  1. Ignorance of law is a legal defence for immigrants and refugees.
Import of cultural practices is a feature.

  2. Boy, nothing but hatred in his mean little eyes.
Bet he’d like her burkha’d and silent.

  3. If you are a Liberal (politically) in Canada, it would appear that you are expected to hold illiberal (totalitarian, bigoted) opinions.
    What have I misunderstood?
    Tony.

  4. // “I just spent seven minutes asking @AhmedDHussen if he would reverse their decision to remove listing FGM as a crime in Canada’s Citizenship guide.” //
So. FGM is a crime. Check.
And Canadian authorities have not had much success in finding & making a prosecution. [that would mean over the last decade, most of which was under Steve’s get tough policy.]
    Some hints why here:
    https://www.google.ca/search?&q=fgm+in+canada
But we are not talking about prosecuting actual crimes here. We are talking about the insertion of a specific warning to all those wanting to become Canadian citizens.
In other words, a symbolic gesture, like Steve’s pretense of expanding the military & arctic sovereignty [by posing for pictures in the appropriate gear]
This resembles nothing so much as the Herouxville fiasco:
// Last January, Herouxville council adopted a “code of life” telling would-be immigrants what’s…. //
It included no cutting off heads “no stoning of women in public”, “no female circumcision.” & a little sermon on the importance of Christmas trees.
Herouxville still hasn’t lived this down.

  5. ah jeez dizzy, watch out lest you be accused of ‘defending’ turdeux by correctly pointing out the bully’s shortcomings.

  6. Typical of Liberals when being questioned.
By refusing to answer the question, they did in fact answer it.
And that answer said they were fine with letting immigrants practice FGM.

  7. What a PoS this turd is. 2019 can’t come soon enough to get rid of these despicable Liberals. Way to go, Michelle

  8. This lady has spent a lot of effort condemning FGM. But what about the murder of defenceless, unborn babies?
Rempel says FGM wrong, abortion OK.
(Double standards — twice as good.)

  9. Bingo! Why would he reverse a decision of a barbaric practice he probably agrees with or at lest whose practitioners he does not want to alienate.
Having followed Michelle Rempel career somewhat I doubt very much that she supports open ended abortion.

“rizwan says… This lady has spent a lot of effort
    condemning FGM.”

i take your point, riz… say, where are you on cutting the
    clitoris off pre-adolescent females?
    slice & dice… or not?

  11. Don’t look at this as a step back but as a challenge to act. One knew this sort of thing would happen when Justin cringed at calling mutilating children barbaric the first time around.
It is time to take a page from pro-lifers’ playbooks and have a “Show the Truth” tour of Islamist atrocities. Put up billboards listing the various injuries inflicted on girls from this ghastly procedure. Throw some flyers into the mail and let bored housewives whine that their snowflakes could have been disgusted by what Trudeau allows and wants for women. Have photos of acid attack victims listed on halal products. It works for cigarettes, right?
Never let up. There are no countries to go to flee from this. Either we take Canada back or let the girl-beaters have it.

  12. Last year approximately 110,000 defenceless, innocent unborn were murdered in Canada. How many cases of FGM happened in Canada last year?

“rizwan says… How many cases of FGM happened in
    Canada last year?”

riz… that’s a great question… not one that gets discussed
outside “the community”, i’m guessing. oh, btw… you
(cough, cough) forgot to answer my question.
are you in favour of slicing bits off young girls, or not? feel
free to also state your feelings on abortion.

  14. If you can’t measure it you can’t control it.
After you provide me a figure I will respond.

  15. “I doubt very much that she supports open ended abortion.”
So is closed ended abortion OK?

  16. This is beyond disgusting. Whatever happened to Canadian values? I guess we don’t have any now that Liberals are in charge.

