Here’s the question. Now that even myopic Mary Dawson has found Jr offside on the Ethics guidelines (after only a year), will media preface every mention of him as “the First PM to fail The Conflict Of Interest Rules”?
Remember when PM Harper lost a no confidence motion and they had a field day with The First PM routine. Some how I can’t see CTV going that route.

It is one of the most insidious LIES of our generation that DOPE is “medicine”. Utter garbage. Yeah … it’s “pain” medication … “pain” is perhaps the most inexact, difficult diagnosis of all human ailments. It is the perfect “ailment” for a DOPER to claim. No Doctor will deny anyone’s claim of “pain”. Like the “pain”of having to get up every morning and go to work. Yep. It is the perfect “cure” for every slacker who just wants to bang on theee drum all day. Hey! Sounds like some dude with a sock fetish!

I don’t give Mary Dawson any credit for integrity or courage. She left this issue to stew for almost a year, before finally coming to a decision at the very end of her mandate. She’s on the way out to a nice fat pension,and beyond the reach of the PMO.
The Opposition could have flogged Trudeau with this every day in the House and in the media,just like they did to Harper in the Duffy case,but Dawson stretched her alleged investigation on a simple matter to a year. Read Rex Murphy’s take on that at the NP.
Dawson thus prevented a powerful weapon against Trudeau from being made available to the Opposition until just before Christmas 2017, when no one’s paying attention anyway,and by the time the new session starts,will have been forgotten.

It was once “Dominion Day” which made sense. Then the LIberals, still in full coup mode decided to destroy some more historical content and dump the designation Dominion Day and impose the ultra bland and utterly meaningless “Canada Day”. It would be far more appropriate to call July 1st, Trudopia Day or Pierre Day or FLQ Day, or how about Karl Marx Day or New New France Day or “the country formally known as Canada Day” or “The First Post National State Day”. “Trudope Day” works for me, at least its honest.

The cynic in me says Juth-tin has delayed Pot Day, to legalize just before Election 2019, giving a bump in the polls for him.
