  7. The only reason I still look at the NYT’s website is its science and technology news. However, thanks to the Internet, most of what I read there I likely already heard about.
    It’s simply a case of self-inflicted obsolescence.

  9. It has become apparent to me that the NYT’s has been using unpaid College student Interns to write all their editorials for quite some time. The FREE services are the only thing that’s been keeping the paper afloat. No wonder their content keeps getting more and more unhinged and divorced from reality.

  11. What ever will become of their crossword puzzles. It is about the only reason I would ever look at their paper. However their feed comes to my facebook page and lately their editorial stance is loonier than Alex Jones.

  13. I am old enough to remember when the GOP President understood what a danger Russia & the previous incarnation was the “evil empire” and not a country to praise. Russian ex-KGB presidents are not nice warm and fuzzy people worthy of praise and have only goals of destabilizing/destroying the west and recreating some mythical empire of the 1800’s.
    So what has happened to the GOP? — they used to understand that.

  14. I am old enough to remember that the Cold War ended in 1991. Islamic terror is the biggest threat the world faces and Russia is a good friend to have in that war. I suspect the only reason Russia maintains tension with the West is to maintain Putin’s popularity at home. Since the US seems to involve itself in so many foreign elections, why is it so surprising that somebody screws with their heads. What is the bigger danger to democracy – the Democrats defrauding Bernie Sanders of the nomination or the Russians possibly revealing the fact?

  16. I am also old enough to see many European terrorist organizations & the PLO collapse after the USSR collapse — ever wonder who was funding them? It was USSR and now Russia & Putin. ISIS came out of nowhere in 2014 just as Putin was making moves to seize Crimea, Eastern Ukraine and failed in SE & Central Ukraine as Ukraine quickly picked up how the plan was working and was able to stop it dead in it’s tracks.
    Russia is training similar forces in the Balkans and Central-Eastern Europe. It has actively attacked the election systems in Britain. Netherlands, Hungary, Czech Republic, France, Italy, USA and even Canada to start — others it has happened. Only the USA sticks its head in the sand and ignores it’s own intel agencies and labels them “Deep State”.
    Did you ever wonder why ISIS was so well organized? — many of it’s leaders were trained in oh my Moscow. They understood logistics, weaponry and military strategy & tactics — that is not a skill learned in a small village. In 2014 & 2015 many of the weaponry flights that supplied ISIS came from Russia, qu’el surprise. Take care of the source and the underlying problems go away.
    Follow the money. let the Intel Agencies, Treasury & FBI loose. Problem is they are not because the so-called GOP President works for the wrong team, the Russians.
    Follow the money and you will see.

Obungles and the brits supplied a lot of Toyota pickups to ISIS, and obungles refused to bomb their “oil” convoys to turkey, assad, and iran, all of whom were fighting against them.   19. It is coming — as most of it is classified is not in the public domain. Also NY state Attorney General is running a RICO case on Trump Organization money laundering of Russian mob money. Trump will die poor and in disgrace and in prison.
    Your ignorance of counter intelligence operations is astounding — very often takes years to build a case that can be run thru normal court systems.
    I would suggest you read Dr. John Schindler @20committee and his articles in the NY Observer which is owned by Kushner. You may learn a few things about the Intel Community.
    Also when one is taking down a president who has sold out the nation, one has to make sure the shot is clean and a kill shot because there are no second chances. The case has to be rock solid and beyond a shadow of a doubt.

    BTW where are Russian special forces now located? in Western Egypt in support of ISIS forces in Libya

    Do some book learning — you may also want to study bellingcat.com and their work at quantifying the Russian & Assad war crimes — also good at quantifying Russia’s involvement in shooting down MH-17 and Russias direct involvement in invading Eastern Ukraine — not civil war — it was an invasion at first small GRU units, then russian “volunteers” via russian military funded groups a la blackwater, and in the end direct military intervention with Russian VDV & Special forces units.

    Your politics are clear. You’re not going to find much support for your delusions here. Daily Kos is your natural home. There you will find the warmth of agreement. Here, only derision and contempt.
