FBI stonewalls House on Russia investigator demoted for anti-Trump bias;

Stories in both the Washington Post and New York Times on Saturday reported that Peter Strzok, who played a key role in the original FBI investigation into the Trump-Russia matter, and then a key role in Mueller’s investigation, and who earlier had played an equally critical role in the FBI’s Hillary Clinton email investigation, was reassigned out of the Mueller office because of anti-Trump texts he exchanged with a top FBI lawyer, Lisa Page, with whom Strzok was having an extramarital affair. Strzok was transferred to the FBI’s human resources office — an obvious demotion — in July.
[…] Word of the messages and the affair were news to Nunes, even though the committee had issued a subpoena that covered information about Strzok’s demotion more than three months ago. The committee’s broadly worded subpoena for information related to the so-called Trump dossier went to the FBI and DOJ on Aug. 24. In follow-up conversations on the scope of the subpoena, committee staff told the FBI and DOJ that it included information on the circumstances of Strzok’s reassignment.

And yet more.

Two senior Justice Department officials have confirmed to Fox News that the department’s Office of Inspector General is reviewing the role played in the Hillary Clinton email investigation by Peter Strzok, a former deputy director for counterintelligence at the FBI who was removed from the staff of Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III earlier this year, after Mueller learned that Strzok had exchanged anti-Trump texts with a colleague.
A source close to the matter said the OIG probe, which will examine Strzok’s roles in a number of other politically sensitive cases, should be completed by “very early next year.”
The task will be exceedingly complex, given Strzok’s consequential portfolio. He participated in the FBI’s fateful interview with Hillary Clinton on July 2, 2016 – just days before then-FBI Director James Comey announced he was declining to recommend prosecution of Mrs. Clinton in connection with her use, as secretary of state, of a private email server.
As deputy FBI director for counterintelligence, Strzok also enjoyed liaison with various agencies in the intelligence community, including the CIA, then led by Director John Brennan.

  1. The rot smell in the swamp is pretty heavy. It is well past time to do some serious house cleaning.

  2. Fall guy setup for a busted year long investigation that only charged one fool for lying? Even that was telegraphed by Pres. Trump when he fired him for lying.
“…Now, in what appears to be an orchestrated leak, both the Post and Times published the reason for Strzok’s demotion, along with concerns that the revelation might help President Trump…”

  3. Ah, I’ll just wait for the FOOL, Gord Tulk, to come in here and explain “due process” to us political illiterates

  4. Exactly. As much as I revel in this revelation … I fear it is nothing more than a sacrificial lamb offered up to make the putrid swamp draining stop. The LEFTIST embeds throughout our government (at all levels) is RUINING our FREE Democracy. The Democrap LEFT has been running our country like … Cuba, Venezuela … or like Putin’s Russia, if you will. They have been doing everything (illegally) feasible to ensure 1-Party rule. It is far past time to start … LOCKING THEM UP!!!!!

  5. It’s pretty hard to muster any confidence in a leviathan justice system that after 8 years of politicization and where the popular vote supported a criminal candidate. A good first step would be seeing Ms Clinton in an orange jump suit behind bars.

  6. This is why government (pretty much every government in the western world) needs to be seriously shrunk in size. I am thinking they need to be at least 10% the size they are now (and I’m sure once we get there we would still see lots of room for more cuts).
They simply have too much power over our lives.

  7. Simply put, the FBI appears to be fully complicit in a cover-up that attempted to influence a presidential election for a favored candidate – Hillary Clinton.
We are witnessing the systematic and systemic subversion of our Democracy. These are these are crimes against our Constitution I am NOT exaggerating when I say that certain bad actors embedded in our government need to get the Rosenberg treatment, and be permanently put to sleep.

  8. So far Mueller has “taken down” Manafort for actions years ago while working with the Podestas, some nobody whose efforts were rejected by the Trump team, and now Flynn, not for unethical actions on Trump’s behalf, but on the process crime of lying to the FBI, ala Scooter Libby and Martha Stewart.
Meanwhile the treasonous run free because Mueller well understands his primary goal. Bury Uranium 1 as deep as possible while protecting the corrupt Clinton cabal of which he is a member in good standing, as is Rosenstein. Mueller helped Russia take control of up to 20% of US uranium while head of the FBI. He now leads the investigation against the President based on the Clinton cabal’s fraudulent Russia dossier.
That DC swamp is as deep as the Atlantic ocean. Not enough rope in the world folks, not even close.

