Come to think of it, those seat-belts can be a real hindrance to comfort while wearing a ceremonial knife as well.
Where do you buy a turban?
I don’t care if anyone is wearing a helmet, a seatbelt, or not. Possibly if they’re sitting directly behind me I may care, as I wouldn’t want to be squished by flying back seat people… but my limit of concern ends about 2 feet from me in this regard.
The comments at the Calgary Herald were nauseating, I could only skim through a few, with too many people saying that if they weren’t going to wear helmets, they shouldn’t have access to Alberta Health, with no-one mentioning how that could apply to anything the gov’t deems “dangerous” … or actually, to anything that may actually be dangerous.
Like drinking coffee in California, or gay anal sex.
For example.
Who pays the medical bills when they crash and end up disabled for life? I’m sure the insurance companies love this plan.
Finally!
A reasonable individual might say let everyone have the same rights. Allow helmets to be voluntary over 18. Give Darwin some room to work.
Some are more equal than others. In other breaking news; DOGS BARK! WATER RUNS DOWNHILL!
I see some Charter challenges in the near future!
yep should be a personal choice.
like mountie hats
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA … winner winner chicken dinner! We got one who actually believes Trudeau’s charter protects citizens from the government! The purpose of Trudeau’s charter is to strip citizens of power and grow government; any and all charter “challenges” push things in that direction.
As a Christian baker … I would REFUSE to bake a wedding cake for a gay couple. No. Not for “religious” reasons … but for “health” reasons. Sugar is poison. It should carry a diabetes warning label (at least in CA). Safety … esp. protecting “the children” … is paramount. As a Christian Baker … I am actually being compassionate to the gay couple, by keeping them from getting FAT (if the diesel dyke couple aren’t already there) and keep them from getting Type II diabetes.
It is amusing how even here, every comment thread is still majority “government should do something, government will save us”. I guess it is just too much for most people to face up to the fact that it is all stacked against them. No one who has ever been in government was your friend. Every rule, law, that has ever been passed was simply one tiny insignificant cut. How many tiny cuts before you are dead? By my count, Canada is up to 120,000,000 tiny cuts on all of us.
Do they make Turbans from Kevlar?
So, they want Sikhs to die?
I’ve always thought this to be BS, and I still do.
Offer them a decent paying job that requires a hard-hat and watch how quickly they figure out how to accommodate that requirement.
A religious exemption for 1 religion, is opening up a real can of worms.
Though as long as there is a hierarchy to rights in Canada, I don’t see an easy way out. Of course, an easy way out would be for the gov’t to get out of the business of only allowing what they deem to be safe.
And that’s not about to happen until the revolution against big gov’t takes hold.
nothing new here. Canada has been giving every religion, except one, special treatment.
But shouldn’t the government MAKE them sign their donor cards?
Oh, wait, let’s not get the government involved.
I read through most of the comments too. The ones that made the most sense to me argued that yes, they have a religious obligation to wear a turban. There is no obligation or right to ride a bike. Treat everyone the same with respect to helmets and they can choose which is more important to them
Well everyone now knows that Helmet safety was fake….Just a way to train piss-ant monkeys to do what Government WANTS
