I am good with getting rid of all laws related to drugs. If you want to be a stoner, stone away. At the same time however we have to get rid of state pensions, state run medical systems, and state welfare and relief programs. With total personal freedom, comes total personal responsibility.
I have nothing against drug use. I just don’t understand why it’s my problem. If people want to use drugs and become drones, why aren’t they and their families allowed to starve to death to feed the habit. Why are severely rationed health care dollars being used to keep druggies alive when they have an obvious death wish?
It’s the same conundrum as open immigration to a welfare state. Why should my family go without so some 7th century family can have free everything for several generations while they are fighting assimilating.
Sadly … revisionist history has erased the REAL reason for the Temperance movement and the legislation of Prohibition. It was a WOMANS movement. Championed by WOMEN who watched their husbands become detached, useless, drunkards. The slovenly lifestyle of getting blotto-drunk every night was ruining American families and the economy. The roaring 20’s morphed into the raging drunkards. Prohibition was NOT a “religious” movement … it was launched to fight cultural ROT. Did Prohibition work? Nope. Mankind is driven by an innate desire for FREEDOM. And mankind is also driven by a desire to self-medicate their own emotional diseases. However, legalizing drugs is a slippery slope that could lead to another temperance movement or opium (dope) wars. It may not happen immediately after legalization … but eventually … a society and culture that condones drug use will reap the “rewards” of their own moral ROT. At the very least, the cultural and educational ROT will cause a spread of globalization as governments find the need to import a sober workforce. A workforce dominated by a particular Religion that forbids liquor and drug use … a morally-conservative culture that covers their women and shuns pornography. These are the people who will eventually inherit the ROTTED Romanesque Western culture. And then, ALL freedom and drug use will END. Be carful what you wish-for Leftists … you might just get it.
You could be right, but the situation I describe is what we had in the Victorian age at the height if Britain’s world dominance. The lack of government run social programs leads to a societal self correction. People can’t be dope fiends and survive or be successful.
Every guy I know that smoked pot regularly is dead of a heart attack or badly incapacitated because of either a heart attack or stroke. Every. Single. One. If you smoke this crap for 20 years, you are pretty much screwed.If you want to die at 55, be my guest.

You must hang out with defective humanoids. I have been smoking and now eating pot for over 50 years. I have at least a couple of dozen friends and acquaintances who are also life-long pot users. All happy, successful and relatively healthy for the advanced ages.
I am 74 and I still do pretty much anything I want. I ride motorcycles, work out with weights three times a week, do all the cooking in my home and most of my friends are pretty active in their lives too.
You need some new and healthier friends. I think those dead ones may have had other issues. Pot doesn’t kill.
No group of people watches more porn than Muslim men. When they are in charge, they won’t take it away, but they may discover the delights of porn snuff films.