  9. Now it appears the dam has burst, everything makes sense now, why the FBI didn’t/hasn’t acted as a law enforcement/investigative agency, that is unbiased.
What’s that, crickets from the MSM?

  10. Time to clean out the FBI.
First, fire one in ten field agents.
Second, fire nine in ten management level.
Make it random. No reviews, no reason. Just a purge of careerists.

  11. For awhile I’d thought the investigations of Hillary or Obama would take at least a year, now it’s looking like this will be an ongoing investigation well into Trump’s second term.
What happens when a “Special Prosecutor” is arrested?
Where will the FBI look for untainted investigators to conduct this investigation?
uff.. that swamp is not just wide, it’s very deep too.

  12. You know, I’m watching Season 3 of The Blacklist right now, and goddamn if I’m not having that Tom Clancy feeling. You know, the one where he was so uncannily accurate about what was likely going behind the scenes politically and militarily that he was investigated by naval intelligence because they were sure he had to be in possession of classified intel.

  13. “””As deputy FBI director for counterintelligence, Strzok also enjoyed liaison with various agencies in the intelligence community, including the CIA, then led by Director John Brennan.”””
Brennan was so incompetent that the CIA couldn’t stop the Russians from doing what ever they did…He was depending on the UK for Russian intelligence… He was the unmasking master searching for bad guys in America
This FBI agent (Strzok) had direct contact with all the members of the Obama/Clinton EVIL empire…He needs to be Water Boarded & then have his scull shrunken by real cannibals…
    JMHO

  14. I like the way you think … Amazonian Head Shrinkers … BEAUTIFUL!!! I can just see them boiling in a Natives pot.

  15. WINNING! MY President refuses to cede American sovereignty to the UN … as did our former Manchurian President.

  16. “I can just see them boiling in a Natives pot.”
That visual isn’t allowed despite it being common wen I was young. People used to have this thing called humor.

  17. You are the fool.
This is all following its course – nunes’ investigation is now digging into the FBI and DOJ conduct for example. Absolutley due process needs to be followed – that’s the only way we put those who are guilty in prison.

  18. if due process had been followed, we WOULD NOT BE HERE, you GD fool. That was/is my point. Only Trump’s bullshit and the efforts of some outsiders, like judicial watch, is what we are seeing here. You are just plain stupid…full stop. People like you are a danger to a democratic society

  19. Gold Turk is enjoying the due process of pipeline and LNG terminal cancellations. The due process of massive immigration, of looking out for Laurentian elites, of a crippling carbon tax.
He’s happiest whenever the Alberta economy is kicked in the nuts, because his only nuts are between his ears.

  20. I like the idea of random firings. A few examples need to be made.
But ONLY after a call for whistlblowers to come forward, and save their careers.
Given a deadline, ALL are targets for a scorched earth purge.

  21. I LOVE your idea … announce massive random firings … just sweep out our agencies … EXCEPT … AMNESTY will be granted for whistle blowers. Awesome. Let the RATS eat each other alive. And if the whistle blowers are too, dirty themselves … put them on traffic duty, or put them in a rubber room.

  22. Government actions abrogating law violates due process to the individual in a vein similar to “one death is a tragedy, a million a statistic.”
As far as my judgment of your only nuts being between your ears, that was not an example of due process but of observation.
(PS: I don’t mind being offensive, but I don’t wish to personally offend)

  23. Why does Peter Strzok’s pronounced anti-Trump views matter? Because he was one of the top managers at the FBI ( deputy head of counter-intelligence) and he is known to have pushed very hard for an investigation of the spurious, anti-Trump, Russia dossier. Any question why the corrupt Obama holdovers at the FBI have refused to make Strzok available for questioning by the House Intelligence committee? Strzok, to the point that House Intelligence committee staff have recommended a contempt citation for withholding him, and multiple witnesses. Time to repeal the Pendleton act for senior bureaucrats, so that partisan dirtbags like Strzok can be flushed out of the system.

  24. What most people seem to fail to grasp is that Mueller was sent in to protect Hillary and the Swamp. Everyone thought Hillary would win so there was no need to cover their tracks. Hillary lost so in order to cover their tracks they sent in Mueller. Mueller was one of the most incompetent individuals to ever be FBI director and honestly couldn’t find his butt while sitting on both hands. I suspect that in the long run this will not end well for Mueller and those who put him into this position.
