Among them was a $43 billion LNG proposal between Sinopec and the Bank of China partnering with the Alaska Gasline Development Corp., to ship gas from northern to southern Alaska where it will be liquified and shipped to China.
B.C. didn’t need the money anyway, they’re getting enough from all those coffee shops in Vancouver.
Unfortunately when the moral minorities force their misconstrued version of economics on our society we all suffer. I cannot for the life of me understand the ignorance of the greater proportion of the population that espouses this BS.
As the money and jobs flow to the U.S., the Liberals/NDP/Greens dance with joy! Mission accomplished!
The media call them ‘protesters’ when in reality those are ‘saboteurs’, often supporting foreign interests.
Simple fact is tree huggers, enviro activists, etc, etc, are engaged and committed because it has become a business for them. Pembina, Tides, etc, etc, are funded by cubicle dwellers, who have NO clue where heat, light, power, food really comes from.
Six figure salaries, feel good supporters, and fact is, this crew will never be happy or quit. It is their gravy train and income source.

Fact is, there are those “first nations” who wish to lift their folks out of dependency, into meaningful employment, and OFF gov payments.
There are those however that depend on their people being without hope, employment, hope, future. It, like enviro crowd, depend on adversary, blame model. Owed to them, etc.
BC, progressives have been shafted, and the National Dependant crew, depend on this dependance for their cheque.
Progressives want indepenence, want out of cycle, others, they “depend on it”, because, they rape/pillage/shaft their people, look at stats, and record.
In my opinion, aside from crazy land claims, etc, etc, entitlements, let us encourage gainful employment, out of the “cycle”, everyone will benefit.
Well paid “chiefs” etc depending on “no” employment or work options will be TOAST.
Let’s get folks, of all stripes, history, ethnicity, to work, or have option of it. I applaud native leaders who say “WTF”, “how come”, “why not”, let’s move forward. The PAST, is past, and we need to go forward.

The only influence Canada has is in the minds of the media, now watch as other Countries make up the shortfall in LNG ,oil,and gas production,while we languish with green jobs.

One of the great lies that are used in conquest by guilt is this notion that for the last 13000 years before the evil white man (that saved them from their own inter-tribal genocide, slavery and regular famine cycles), they were eco-friendly guardians of nature. Given the fact that stone-age technology had severe limitations on their carrying capacity, they weren’t populous enough to cause much impact.

Ha-Ha-Ha-Ha. When the indians first started to protest the Northern Gateway Pipeline it became very obvious to me that the problem was that they just weren’t offered enough money. I suggested at the time that if they managed to scuttle the pipeline they would be the big losers.AND THEY ARE.Looks good on them.
Rather pathetic of the MSM to write this up, now that most of the major projects are stifled & the remaining ones are soon to be, as well.

I still stand on my proposal, posted here on SDA to ship oil around BC, from Alberta through Yukon Territory & out to sea via Valdez Alaska. Same for LNG. It’s doable, so let’s get on it. Ottawa can get stuffed opposing it. They didn’t spend $300 million building an all-weather road to Tuk, just so the Inuit can drive to the liquor store cheaper.
Nope, that’s so Ottawa can sell Arctic drilling permits & stuff get’s to where it needs to go to do it. Why? PIP Grants. Remember? Dome Petroleum. They get permits to drill on FEDERAL LAND & the feds get the royalties. End run around provinces on oil & gas tax revenues & since they have no pipelines to markets (thanks Big Green & dopey Indians), guess what….federal oil goes via Arctic tankers to foreign markets. Screw you Provinces. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

For me, the classic example of shooting oneself in the foot was the delay of the Mackenzie Valley Pipeline, thanks to Thomas Berger’s report.
He recommended that it be delayed for 10 years for the usual reasons. That was 40 years ago and there’s still no pipeline and the communities along the route are probably still the same as they were when the report was finished.
Back then, there was a lot of drilling activity in the Beaufort Sea, possibly with goal of using the pipeline to get any gas that might have been found to market. After the project was put up on blocks, the drilling dropped off and there doesn’t seem to be much interest in the area now.
Actions have consequences indeed.

Two years since the last Federal election and no expose on the extent of foreign interference in that election. Surprise! Many naive Canadians whether Native, wannabe eco’s or conniving politicians.
The biggest challenge to the geopolitical status quo in North America since WW II was the Harper government IMHO. Through his international trade deals he was establishing the frame work from which he could chart a more independent economic and thusly political future for Canada. Canada had no friends in this scenario. Global influence and power is a ‘mo holds barred’ game.
Americans are our friends but our interests do not always coincide. Canaada has always been a treasury of cheap materials. OPEC fears Canadian energy production and Russia fears the common border and territorial claims in the Artic. I suspect all three of these groups put money and influence into the last Federal election to ensure that Harper was defeated.
It is laughable that the effort to prevent Canadian energy being available at tidewater can be blamed on Natives and environmentalists. Wake up and smell the coffee Canadians!

The hope of a BC LNG processing and shipping industry is dead. It died years ago when they failed to get these projects off the ground in a timely manner. Now we’re just kicking the corpse. The Americans are eating our lunch on the energy file and it’s getting worse, not better.
Nothing will change until the word ‘racism’ is stricken from our collective vocabularies. It has become a huge wall in getting anything done that involve more than one race of people. I am sick of it.
