Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, and the “Multiplier Effect”

“Buying rims doesn’t lead to long term economic growth. Paying for day care for your bastard baby daddy children does not increase the economy’s economic growth potential. But building a new plant or creating a new business DOES create jobs, DOES increase our economic growth capacity, and DOES improve long term, sustainable economic standards of living. But in the world of Keynesians they do not differentiate. Blowing $400 on grills for your teeth or tattoo sleeves for your arms is just as viable economic “growth” as investing in a new semiconductor plant.”

  1. “Buying rims”
    “bastard baby daddy”
    “grills for your teeth”
The overt racism doesn’t improve your argument. I’m 100% against political correctness, but I’m also against needless race-based slurs like these. It helps precisely nobody.

  2. Remind me again which consulting company you run so as I can avoid contracting your services, lol. “If you build it they will come” seems to be the jest of this piece.Perhaps the author can read this little gem of history:

Back in the real world, those “bastard baby daddy” offspring as the author so politely states are the real economic drivers that supply the demand for the building of that new plant or business. Look no further then Japan with little to zero immigration, and a declining, aging population. In a static/decreasing population base and increasing global competition, businesses look to retain their profit margins by efficiency methods including automation, or just moving their plants to foreign countries with cheaper labour and environmental costs so they can remain competitive. This is the current climate and the Achilles heel of today’s capitalism, which views growth and increasing profits, as the measure of a successful company which determines their stock price. The current solution, due to the West having fewer and fewer children is to import them, so they can pay for the aging populations social benefits and retain the size of the current GDP.

  3. Isn’t assuming that only people of a specific race do these things just a little bit….damn, there’s a word for this, hang on, I’ll remember it in a moment

  4. No Steve, that’s not ‘overt racism’. Calling them stupid níggers is overt racism. This is covert racism at the most and actually nothing racist was mentioned. Rims and grilles are purchased by many races and whelping out bastards isn’t confined to one race is it? Perhaps you’re the racist always looking for a covert example to blow out of proportion.

  5. Exactly. Suggesting that spending money doesn’t lead to growth or growth potential seems insane. It might not, but suggesting it absolutely doesn’t makes no sense. It’s like Tom Friedman dropped in on the blog.

  6. “Hey honey, does this new barbecue grille make me look racist?”
“I was going to buy new rims for my truck, but now I’m afraid it will make me look racist.”

  7. Anything that goes against Liberal Progressive agendas is now RAAAACIST!
We only need to take the “power of the state” to enforce their insanity on us away and it won’t matter anymore.
As it stands today, if you say or print the “wrong thing” you can potentially have armed men knocking or kicking in your door during the early hours of the morning. Then it’s Liberal judge or Human Right Commission deciding on whether or not you’re rights (privileges in Canada) to freedom & liberty will be allowed to continue.

“No Steve, that’s not ‘overt racism’. Calling them stupid níggers is overt racism”
I disagree, simply calling some black people “stupid niggers” is not necessarily overt racism, especially if the same individual can sincerely describe other black people with reverence. “Stupid Niggers” can be a descriptive metaphor used by black & white alike to describe a certain class of people whether they are white, black, or other (although primarily black). White is usually but not always replaced with “Stupid Wigger” for the same class of people.
Overt Racism, is defined as four black “youth” torturing a young white mentally disabled man for days while calling him by racist slurs as they live stream the video to the world.

  9. I am certain that EVERY successful rapper (0.000497 of ALL rappers) writes-off their; rims, grilles, fur-dashboard, cornrows, tats, et.al. on their taxes. So, for a very select few … the ghetto culture IS a de-multiplier … since the government got FEWER of some multi-millionaire rappers TAXES OWED. And we all know that if any 1%’ers (even rappers) don’t pay their FAIR SHARE … then the economy will go to crap.

  10. What is racist about buying rims? grills for your teetch (presumably to straighten them)? And bastrdry is not racially specific; I know.

  11. Because of Steve’s assumptions and generalizations about (presumably) negroes, then he is being racist. You racist, Steve.

  12. stevo, you know what they say….it takes one…..
any way, don’t choke on your double big mac

  13. What this guy doesn’t understand about Keynes would probably fill a second volume of the General Theory.
