Over 4,000 Facebook users in the Boston area have RSVP’d to attend the event they’re calling “Scream helplessly at the sky on the anniversary of the election.” Another 33,000 have expressed interest in attending the event at the 383-year-old Boston Common.

I started my teaching job at a post-secondary institution in the late 1980s. I quit over 15 years ago just when the first millennials started coming.
There was indeed a distinct difference between the students I first taught and the ones I had to deal with, especially during my last year.
Fortunately, not all of them are like that. I’ve been going to the university dental clinic for some work and most of the students I dealt with were not only adept at what they were doing, they also had a suitable attitude. I’m sure they learned that they need to have a professional demeanour if they expect to have a successful career.
There was one student, however, who I didn’t particularly like. I had no problem with the quality of her work but I found her to be bratty, not unlike some of the students I taught several years earlier. If she continued like that, I don’t think she’ll last long in that business.

Since this year isn’t a milestone anniversary, probably not. Maybe in 2020.

Being born in 1943, I have the privilege of being a part of the ‘greatest generation. I was a tad too young to contribute much back in the day, but I have carried those values forward with me and try to impart those values on others. Never have we needed better values than today.
