    It looks like their people up in the north east of Calgary have the majority mixed with the self loathing white liberals ….have you calgarians not seen the explosion of the northeast of Calgary? Lrt expanded where to the n.e. Housing expanded where? In the ne….that is an enclave if I have ever seen one.

  4. Yup. I grew up in a small town in northern B. C. i moved away 40 years ago when the population was mainly white with aboriginals being the next largest group.
    It’s not that way any more.

  6. I believe the poll from a couple weeks ago that showed Smith in the lead and so did Nenshi. There is no other reason for him to have dogwhistled the lefties with his claim of racism.

    Nenshi won every ward in the city other than 13 and 14. Even then, Smith barely won ward 13, which should have been landslide for him and he didn’t rack up enough votes in ward 14. Smith somehow managed to lose even ward 11, which has been the hotbed of anti-BRT activity and elected a limited government conservative to council.
    Keep in mind, no incumbent mayor has lost in Calgary since 1980 and, it took Ralph Klein to do it. Calgary also hasn’t had a ‘conservative’ mayor for decades. All 9 incumbents from a completely dysfunctional council were re-elected. This isn’t new Calgary – it’s same old Calgary.

  11. Well, who exactly is voting for Nenshi? I keep imagining new comers and younger people . . . those who do not carry most of the tax burden. Have the demographics in Calgary (which I still think of as cowboy town) changed significantly in the last 15 years or so?

    Yup, NE Calgary alone is now over 90% non white. Eastern Canada has been shipping their Third World population west in high gear for a decade now.

    I spoke with a couple of counsellors that were on the right hand side, said they’d done polling to see where they stood in the election, and were very optimistic they’d win these contests.
    They polled 3rd. Pulling votes from those that may have been able to win against the incumbent, and allowing the team for Nenshi to win again. They lied.
    I don’t want to stay here, and “enjoy the further decline”.

  15. Alberta is as left wing as any place in Canada. Has been for decades. The PC’s were leftists with the odd conservative to placate the proles.
    A swing to the right won’t be easy.

  19. Marx is the father of the most deadly and virulent intellectual virus in the universe. It is true; once that infection takes hold, there is nothing to be done. Once a person becomes a socialist, THEY CAN NEVER BE ANYTHING ELSE. You cannot be a socialist and a Christian; the Bible says very logically that a person cannot serve two masters (eugenicist Tommy Douglas is the quintessential example of this, and teh current pope). You cannot be a socialist and a muslim. You cannot be a socialist and a father or mother or spouse or sibling. You cannot be a socialist and a school teacher; I think we all see clearly what the result of trying that is.
    In a lot of ways, socialism is scientology. They even have solution .45 (.45 Colt FYI) for people who try to leave. Ask Seth Rich.

    As an aside, his re-election is a major negative for my corporate employer. Calgary will be left out of major upgrades, thanks to Nensharias regressive development policies.
    The stupid is strong in Calgary. And yeah, buhbye Flames.
    This is another example of the takers overwhelming the makers. Renters and government parasites outnumber the productive class. If you are a homeowner in Calgary and voted for his Arrogance, you deserve the pain. Enjoy the decline!

  22. Calgary is as much of a cowboy town as Edmonton, Toronto or San Francisco.
    Alberta had a chance for some semblance of independence and perhaps a bit of a bulwark against the onslaught of socialism a couple decades ago, but the liberal locusts have arrived and are not leaving until they’ve done to Alberta what they’ve done to every other crop they’ve visited. (and I don’t necessarily mean to imply that all the locusts are imports from other parts of Canada…many native Albertans have learned to live off others as well as any Quebecer)
    Nothing unique to Alberta at all…anywhere prosperity springs up, you can bet there will be a flood of welfare bums and creeps.

    Y’all might want to reflect on the notion that:
    A) This is city vs. countryside, and
    B) The governments of Canada are at least as crooked, at all levels, as they are in Italy.
    Therefore, all you Social Conservatives, there really is no other issue than taxes.
    We are really never going to turn this machine around and use it to promote moral causes, like pro-Life and the family unit. That is never going to happen. The Big Machine is solid Liberal Red, the way from the PMO to the lowest file clerk sleeping in a closet at your local town hall. This government is really NEVER going to pursue your social causes. Never.
    This government is also never going to defend this country. They consider it a waste of money that they could be spending on themselves. All three parties and the DND are the same, top to bottom. They are on the take. They are going to let the Americans do it.
    So if you want to see the government stop ruining your life, taking your possessions and giving you back nothing, you need to start starving it to death.
    Tax cuts are the only issue.
