  1. Thanks to AVI for posting this worthwhile link on the performance of the media this cycle.

The author was trying to keep his article short so that it would be read widely. He did not include the monetary pressures on media. I wonder how much insight Trump had, if it was his strategy to manipulate the weaknesses of the media, in that they sabotaged their own credibility, or if he was prepared to just roll through all the flak?
And lest we forget, this works both ways. There is a lot of contrived kr@p written about Clinton as well.

  3. I once got on my high horse and refused to pay one of those faux “parking tickets” issued by the parking corporation here in Vancouver, against the strongly worded counsel of my long-suffering wife.
The coupon had been past expiry by only a few minutes.
    It worked out real well.
    UNTIL
Months later, one dark winter’s nignt at 10 pm, after a concert, my wife called to tell me that her parking coupon was a few mintues expired and that the car was gone.
As it turned out the elephantine parking corporation had us on a watch list for non-payment of the “ticket”.
In 1969 when we first arrived in Vancouver shortly after we were married I parked in a lane downtown.
My new wife urged me not to! Don’t be silly I told her: they’re not gonna tow an out of province car.
Don’t have to tell you how that worked out.
Just one week ago my wife got her FIRST parking ticket in 40 years.

“Finally, the left no longer frames the debate”
“Trump, as we all know, doesn’t back down. This is why the far-left machine has become so insane in recent weeks. Earlier in the campaign, they thought they’d cornered a rat. Then they realized they just locked themselves in a room with a lion. And now he’s not only lashing out at them, but has jumped over them and is blocking their escape. For the first time in years, they’re the ones who are cornered.
This is why they’re trying so desperately to discredit him before inauguration day and make you believe he and everyone around him is a bad person. They’re trying to keep control of the message.
But Trump, for better or worse, doesn’t care what other people think. He’s shameless. Just like the left. They’ve finally met their match. Oh, boy, is it nice to watch.”

  5. Obama is a President and he bowed to the Japanese PM! He also bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia! I bet that nasty Trump will REFUSE to bow to the King of Saudi Arabia too! Very disrespectful!

“Warnings Of A “December To Remember” As No. Hemisphere Snow Cover Reaches 2nd Highest Level!”
“There’s been a lot of talk about the current warm weather conditions up in the high Arctic, but little talk about the impressive snow cover over the northern hemisphere and the extreme and vast cold over Russia and Siberia.
What happened is that the cold air mass that’s usually over the pole has split, allowing warm air from the south to make its way to the pole and displacing the frigid air southwards. It’s called weather, which we know can be chaotic at times.
With the cold air moving southwards, it is of little surprise that the phenomenon would lead to greater snow cover over the northern hemisphere.”

  7. No, I didn’t. What’s appealing about that piece is how it was arranged and performed. Then again, the Beatles did a lot of that sort of thing in their early recordings.
That’s nothing new, though. Many composers of what we commonly call classical music did the same thing. They took folk songs, rearranged them (usually for different instruments), and turned them into new compositions.

  8. I can well imagine what an ecosexual dating ad on, say, Craigslist might look like. However, how would a plant place one?

  9. nold and Deplorable – there are two songs
One is a rappish Beatles derivation – the other is a pure folk song

  10. Not just that, there are of course questions of consent, when one inserts the turnip where … others tend not to insert things, how does he/she/it know that the turnip really wants it?

  11. Have you ever considered changing your handle to Sarcastic Pat? Anyway, keep up the good work.

  12. I know the feeling.
I drove a tow truck for my Bro’s filling station when I wasn’t farming. I once picked up a Cadillac (at the RCMP’s request) that had been left on a private property by a couple who were attending a wedding here in town. Just as I was driving out of the yard, the couple showed up with their two kids. I informed them that the car had to go to the impound lot before they could claim it. They were royally upset. This was in the 80s when Cabbage Patch dolls were a fad. The young girl had her doll in the back of the Cadillac. She was about six years old, and as I was driving away she yells out, ”Touch my doll and you’re a dead man!!”

  13. Obecient lib-progs bow and fawn to royalty. Presidents do not. The reasons are not something lib-progs would understand.
