Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau feted the world over as the new face of “liberalism” seem to find it difficult to accommodate critical media coverage. An hour-before the high commissioner’s reception cum for dinner for Trudeau the invitation to Outlook was withdrawn.
An Indian official called up to apologise in withdrawing the invitation at the last minute. But admitted that he was instructed by the Canadian PM’s Office to withdraw the invite because Outlook which had done a cover story on ” Khalistan – II made in Canada” cannot be in guest list to welcome Trudeau.

    I wonder if his meeting went as well with Modi as the photo op suggests.
    If so did he address the 50% tariff on Canadian field peas and 40% tariff on chick peas and lentils.
    The pulse trade is a 1.1 Billion dollar Canadian export to India.
    Without a fix for the pulse trade ALL the efforts on this trade mission/vacay are in a negative balance.

  8. Last night a calgary radio talking head said that bongo had another Mr Dressup f’k up. He apparently dressed in traditional grooms garb and a female librano MP was dressed in brides wear. It appeared that bongo and this gal were husband/wife. A nice cultural appropriation. The Indians must be laughing. Ha ha ha

  9. The new face of liberalism remains the old cruel face of Marxism and its murderous derivatives, Leninism and Stalinism.
    But they call it progressivism, repression is new again; they’re sure they got it tweaked just right this time.
    Maybe leave the gulags open a little while, just in case. It is 2018; coercion is harmonious and censorship is freeing.
    You see that communist body count and crushing of human rights is a fly in the ointment in their benevolent despotism.
    Approaching the limit of totalitarianism not from the liberal side, as they pretend, but truly from collectivism.
    If only all socialists were good, hundred of millions of lives could have been saved. Alas, they weren’t very nice.
    Or good people gone bad? They all end up as fascists anyway, and everybody but them gets hurt.
    Big government caused the very poverty it purports to stop, with their ridiculous class warfare envy solution.
    We can do this stuff on our own without their “help.” Civil society gets it done, civic society gets it undone.
    Oh right, instability is good, just ask George Soros. Insulting India is exactly the right way to stimulate Indian trade.
    They can’t accept that because their careers, prestige and wealth depend on the nagging, I mean nanny state.
    Otherwise who needs these fools? The Insurance “Corporation” of BC, with a monopoly on basic auto insurance, lost $1B last year.
    Governments will probably lose untold $billions (ie we’ll never know) on marijuana. Better stock up on those gummy bears.
    The unproductive stopping the productive from being productive to make them measure how productive they were.
    I have a friend doing a build. I told him if government was the general contractor they would do it without attending the site.
    Five times as long to complete, at twice the cost, for half the benefit. Some investment. From our heart of our neo royalty.

    Trudeau is so sure of his wisdom as he flits around like a twit and throws our money away to cronies for political power.
    Pinocchio had more free will and intellectual honesty; and frankly, he was less wooden. Fine, Trudeau has better hair.
    Regarding this latest SNAFU, can we be far from his father’s finger?
    The only question remaining is: who is better are inflicting ruinous debt on Canada? That remains in the TBC file.

  13. Trudeau black balling Outlook Magazine, demanding Social media censor anything HE deems fake news and criticize his views and you get slammed as a Nazi. Is it just me or is there a pattern here? What happened to open & transparent Liberals?
    The only ones on the planet that haven’t figured out what a disaster and embarrassment Trudeau is, are the Liberanos and the Canadian media party.

  14. Shiny Sock Boy had better be careful. If he starts to become a liability to Prime Minister Butts and the Liberal back-room boys, he could see himself facing some highly unusual accusations that would force his resignation as leader. The Liberals would willingly endure short-term political pain if it allows them to pick a safer sock-puppet to parade as the new face of Liberalism – and remain entrenched.

  15. GTA and FredR: don’t forget that PET was enormously unpopular throughout much of his time in office, but he was consistently re-elected (except, of course, for that brief hiatus commonly known as Joe Who’s tenure).
    His tactic was to divide and conquer by offering the best bribes to the only parts of the country that mattered to him, namely southern Ontario and southern Quebec. Whenever he promised them enough goodies, they gleefully voted for him with an overwhelming majority. Meanwhile, the rest of Canada largely loathed and despised him, getting nothing but crumbs out of him, if anything.
    I suspect that Mr. Dressup will remain where he is by doing exactly the same thing and will do so until he decides to have his walk in the snow. It doesn’t matter that he comes across as a complete dolt and stumblebum. If he makes the right sort of promises to the right regions of the country, he won’t have to move from 24 Sussex to Stornoway.

  16. Perhaps the invitation was withdrawn on short notice because PM Dressup was drunk…didn’t we see recent video of him that, if true, showed him drunk on stage in Chicago? Also, if this is the event that has video of him doing his own pirouettes as he arrives…perhaps ‘da proof is da proof is da proof’!

  20. Huh?! I have been taught by the US Media that Sikhs are a gentle, noble, people who worship the kind of gods in a way that is greatly admired by the American Left. And in fact, The Sikhs appear to provide the perfect example of right-wing HATE as they are “so often” targeted as being Muslim … just because of their headgear. Yes, all right-wingers are so poorly educated that they project their “bigoted Muslim HATE” onto the poor innocent Sikhs. Innocent, beautiful, peaceful Sikhs … so I am surprised to learn that there is a “problem” with radical, extremist Sikhs in Canada … that … does not … follow “the narrative” of the American Left.

  26. Sikhs are/were warriors – I recall seeing them in India in 1963…bank guards, standing outside with double barreled shotguns.
    They served in the British Army….oh, and a couple of them assassinated Indira Gandhi.

  28. I am sure and not being hypocritical, most Canadian Sikhs are responsible citizens. However there are those who are violently against India. This because of a refusal by India to authorize a separate state- Khalistan. 1985 saw Air India flight 182 downed by a concealed bomb over the Irish Sea. 329 souls killed. 35 were Sikhs. Only one man served thirty years. At least four men walked free. Vancouver, BC is where the plot was hatched.

  29. I have been doing some research and now I remember this about the 1985 terrorism by Sikh expats. Boldly, certain prominent Sikhs including the editor of a small newspaper spoke out. He was blown up but continued publishing from his wheel chair in Vancouver. A youth then killed him with a pistol, by passing RCMP web cameras. Another Sikh politician was beaten with an iron rod.
    Trying to keep an even keel here for myself.

    They know who did it but Csis and the keystone err rcmp botched the investigation and the perps walked.

  33. I do appreciate your mention of this book. Somehow I just did not see the title in any reviews. I will definitely get it. Always remember the millionaire Sikh and the janitor Sikh in the Air India bombing. Positively guilty, but using a similar event in the USA. about a different situation. “guilty as sin – free as a bird, Canada, what a country”.
