    Indeed. As pointed out here a couple of days ago, the DNC is debating whether they should financially support candidates who are pro life. It’s rare to find a pro life democrat and the party is now on the cusp of telling those who do hold those views that they are not welcome.
    It will shortly be the default position of the DNC.

  14. Excellent. People do not realize how lucky we are to have Rebel to bring forward the alternative view. It is a central part of freedom of speech/expression to ensure that all views have an opportunity to be heard. In today’s PC dominated and MSM anti-Trump reality, alternative voices are non-existent or quickly shut down. Food for Faith and Rebel to be fighting the good fight that keeps us all free. As a rule, they are not appreciated as much as they should be.

    I might argue that this is EXACTLY what was imagined. Why do you think the “melting pot” of Americans has been replaced by a “mixed salad”. A mixed salad of bitter greens, I might add. The more divided we are, the easier to control. And I blame the increasing Federal financial support for able-bodied citizens. It affords vast numbers of Americans the time and means to devote themselves to HATE and further division. These HATERS should be working for their living, not skimming it off the productive class. They shouldn’t have time for their “Intifa” or “BLM” or other violent HATE group. So what would have happened if the “white supremacists” had been completely ignored ? You know, the opposite of LOVE isn’t HATE … it’s indifference. You want to destroy the “white supremacists” ? Ignore them. But I suspect the leftist groups saw this protest as an opportunity … an opportunity to smear President Trump (and ME … and his other supporters) as equal to a “white supremacist”. Rubbish. The BLM, Intifa, and a mixed-salad of hyphenated groups came armed and ready for a showdown. I just saw a video clip of a masked BLM “counter-protestor” armed with a flaming can of spray paint shooting his weapon at a “white supremacist”. If I hear another LIAR in the FAKE media, like I heard on the radio this afternoon, refer to the armed, organized, and motivated (by HATE) “counter-protestors” as “peaceful” … I am going to puke on his shoes. The tossed salad version of America has spoiled and wilted … it is laced with salmonella … and has become deadly. Yes, the 3rd world Chipolte fare hasn’t gone down well in America … it’s tainted … with deadly toxins. Time for a return to the melting pot … where the cooking temperature serves to kill-off all the deadly pathogens that have been allowed to fester in our society.

  16. From my travels on the interwebz today I have come to these conclusions which on a public forum I would only say I may or may not agree with.
    Almost everywhere you look you see this rally called a white nationalist rally, from what I can tell that constant slander will not go unpunished. You know what else I see is that there are many many people that see the lefts actions as war and are resisting in what-ever way is needed.
    I saw this quote online earlier with many people agreeing.
    “They’re tearing down historical monuments. This is a warning from history that genocidal intent is in the cards. They are communists and they want all white people dead. I agree this looks bad, but War looks bad. They are murdering us every day in unreported street crime, brainwashing our kids to hate themselves and surrender to replacement, and they will come to kill us all if we don’t resist.”

  24. Clearly there are some nasty people among those alt-right demonstrators, but in my view, the Antifas and BLM are no better. These groups are also driven by hatred. Taking down the statue of Robert E.Lee is insulting to Southerners and deliberately provocative. It is being used by the left to sow racial discord. I don’t think there are any winners here. And, speaking of Nazi symbolism, don’t we gave a picture of our own Pierre Trudeau driving a motorcycle around Montreal in a Nazi jacket?

