Truth Hurts.

Via Instapundit, I’m a little shocked that the author doesn’t realize that everyone in politics; pundits, media, staffers, politicians and especially partisans are all cynics and hypocrites.

So as I watch my friends and thousands of other Americans gather together to protest the inauguration, I find myself a little speechless. It cannot be that all of these people only see evil when it wears the other team’s uniform. It cannot be that they are more upset by offensive speech than by a man claiming the right to kill any human being on earth at his whim. These things simply cannot be. And yet it sure looks like they are.

  1. The majority of humanity in the west are essentially mindless looters and thugs. Yesterday’s vagina walk was about as mindless as they come. The left is premised on the notion that all virtue comes from the barrel of a gun, or threat of it’s use by the state doing to your fellow citizen or foreigner what you haven’t the courage or initiative to do for yourself and all masquerading under the fallacy of the “public good”, “good intentions”, altruism, equity, social justice, etc. How many individuals (other than the freelance socialists called crooks) lack the gall to hold up their neighbours at gun point to demand some of their money and yet vote for a politician promising the most free stuff and paying for it in essentially the same way? The political class are the people who broker all of this emotion, hysteria, greed, lust, envy, resentment and hatred into tribal political action and resulting coercion. It is a rare thing perhaps impossible that revolutionary concepts such as principles of liberty, rule of law, and limits on the state can survive in such a world. It doesn’t happen without a struggle.

  2. I’ve long held that no sport has more sore losers than democracy. These last couple months have definitely borne that out. Mr Trump won the election, and the way a democracy is *supposed* to work is that everyone should accept this and get on with business.
Instead we learn that many on the left are unhappy: they feel that democracy is only a good thing if they get the result that they want. It’s partly being spoiled: always expecting to get whatever you want in life. It’s partly being conceited: believing that your opinion is automatically correct and should be shared by all. It’s partly gullibility and lack of access to objective analysis, or being unwilling or too lazy to seek out information.
But the important thing is that democracy falls apart as soon as a significant portion of society is unwilling to accept the results. And democracy is a lot more fun than most of the alternatives that might move in to fill the void.
Even Barack Obama, who I have little use for, has acted in a reasonable manner during the handover of power, credit to him for that. His one-time followers don’t seem to be taking his lead though, they moved on long ago.

  3. Notice that exactly ZERO Dumbocrat leaders of any stature, have publicly and strongly proclaimed to stop it? Their own selfish ” THAT will show Trump” attitude will have consequences

  4. Her comment was in jest but you have a point, and of course the left’s hypocrisy is apparent.
What I was more troubled by was watching her drop an F-bomb live on CNN. A soon as it happened I wondered, “will she be called out by the anchor at the news desk?” who happened to be Brooke Baldwin — another fake journalist at CNN because she, like the others there, claim they have no political bent when the evidence show otherwise.
Considering that CNN attacked Trump on his use of what they deemed to be “vulgar langauge”, for me it was going to be interesting to see if Baldwin would call her out or would give the left yet another free pass, engaging in intellectually dishonesty in the process by pretending to be unaware from the news desk that CNN has gone after Trump for exactly the same thing. Needless to say, she said nothing. No condemnation whatsoever.
At this point, I’m less troubled by where we are in terms of the actual bias in the content from supposedly “non-partisan media” than I am by the presentation — the straight-faced delivery despite knowing that they’ve been caught engaging in hypocrisy once again. That, by far, is the more troubling aspect of this industry and those who are pile driving it into the ground.

  5. They are no different from the muslimes who tacitly condone terrorism by refusing to speak out against it.

  6. No irony and fully self-aware. What’s your point?
That we’re hypocrites too? Whatever, don’t care.
That we’re cynical? Talk to the hand.
That we accept this reality, and for the first time in my life, are using the tools of the left and the media against the ‘established norms’ is what’s important.
But I don’t expect you to get that, UnoMe, you took the blue pill and stayed in the matrix.
