  1. Sorry Canada … enjoy your decline. Your Jimmy Carter malaise. Your Barrack Obama new normal.
Keep those resources in the ground to appease the turtle god. The settlers paper with pictures is worthless compared to the wampum.

  2. January and July used to be quieter months in the real estate business. Foreign buyers changed all that. Perhaps now we are reverting back to the old normal. The foreign buyers are not so busy in Vancouver and Toronto as much, they are now buying in Montreal, a place they didn’t want to go to before. Now prices have shot up there too. You know the old supply and demand rule. They gotta spend their cash somewhere.
Frankly I’m surprised that they’re here at all. You are correct when you say we are in decline, the foreign buyers don’t know it yet maybe or maybe they just don’t care. They have too much wampum. Mo Strong R.I.P.
Just wish we could take back our country like the U.S.A.or join them!

  3. If you focus on growing the economy (which isn’t happening) the budget will balance itself. Trudeau was never asked “and what if stimulus spending fails to grow the economy”.
Growing debt and rising interest rates. We’ve been here before.

  4. no matter how often Canadians are told that too much government is bad they just never seem to listen or learn. socialism has been a failure everywhere every time.

  5. budgets do not balance themselves.

  6. Capital is mobile Mr. Morneau and Mr. Trudeau and the U.S. tax and business environment is attracting capital and investment from Canada and all over the world. This can not be addressed through discussion of gender diversity, dressing up and touring around India and Florida and taking selfies.

  7. Canada continues to be the place where wealth, innovation, freedom and liberty go to die.

  8. 2008 till 208, 10 years children, time for recession cycle to kick in, per normal happening. In next 2-4 years we are in for down turn, if we don’t get rid of the Turd, it could be a doozer for Kanukistan.
As to housing, it was expected that Toronto and slopcouver would see a slow down, we expected that, and it is happening. Out here in the outlying regions, things are still going well on “average” home sales. The big $$$$$$ homes not so much.
As USA fed ramps up interest rates we will see and extended slow period in home sales. If Wynne gets turfed, we may see things in the housing industry pick up faster than if the cow stays in.

  9. This tells me that a big part of our economy is based on selling real estate to foreigners. We have lots of land we are not using. But nobody wants 99.9 % of it because it is called tundra.
Selling the valuable parts of the country to foreigners is the very definition of “short term gain”.
We might have to shift gears and starting selling something else to keep the economy going. Oil would be a good place to start.

  10. Not to worry. The weed industry will be huge. Billions, I tell ya. Salvation in a smokey haze, in a few short months.
