Ipsos…conducted the poll in September and hid the pro-Trump answers until Nov. 16, a week after the election.

Inquiring minds want to know if the schmuck that buried this poll result until after the election still has a job.
There isn’t a single person at ipsos that would have released this before the election.
Yes,he still has his job,and probably just got a raise.
The pollsters are as big a bunch of liars as the msm.
The polling was fine but who decided to spike it until after the Nov. 8th vote?
America is back. Western Civilization has her champion.
Will European elections of 2017 be allies again, joining the fight? Watch closely…
The moribund, reptilian MSM are ‘dead man walking’, replaced by Breitbart et al.
The MSM’s headstone will feature the Newsweek copy w/Hilary Clinton elected. 🙂
While the late release date of the poll is in excusable, the way in which the breitbart column is written is not much better – citing stats in an unbalanced way and completely looking the other way on the wall data.
Agreed. Munro’s writeup is horrid. The quick summary is that Americans supported all measures to control immigration, EXCEPT building a wall and deporting illegal immigrants who became such as children.
And they had these positions by large margins. So large that the Trump campaign would have known all this long prior to voting day. It’s perhaps no wonder that the Democrats campaign began to look so frantic in the last couple of weeks.
I suspect that the MSM may have known some or most of this as well. Which is why they focused on Building the Wall, because they knew that it was the one immigration control measure Americans were clearly opposed to.
Anyone seen a reasonable debate of the question: WHY are you so against a border wall? I’d be interested in hearing an unemotional, cogent response to that specific question.
There are plenty of barriers now without a wall that prevent people from simply walking into the US. At one time border patrol officers had the resources and were given the authority to prevent what was once a trickle from becoming the flood we’ve seen these past 8 years. Those crossing know their chance of staying has increased dramatically under Obama.
What a pack of shysters. They have lost any credibility they ever had. Can’t trust or believe the pollsters or the media to give us the straight goods…what’s left?
What percentage of poll responders lie because they know the polls are cooked?
If the US election results did nothing else it sure got the Left in a tizzy…things will never be the same for them, they lost their power. It’s fun to watch them wailing in the streets. Power to the people is just not their thing.
Ipsos is the Liebel Parties in-house pollster I believe. They get regular TV during elections to try and sway the vote. How do they sway? By dwelling on CPC shortcomings as derived from their ‘polling’. Well by now we should all realize that polling is highly subjective and not above being subverted.
Since the Trump victory the pollsters and the pressitutes have worked non stop trying to continue the lie they promoted. They utilize the street protesters as confirmation of their failed positions and a blunt force to establish some sort of credibility. This has worked in the past as previous governments have ‘caved’ under such pressure. We will see whether POTUS Trump can be an exception.
I am not surprised at these results…nor on these Jerques releasing it weeks after the election.
Manipulation, disinformation is all part of the Marxists wet dream – plenty more of this sort of thing that haw yet to see the light I’m sure….
Well, duh..
@cgh: “Americans supported all measures to control immigration, EXCEPT building a wall and deporting illegal immigrants who became such as children.”
I agree with your analysis but add this comment: I’ve always viewed the “build a wall” thing as a metaphor and a threat for increased enforcement, not a real solution. It’s certainly not practical physically or financially nor necessary to literally build a wall along the entire border …..and there would also environmental impacts (@glasnost, my reasons). So, if taken literally, then not much support from me either.
I thought the part about reducing LEGAL immigration was significant. Too bad it didn’t ask about reducing H1B visas as a subcategory. My sense is that even in California this might be supported as the tech industry is notorious for replacing citizens with H1B people (i.e., abusing the system).
“More importantly, a major reduction in immigration would force Democrats to give up their 20-year strategy of gaining political dominance by importing government-dependent poor workers and voters. Without a future wave of immigrant voters, Democrats would be forced to offer policies that are favored by a broad swath of ordinary blue-collar Americans — and the Democrats’ business allies would be forced to divert profits back into wages and training programs.”