  26. There are two things innate within our human nature. A desire for something/cause/belief/identity that is greater than ourselves thus granting us a sense of purpose and a disdain for anyone who does not share our something/cause/belief/identity. We seek out those who are like us and go to war against those who are different. The greater the difference the more imminent is the war. As the left leaps to the left and in its craze for uniformity of thought it strikes at any one or any symbol of independent thought. Thus it destroys the General Lee statue. Not because Lee was a racist or that he fought for the wrong side but because he represents independent thought. The American civil war was not fought over slavery it was fought to settle which level of government would be preeminent. The north wanted a strong federal government so it could control the south. The south wanted the state to be the senior level of government and so give people a greater say in their day to day living. After all a resident of Montana would have much greater influence in Montana than a that same resident would have influencing Washington. Pierre Trudeau and Jean Chretien tried to make Canada a federation much like Lincoln did to the US and like Lincoln they had a near breakup of the nation. Canada didn’t split and it didn’t become a federation but some of the PET federation legacy legislation remains (Canada Health Act) that keep the provinces from innovating and coming up with a better way forward.

    While there is some who still maintain that “states Rights” was at the heart of the civil war, ultimately this is incorrect. Slavery was the true and actual cause.
    But it’s more complicated than one might first think. It is entirely possible and even probable that the common Confederate soldier believed he was fighting for states rights. That is because relatively few of these soldiers owned slaves. Most of the Generals did…. though not all.
    I think both U.S. Grant and W.T. Sherman got it right. Grant’s history of the war is a good read and is free for the Kindle. So is Sherman’s. Recommended even for Canadians. They both opine on the true causes of the war.
    Grant alleges that the common southern white man was debased by slavery because his common labors where considered beneath dignity….rednecks and hill billys were names used. Grant further alleges that the southern states were run by an quasi aristocracy of large slave holders who had much to lose …. cotton was like gold in providing wealth at that time. The common southern man had little or no status if slaves were not below him in rank. Grant’s wording and explanation, though not extensive, is better than mine.

    Of course it’s a provocation. To those of us who value our history, good and bad, it’s a huge provocation.
    But consider that in 1860 the southern states had a population of 11 million of which 4 million were black slaves. Further, although the importation of slaves was made illegal in 1808, there was still a demand. This resulted in slave mills …. think puppy mills. Virginia was noted for this.
    Slavery and the importation of black slaves was an evil with much to answer for.
    I think that what is lost today is the the United States is probably the most diverse country in the world (including the European diaspora) and today blacks in America are better off than in any other country in the world, including in Africa.
    Let me know when Canada elects a half black Prime Minister.

  34. Yes, the BLM riots were indicative of narrative breakdown. I think the point may have been that Charlottesville indicates a further breakdown, in that it is a natural response to the continued pushing and shoving from the left. The far left pushes, the far right finally pushes back. Now, can we put a damper on this, or will all the pushing and shoving grow to include those who are merely left or right but not prone to violence? I suspect it’s much more likely to grow.

  35. David in Michigan your liberal indoctrination is showing. The civil war was fought at a time when both sides owned slaves and imported slaves and sold slaves. Yes it was more common in the south but it was not uncommon in the north. No one was talking about the virtue of slave ownership. In fact the south banned the importation of slaves in their constitution before the north did. Lincoln the great emancipator was no friend of the blacks. He didn’t want the whites to own black slaves but he also didn’t want black men and women living in America. His idea was to put them all on a boat and ship them to Liberia.

    You commies wanted a revolution and picked the rules of engagement. If it is ok to punch a NAZI don’t go crying when the NAZIs punch you back.
    There would be no violence at the rally had the terrorist from ANTIFA and BLM respected others’ freedom of speech and assembly and just f***ed off. They picked fights and the alt right were very restrained in their response.

    It then follows, that because Canada is a Nation originally founded by the British & French, both once slavers, the Quebecois & Canadian flag must also be banned as inheritance.
    Of course Progressives don’t want to touch any of the Middle Eastern, Asian, Indian subcontinent, or African nations that still practice slavery today but those aren’t “white nations” so it’s fair game.

So all the poor Southern boys were fighting for the rights of wealthy plantation owners to “own” cheap labor that were doing the work the poor Southern boys just wouldn’t do ?   43. No, race as defined by liberals, which is skin color, is a social construct. Race as defined by biology has not specific skin color for any race. Only bigots think white is a race, or black is a race.
