Steven Fletcher booted from caucus

Harsh, but considering the circumstances, necessary.

The decision to shun Fletcher comes after a difficult year which saw the Assiniboia MLA frequently cross swords with his own party. He introduced numerous private member’s bills without consulting his caucus or submitting them to internal reviews. Fletcher also filibustered at committee a government bill that would create a stand-alone energy efficiency agency.
The last straw, the sources confirmed, was Fletcher’s collaboration with Manitoba Forward, an advocacy group that has also been very critical of the creation of a new energy efficiency organization.

Really, Steven?

  1. Steven was standing against the imposition of more energy efficiency mandates from up on high. He earned the support of the Canadian Taxpayer Federation. Fletcher is right and PCs are wrong and sucky as usual.

  2. MLA that stands against the creation of another bureaucratic boondoggle, what’s not to like?

  3. Remind me again why Wildrose wants to fold its tent and give all the power back to the PC’s?

  4. Yup.
There are no conservatives in The PROGRESSIVE Cons.
Reform is over, all hail Destroy ..
If kleptocracy cannot be reformed, via the ballot box, then it will grow till it blows.
Vote Never Done Paying, or PC it changes nothing, they all want to feed at your expense.

  5. Exactly.
And, surprisingly, this time I agree also with UnMe.
And as well, with John Robertson. Reform is done, gone into the dustbin of history. The forced Paris vote in the Conservative Party shows the liberal lites have taken over the party once again. It seems no one to vote for in the next election.

  6. It is just a simple political equation. If someone in your governing party caucus can
constantly spoil the focus of your media management even after being warned, they
must go. Some might recall a similar situation faced by dull Comrade Rae when he
was supreme ruler in Ontario. Charismatic NDP MPP Peter Kormos constantly and
effortlessly stole Rae’s spot light to the delight of all and was eventually sent packing
to allow the premier to get on with his hopeless reign and hopeless media relations in
a bit of semi conscious peace and quiet.