Insert ‘Liberal’ in place of ‘Democrat’ and you’ve got the Liberal game plan.
Despite my own opinions solidly in the “75%” … I have to agree, that Breitbart is spinning the ball significantly in the statistical direction supporting their conclusions. However, I also have no doubt whatsoever, that if the poll results more solidly supported the conclusions that IPSOS was fishing-for … this poll would have been spread all over the Clinton media.
Americans believed somewhat justifiably that their swollen underclass doesn’t need reinforcement from legal or illegal immigration. I agree with David that the Wall was a metaphor for a “willingness” to enforce the border as any nation purporting dominance that can’t enforce a border on flat open ground is a joke. If there was ever a need to secure the Northern border, due to geography, the challenge would be significant.
The delay of this poll proves that Americans were behind Trumps policies more than not and these pollsters are obviously part of the “media” masquerade by the partisan left.
If we look back at history we can see that walls work. The Chinese built one that functioned well for hundreds of years and more recently I believe the Romans built one in less than ten years that kept the Celts out for a couple of hundred years until the Republic fell. So don’t tell me in this day and age it is impractical. For most of man-kinds history oceans, mountains and distances were ‘walls’ that prevented mass movement now we need to built walls to protect cultures that have developed over time if we think these cultures are worth protecting. On a similar topic it was the Trojan Horse that penetrated the “Walls of Troy”.
Men with machine guns are way more useful – if their rules of engagement permit their use.
Offa’s dyke kept the Romans out of Wales too. Don’t forget that one.
Sorry another , “Well Duh”.
Pollsters are part of the machine, they provide cover for the chosen narrative.
The deal, they and the Politician/Presstitute cabal lie to us; And we lie to them.
A perfect understanding all round.
And only the true marks believe a word of it.
Used to be, One born every minute, I guess it is now, One imported every minute…
Naturally a mouthpiece of the Progressive Parasites would not publish any information that might disturb their narrative.

betcha you’d get a different answer if you asked an israeli.

(nuke, bio or chem) incidents and people will be
screaming for a wall.

Not quite – when Offa was on the throne of Mercia, (think the English midlands), the Romans had been long gone. The original theory was that Offa built the dike to keep the Welsh out, but I’ve seen the opposite theory, that the Welsh built the dike to keep Offa out. Go figure
… and the Joos, just recently built a wall that has effectively STOPPED school bombings, disco bombings, falafel stand bombings, shootings, suicide attacks, and all manner of Palestinian Muslim mayhem. Virtually ENDED it. A wall that is modeled on the LOGIC of pre-flight racial and political profiling … which has led to a completely hijack-free El Al airlines. The problem is obvious. The problem is preventable. All without “discriminating” against peaceful Muslims who want to live in harmony in their host country.
Build the (gaps in the) WALL now ! Enforce our border laws NOW!
Walls have been used successfully in many eras and in many places. But yes, they are one part of a defensive system. Men with guns is the other part.
After all, the migrants aren’t [yet!] equipped with artillery!
Did I perhaps mean “men with guns ARE …”? Perhaps, perhaps.
@NEO:
You may be right. I just offered my perspective/opinion. But I want to provide the following info:
The United States has 1,989 miles with Mexico (and 5,525 miles of border with Canada). Now that length is less than 20% of the length of the Great Wall of China but it’s still mighty long.
How long is the Israeli wall? A rough figure is 420 miles.
What is the terrain like along the U.S./Mexico border? A huge chunk is either arid or desert wilderness…. uninhabited for the most part.
Finally, how long is the wall which is already in place along the U.S./Mexico border? A rough figure is 500 miles.
Interdiction would work better than a wall. As far back as the Vietnam war we had unattended ground sensors that would pick up movement. We’ve come a long way since then. Better to let them exhaust themselves in the boondocks before picking them up.
Build a wall where it makes sense and step up detection/interdiction in other places.
