Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal government has no plans to mark the second anniversary of the terrorist attack on Parliament Hill and the slaying of Corporal Nathan Cirillo at the National War Memorial.
“I am not aware of any plans to mark the anniversary this year,” Zoltan Csepregi, Manager of Media Relations for Veterans Affairs Canada told CFRA in an emailed statement Thursday. “I spoke with my colleagues at DND (Department of National Defence) and they are not aware of any events this year following the plaque unveiling last year.”

And we are surprised?
Are they still giving our soldiers “fake weapons” to use as props while defending the War Memorial in Ottawa?
Trudeau and Obama. Twins separated at birth?
Maybe Tom Beaver can organize a protest.
The Liberals couldn’t have a day of remembrance for the fallen soldiers as they were busy organizing a ticker tape parade for the Hero of Guantanamo Widdle Omar Khadr.
He won’t honour the dead who died in a terrorist attack, however he walks in gay parades.
Piece of Liberal shiest!
With all due respect, this is what November 11th is for. And yes, also for women killed during wars (for which there was some kind of ceremony last week).
Now, the key is, we also have to admit we are in an actual wars with those radical Muslims.
They simply don’t want to draw attention to the fact that their vaunted MC policies are deadly to Canadians.
These soldiers were killed by two mentally deranged civilians, remember how the line goes? It had nothing to do with Islamic terrorism.
But, let’s say the killers were Muslim converts and were killing for Allah, why would you expect that they would be remembered on November 11th? The only person who would have acknowledged it is Mr. Harper.
I’ll tell you what I’ll do. Tomorrow I’ll order a cross and lay it at our cenotaph on Remembrance Day in their honour.
October 20th-22nd 2014, these attacks officially declared Islamist jihad against the nation state of Canada and her liberty.
That is the nation-state of Canada, the one that P.M. Justin Trudeau doesn’t believe even exists anymore.
In addition, I think the soldier walking with Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent, who survived should be honoured, too.
To honour fallen soldiers, who were killed on Canadian soil because of the uniform they wore.
Dying in an enemy ambush while serving here, requires a name for the battle.
I suggest:
“The Battle of Parliament Hill Oct. 22, 2014” “The Battle of St. Jean sur Richelieu Oct. 20th, 2014”
Good for you and God bless.
Non Nobis Sed Patriae
This is why I quit the Cf after 17 years service. They don’t care about the troops – be they Liberal or Conservative – they’re props to trot out to score political points when needed then treated with contempt the rest of the time.
Perhaps their names should be added to the list of women who were killed by the first jihadi attack Canada experienced back in 1989 committed by Gamil Garbi (aka Marc Lepine).
Typical libs, they can’t wait to start a war. But when it comes to our dead. They suddenly have memory lost.
Sure Americans don’t commemorate 9/11 to signify resolve to stop terrorists.
After all they have November 11th.
Give your head a shake.
Thanx favill; The Marc Lapine/Gamil Garbi revealed the result of the miseducation of males.
Forcing Female Group Think on vulnerable young males.—–Not understanding Their Reaction to the Situation, especially the Feckless Male Teacher, would lead to a minimum of abuse to young women.
These young male students dutifully walked out of the room, past the insane male with a gun and allowed this Insane male to kill all of the young women.
The young men then stood meekly by and let the Insane man walk by them after the masscre to do what ever.
The killing of the Young Women must also lie at the feet of the Strident Teaching dutily following the Gender misrepresentation screed of every school these young meek males attended.
The article said that he was shot by the RCMP; at the time, it was said that the Sergeant-at Arms of the HoC shot him, which is right? Or is history being revised as we speak?
yup, lets remember all who have fallen individually. My question to you, is it for 100 years or 200 years we should do this. You can do as gellen said he/she is doing.

Slippery slope doing individual memorials. If we do that we are sure to short-change someone else who died in the line of duty every day of the year: not least of which are those whom take their own lives as a result of PTSD. It becomes too watered down, no matter how well-intentioned. We are better to stick with Remembrance Day and make sure that the PM and all Canadians focus on that day. Don’t think for a second that the Libs have thought it that far through though.
“And we are surprised?”
Exactly.
turdo la doo, like his old man, has an aversion to all things military. It’s a streak of yellow – more like a broad racing stripe – that runs through the turdo genes.
It manifests itself as contempt, disdain and utter avoidance of all things military; because anything to do with the Canadian Armed Forces is an irritating reminder of their (considerable)bravery deficiency.
But I would suspect that one of these days he’ll announce that Mohamed’s birthday should be recognized and celebrated and that July 1 be cancelled and his own birthday be celebrated as a national holiday in its place. I’m waiting for the lil’ Spud to start playing down the importance of Nov 11. I’m sure it will happen.
I’d be looking for a twit or facebook post, from one of his many staffers.
– So sad that Corporal Nathan Cirillo got dead … a great Canadian. If he had any family, friends, etc. I feel your pain.
It’s not up to you to tell me what I will or will not commemorate.
These men were not armed but were attacked by mutzi converts when they had no warning at all and no possible way to protect themselves. I’m sickened by both acts, but the killing of Cpl Nathan Cirillo while he was on ceremonial guard duty at the War Memorial was an attack on all of us.
These two incidences are unique in Canada and I mourn their loss. That you don’t is your business.
I still mourn the loss of an uncle I didn’t know who was shot at the Somme by a German sniper at age 15. He went over as a bugler to do his duty, which was to warn of gas attacks. I think we can all be assured that when the roll is called, you won’t be there.
