    What a gong show the CBC has devolved to…defund CBC and redirect to the military. At least the military can SHOOT straight!

    Minor journalistic point: D Sqn of who? (12 Armd, presumably, but is CBC Ottawa so poorly educated that they don’t know they should name the unit and not the subunit?)

    I’m afraid the answer is yes. Canadian journalists are appallingly ignorant of military matters and thus lame “army man” reporting is pretty much the expected norm.
    I lived for some time in London, UK. What a contrast the British media presents.
    Whenever there was an item involving the British forces in the major media – even in a leftie-oriented paper like The Guardian – it was generally quite evident that the journalist responsible (a) had a some grasp of what the military was and how it operated and (b) clearly conveyed that understanding, whether pro or con.

  11. When I saw it, I just about spit out my coffee.
    The little orange military man icon in the infographic…
    One, the shape is pretty much WWII stahlhelm.
    Two, the little SS icon on the side.
    It seems unlikely, given the colorful nature of the various icons, that this was just a clip art mistake. This looks deliberate. Probably some smug lefty all proud of himself for sticking it to the military who are all oppressors or something like that.

    Yet, I recently received an email from the Trost leadership campaign and recently only six Conservative Party MPs voted on a Trost private members bill to privatize the CBC. A few abstained and the rest, including my own MP, voted with the Liberals and NDP to keep the CBC as is.

    No way of telling as the article isn’t signed, and original reporter likely would not supply the icon for soldiers.
    But someone did, perhaps a CPC MP might want to ask in QP exactly who is responsible. Ordinary soldiers are already having to deal with enough insults from this Liberal government and their Agitprop arm CBC.

    There’s that but the article did originate in Quebec where contempt for our military is a constant theme or alternatively it could be just the usual 9th grader mentality looking to provoke a response from ‘the man’.

  18. when I see people standing in the same amount of water on either side of the sandbags it seems to me that it is time to forget the sand bags. the floods are causing a lot of damage and the only recourse is to start over. I see on the news this am the usual bleeting about what the government is going to do, why they didn’t do it fast enough. I guess people think the government now has the ability to control the rain. sorry folks carbon taxes don’t work.

    a hard core separatist. called the local mp, a Con, to express my disapproval of giving free air time to a traitor. came the reply, it’s their ‘right’ to voice their opinion.
    came my reply, yes, but why is the TAXPAYERS paying for the air time?
    Con lite goes waaaaaaay back.
