Your Moral And Intellectual Superiors

Finally, solid evidence of collusion;

The recent protests in Iran have raised many red flags and questions as to whether the Times is reporting the news objectively. As videos continue to surface on social media, showing masses of people calling for an end to the regime (and even “death to the Islamic Republic”), the New York Times has downplayed the protests as merely economic disputes. Moreover, the paper’s Tehran-based reporter was conveniently “on vacation” as the most consequential, anti-regime protests in years spread through Iran like wildfire.
It turns out that The New York Times has a special financial relationship with the Iranian regime, likely unknown to many of its readers. As one of the few U.S.-based Iran tour providers, The Grey Lady delivers unprecedented access to the theocratic nation for a price.

  1. “….questions as to whether the Times is reporting the news objectively.”
And here I thought it was unquestioned that the NYT had never, ever, reported news objectively.

  2. 1.5 million gross revenues per year? Laughable attempt at putting this as the motive for the NYTs bias. Surprised you endorsed this Kate.

  3. Kind of like CNN and Iraq with cozy relationship with Saddam Hussein. Or 99% of the MSM and their relationship with the Obama admin.

  4. If you’re the failing New York Times, $1.5 million is a lot of money. Do you deny the NYT’s coverage of the protests has been anything but obsequious towards the regime?

  5. 1.5 million to get a little bit of exclusive access or zero to get zero access. It’s free money for NYT.
    Captcha: Rest Hotel.

  6. Careful Gord, YOUR bias is showing.
Despite the fact the writer makes it extremely clear that there are additional revenues well beyond the ‘bare minimum’ 1.5 mill estimated, you completely ignored the other motives given, too.
The story makes a strong case of how the NYT has a long, clear history of sucking up to a hostile foreign government for assorted favors. How can any clear-minded individual just shrug that off? Let me answer that one, for you. They would be the same ‘clear-minded’ individuals who don’t think that ANY INVESTIGATION of ANY LEFTIST ACTIVITIES should EVER BE CONDUCTED.
The Clinton Foundation stinks like a rotted corpse yet the political left and their media buddies are lock-step united in screaming ‘Our People are Above the Law, Hands Off’. Compare that to the level of enthusiasm the left have displayed for their admittedly made-up nothing-burger Russia/Trump conspiracy theory. Sick puppies.

  7. The $1.5 million isn’t much, expense money maybe.
    The influence is everything.

  8. “The $1.5 million isn’t much, expense money maybe.”
It’s the some of the payola that is significant, not the component parts.

  9. Yes there are – a few hundred thousand for sponsoring trips isn’t one of them. This is fakey news that should be beneath this site.

  10. With any luck the people of New York will see a “For Sale” sign on that NYT building like the Herald building in Calgary. If you continue down the road of crying “Wolf Wolf”, like most of the media does, most people tune out. Here in Canadian media we have a constant reminder from our media Pinnochios of how great the economy is as the carbon taxes are stacked on each other and restaurants close daily with minimum wage cutting in their meagre profits as our dear leader cavorts with every bad actor on the planet but the medias mantra is “nothing to see here”, lets holler wolf again that works To any money losing operation, like the NYT currently is, 1.5 million is a lot of money Gord.

  11. What revenues is he referring to? Conjecture doesn’t cut it – surely Wolff proves that.
I’m biased against fake and trumped up reporting.

  12. gord Bulk, as usual, you are on the wrong side of the issue. It’s about NTY’s bias, and this is but ONE example of it. If you think that 1.5 million is the only $$$$ advantage, you are even stupider than I’v given you credit for, and that is one hell of an achievement .
The access along is a huge item, and worth $$$$$. You seam to not understand that they have pretty much unrestricted access, without any state gate keepers in tow. That alone brings up a big head scratcher issue, WHY????
If your participation in here is to be the stupidest poster, you sure are giving the UNthing one hell of a run for it’s money

  13. You need to read my comments more thoroughly. I’m not saying the NYT isn’t biased – quite the contrary.
But this tour deal is laughably small potatoes while the article plays it up to the hilt.
(i find your little taunts and insults amusing BTW – really puts your comments in the proper perspective)

  14. “What revenues is he referring to?”
Holy crap Gord, if your reading comprehension skills are truly this friggin’ weak, find another hobby. Or, at least, do us the courtesy of actually reading our posts before charging ahead with the same lame talking points I and others have already effectively countered. The information is all there, you simply won’t look at it because it undermines your initial stand on the topic. Your repeated persistence that they couldn’t possibly be motivated by 1.5 mil is particularly funny given that it is based on NOTHING more than your personal opinion. So fixated are you on the now “a few hundred thousand” that you shut your mind off to virtually every other quality point made on the story.
“I’m biased against fake and trumped up reporting.”
I just repeated that line because it’s so f*cking hilarious. There is absolutely NOTHING unbiased about your comments here today on the NYT’s apparent pandering to an evil foreign regime for it’s own gains. You have repeatedly used your fixation on the supposed ‘paltriness’ of the 1.5 mill sum to deflect every other quality motive argument made by the writer and subsequent commenters. I will waste no more time on someone so invested in lying to themselves.

  15. So tell me guys and gals….whats up with the soft “leftist’ moniker all the time…? That they are in fact is not the issue…Just seems y’all are being pretty nice and easy on this collection of scum.
I kinda prefer to call these SOB’s (99.9% of MSM), what they truly aspire to be..
The Central Committee For State Information (Communists & Marxists) Who prostrate themselves at the faux alters of their Gods: Obama and Justin Trudeau.
    Lets call a spade a spade…shall we.?

  16. “…the NYT’s apparent pandering to an evil foreign regime for it’s own gains.”
Nothing new for the NYT. They polished Stalin’s jewels through Walter
    Duranty.

  17. On 60 Minutes last night … the smeared lipstick lady called for RT (Russian Times Network) to be listed as a “Foreign Agent” in the USA. Ha! If … she wants to cite RT as a “Russian collusioner” in defeating HER … then surely she would want the NYT listed as a foreign agent (for Iran) operating in the USA. And perhaps Facebook should de-monetize the NYT’s Page ?

  18. you miss the whole point, the tour deal has very little, if anything to do with money. Now go back and read what I wrote , you dumba$$

  19. Sure explains why the New York Times became the New York Slime.
Soooo? anyone wishing to wonder Why President Obama & His “in house Iranian Cheering Team” was sending Billions of American $$$,$$$,$$$.$$ to Iran on Pallets?