“rizwan says… After you provide me a figure I will respond.”
riz… see comment at top.. no one seems to be looking too
hard… justin’s large muslim constituency in papineau
would surely lose their collective mind.
“There has never been a criminal conviction for female
    genital mutilation in Canada.”

so, now… let me see if i’m following your previous logic…
unless i can tell you how many people will be murdered
in 2017 in canada… you’re not prepared to say if you’re
    pro or anti homicide?
you’re not just ducking the question, right? because
whatever respect i have for you would just fly out the
    window.

  18. I don’t want them here at all, but if they are here, why should I care what they do to each other? I don’t care what they do to each other in Somalia, and just because they moved here doesn’t move me to care.

  19. *
“minuteman asks… why should I care what they do to each other?”
    uh… because they’re human beings?
riz has gone silent, but some muslims are all too happy to spread the good word…
“In the undated ‘Muslims in Calgary’ article entitled Female Circumcision in Islam,
author Asiff Hussein claims both that FGM is ‘an Islamic practice’ and that it…
    brings untold benefits to women‘.”

Shaked Elsayed, an Imam at the Dar al-Hijrah Mosque in Falls Church, Virginia,
has reportedly stated that he believes Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) prevents
“hyper-sexuality” in women and endorsed the cutting of a woman’s clitoris in order
to prevent her from experiencing the urge to engage and act upon her
    sexual desires
    .

well, allah knows, we certainly wouldn’t mere females making decisions like that.

  20. this shows how ingrained this barbarism is with islam. right back in the 700s when muhaMAD was wandering about like some l ron hubbard of the day, busy starting the ‘religion of piece’ . . . . pieces of bodies, pieces of buildings, pieces of cars . . .
p.s. the ‘benefits’ include what could only be described as horrifying pain, followed by death from infection in some 4th world ahfricahn shythole.

  21. Because Minuteman, when the Canadian Caliphate is declared, it may be YOUR grandaughter who is “convinced” to experience “the benfits”.

  22. Canada is one of a very few countries in the world that has no abortion law whatsoever. I believe Vietnam is another.

  23. “So are you fit or against FGM?”
This question is wholly unnecessary, but since you have asked my position is that FGM is a barbaric cultural practice.
Now that we have that out of the way lets look at Rempel’s position:
12 FGM wrong; 110,000 abortions okay.
Do you see anything wrong in that?

  24. I do not believe that she is for abortions unless the mother’s life is in danger.

  25. Where are all the feminists now?!? I wonder if his wife and children had to suffer through that carnage. Despicable filthy practice.

  26. The Harper government called this a barbaric practice for a reason. It was to help people from foreign cultures understand the seriousness of committing this type of thing in our country. The word “barbaric” is entirely appropriate. It was not intended to appeal to Canadian leftist sentiment. The word and the entire contents of the guide are to help newcomers understand what is not tolerated in Canada. Changing the wording here just keeps them in the dark — like the fellow who claimed that no one told him he could not beat his wife with a softball bat. Do we want these people to adjust to our culture or will we be adjusting to theirs. FGM is NOT a symbolic crime. It happens and is done in seecret. Liberals are ruining Canada with their failure to grasp how Canadians as well as newcomers are hurt if we are not honest about these things.

riz… thanks for clarifying. what do you think the feeling is
within the muslim community as a whole? when imams
speak up in favour of fgm… doesn’t that indicate a larger
    problem?

    ps… riz…
the primary difference between the abortion debate and female genital mutilation is that there are plenty of canadians of all religious and non-religious persuasions who actively… indeed fiercely, campaign against abortion… yet i am unaware of any organised muslim resistance to either fgm or honour killing.
somewhat understandable, as i’m guessing such resistance could make one the target of the collective muslim community’s rage.
fwiw… i am opposed to the mass genocide of the unborn. aborting babies and providing millions of dollars in funding for ivf is an insane policy embraced by the wynne liberals.
let’s adopt out all 45,000 children in provincial child-welfare care before funding a single case of infertility.