One other thing. Comparing Hadrian’s wall, the Great Wall of China, etc is not appropriate. The Roman’s weren’t coping with immigrants but with bandits, raiders, invaders. They didn’t feel the need to play nice….. so they actually fought and killed at their walls. And it’s pretty close to that in Israel too.
Nanos is also an LPC friendly polling firm, almost every day at National Newswatch there is another upbeat “poll” stating “65% of Canadians prefer Trudeau as PM” or some such LPC propaganda.
Is Gallup still in business, haven’t seen a poll by them lately.
A friend of mine grew up in Arizona in a small town right next to the Mexican border. The desert there used to be a pretty good deterrent for illegals to come in. Then the US government built watering stations for illegals to drink up before going on their way into this country. Now that border area is unsafe because of the cartels that control it. Flooding the country will illegals has long been a government policy. The trouble with anything Trump does now to stem the tide will be abandoned when the next Democrat or mainstream Republican President takes over. Goodbye, America, just as planned.
Last I heard, Donna Brazile still had her job with the DNC.
What was I thinking. Again the difference between progressives (read Libs/Dems/NDPee-ers) and ourselves is that we expect accountability, them not so much, maybe never. Getting back to the Roman Wall it was also used as a customs control point. Traders were allowed north of the wall and some Celts were allowed to visit the south but the wall fulfilled the function of keeping the masses out. As far as a Mexican-American wall being needed it would not have to be a solid structure but sections especially in the less populated areas could be controlled from gun towers with a 500 yard wide no trespass zone, suitably fenced and posted, with the understanding that anyone found in the no-go zone is up to something nefarious.
I agree with David that the Wall was a metaphor for a “willingness” to enforce the border as any nation purporting dominance that can’t enforce a border on flat open ground is a joke.
Exactly!! Anyone who didn’t understand “the Wall” was a metaphor to enforce border security was either naive or stupid.
We WANT the wall
We were promised the wall but Napolitano deep-sixed it.
The law is on the books and so is the funding.
Heck there is already a fund going where Americans can buy bricks for the wall. “American consumers learned of a unique opportunity to be part of American history: they can purchase bricks that will be used to construct the barrier, while simultaneously creating a memorial to the country’s deceased and fallen.” (CounterPunch)
Also the terrorists have a cell in Mexico near the border so we NEED the wall.
SEE: Judicial Watch • Cartels Help Terrorists in Mexico Get to U.S. to Explore Targets; ISIS Militant Shaykh Mahmood Omar Khabir Among Them
Glasnost, I would be against a wall if it I knew that there would be no enforcement of existing laws. Any new law or measure that duplicates existing laws and measures that are not actively used is useless. Like making a new law about gun ownership after a mass killing and conveniently not noticing that there were 20+ laws already broken – if the killers were willing to break 20+ laws already then adding an additional law could make no difference.
Building a wall and not having border enforcement would be worthless, so why go to the expense and trouble of building a wall in those cases.
The simple solution is to shoot illegal migrants on US soil and let their bones bleach in the hot desert sun. Pretty soon they’ll get the idea they’re not welcome and the numbers will reduce significantly. They’ve been coming in droves for the past eight years while the USSA had a muslime POTUS. He encouraged more illegals from Mexico because that’s the easiest way for his muslime terrorist buddies to sneak into the country.
Metaphor definition: a figure of speech in which a term or phrase is applied to something to which it is not literally applicable in order to suggest a resemblance.
In general “the Wall” refers to increased enforcement of border security. In some places it will be a physical wall, in others it will be increased patrols, arrest, and immediate deportation.
Here’s how I deal with the neighbor children who throw balls, toys, and assorted things over the fence and into my yard … I throw them back. Gently. Respectfully. No big deal. That’s what happens when you play near fences. I even invite them into my yard to collect their items when they ask. But make no mistake … they know that the wayward items will not be allowed to remain in my yard. I don’t want their things. I don’t want my yard trashed with their litter. I don’t have any use for their things … so they always get quickly returned. Back. on their side. of the fence. See how easy it is, Mr Obama. Give them back what is theirs. Get it out of our yard.
