  1. He doesn’t work in the company any more and he still receives “income sprinkling” through dividends – 6.5 cents per share every month..

  2. Xiat that would appear to be a nice cheque for 134,321.20 every month. Or 1,611,854.40 per year. Wonder how much tax he pays on it

  3. “the alberta company would give him the lowest provincial tax rate”
I am not sure since Red Rachel worked her magic.

  4. Morneau Shapell has numerous government federal/provincial/state contracts both here in Canada and the US.

  5. Even with the Glorious Socialist Committee for the Worker People’s Party in Power, I do believe that Alberta has the lowest corporate tax rate in the country. As a general rule, dividends can be moved from company to company tax free. Thus, there is no corporate tax paid on the incoming dividends. Dividends can then be distributed to the great job and wealth creator at a favorable tax rate.

  6. ‘He doesn’t work at the company any more’.
Fair enough but following his career in politics he will have a seamless return to the company not unlike PKP had in quebek following his failed political career.
That how blind trust or hands off works for these guys…

  7. Multi-millionaire politicians pimping and buying the ignorant vote with taxes from the unborn by screwing those who produce stuff making 6 figures or less. That make sense in the Spawn’s Canada.

  8. All I know is that MY own personal spawn … and their spawn’s spawn’s spawn have been screwed by our leftist (and GOPe) governments. If they actually care rrrrrrrr ed about the chill lllllll dren as they claim … they would STOP spending money they’ve not yet collected.

  9. Morneau Sheppel closed at $21.04 x 2,066,480 shares = $43,478,739; Annual dividends = $161,185
I have read that Morneau was out of his depth when he was active in the Company. Joined Turdeau in the ‘silver spoon’ set. Neither of these two have any credentials to run a company let alone a country. On reflection when has that ever stopped the Canadian electorate from putting such people in power.
Scary thought but even Bob Rae has more ability. Likely still skinny dipping with Rick Mercer so unavailable.

  10. His stunt daddy taught the court jester well, voters for Bill are known as “Mornomorons”, but the voters for Dim Jong Uumm are just garden variety liberal morons willing to give whatever just to see a selfie of dear leader. Canadazuela coming to a town near you courtesy TheeBThee TheeTV and the Globalithts. Great, Petrocan all over again.

  11. Morneau and bongo are a pair of trust fund wizards. Everything was handed to them by the old man.
    What can be said?

  12. I once read an annual report for Morneau Sheppell and I did an analysis of the numbers. I wasn’t impressed with the results, such as an extremely high debt-equity ratio.
My conclusion was that I wouldn’t touch the stock with a barge pole.

  13. How could Canadians have done this? Handing Canada over to this incompetent duo — after Harper’s years of (not perfect), but solid, capable governance. There is only one explanation. Canadians are stupid. I have no hope left for the country.

  14. So, Bill Morneau, a resident of Ontario, holds his shares in the family firm via an Alberta numbered company, safely out of the reach of Ontario’s taxation authority. As long as Morneau doesn’t draw any pay from that numbered company, his dividends are not subject to Ontario or Alberta provincial personal income tax. It will be worth it to examine Morneau’s personal residential property holdings. Chances are he owns a house in Alberta, which would indicate that at some point in the future, he’ll conveniently draw a big chunk of personal income out of that numbered company while claiming Alberta residence, and Alberta personal tax rates.

  15. I hate to say it, but you are dead on right.
Actually, it’s because Le Dauphin is “really, really…really, really…ridiculously good looking” Which is the sole criteria for political leadership. So yes, your statement is correct
