  1. I was impressed by a diesel Peugeot I rented in UK in May: engine shut down on any stop if the clutch and accelerator
pedals were not pressed. Then, if you push the clutch in and slightly press the accel, the engine restarted within
1-2 seconds. This is routine with gas engines in the Prius/Camry hybrids but did not know it was available in diesels.

  2. At least some natives have not swallowed Suzuki’s or Butts’ swill.
Forty B.C. aboriginal groups have quietly submitted supportive letters as Kinder Morgan and Enbridge tried to overcome controversy while seeking approval for their oilsands pipelines, according to a Postmedia analysis.
The letters appear to challenge the recent claim by a coalition of North American native leaders saying there is “unprecedented unity” against the megaproject proposals.

“Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as accessory to Aboriginal suicides”
“It may seem over the top to denounce Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Indigenous Affairs Minister Carolyn Bennett as accessories to death. But let’s wake them up! The PM lives by the $500 gourmet dinner on the prime-ministerial airplane, daily photo-ops and acceptance of the ritual headdress from the Tsuut’ina First Nation near Calgary. But like President Obama’s acceptance of the Nobel Peace Prize, what’s Trudeau been doing for Aboriginals to justify the honour?

“Barack Obama appears to be a narcissist.”
“The “small people”, the “rank and file”, the “loyal soldiers” of the narcissist – his flock, his nation, his employees – they pay the price. The disillusionment and disenchantment are agonizing. The process of reconstruction, of rising from the ashes, of overcoming the trauma of having been deceived, exploited and manipulated – is drawn-out. It is difficult to trust again, to have faith, to love, to be led, to collaborate. Feelings of shame and guilt engulf the erstwhile followers of the narcissist. This is his sole legacy: a massive post-traumatic stress disorder.”

  6. Amazing article, a must read.
“Like my fellow patriots, I did not know the GOP was playing us; afraid to oppose the black president on some issues while siding with Obama on others. For 8 years the GOP claimed they were powerless to stop Obama from being the most lawless president in U.S. History; powerless to keep their campaign promises to push back against Obama’s tyranny; powerless to stop Obama from using government to punish his opposition; powerless to stop Obama from destroying our economy; powerless to stop Obama from implementing policies which endanger American lives.”
And then, along came Trump, “I will make America great again!” The same way a dog-whistle can only be heard by dogs, Trump’s promise perked up the ears of the American people. The America-hating Left and political establishment could not hear the renewed hope that Americans heard in Trump’s proclamation.”
Fat and happy with the “Washington cartel” status quo, politicians in both parties were outraged that a mere commoner who does not even know how to speak pro-politician would dare enter their domain.”
Unless something big breaks, like a debate knockout punch or a rogue FBI agent, the writer’s optimistic view of a Trump victory seems unlikely.
Barring a fifth column Trump vote, while the anti-American virus has not reached critical mass, with two other candidates, it’s close enough for Hillary.

  7. Hey Ken … here’s an idea for all the “first peoples” of North America … STOP fighting the “offensive” depictions and “cultural appropriation” by “the white man” … and instead, sue for licensing rights. Sue to take a healthy cut of all PROFITS from jersey sales, ticket sales, everything associated with; The Cleveland Indians, Atlanta Braves, Washington Redskins, Florida Seminoles, etc. In the same way “native peoples” erect “Indian Casinos” … they should just exercise copyright laws over all imagery, and labels depicting native peoples. Then, on to suing each city with an Indian name, from Mauntawk to Merced. Cha Ching !!! Is there any easy pot of money the Tribes won’t grab with both hands ? Then we can all sit back and watch the peaceful Tribes fight each other to the death, for their share of the pie.
And watch the NIKE designers … unleashed from political correctitude !

Aliens want to help humans but are afraid of violence on Earth, Apollo program astronaut Edgar Mitchell wrote to Podesta in 2015, citing an impending space war and the Vatican’s knowledge of alien life.
“Because the War in Space race is heating up, I felt you should be aware of several factors as you and I schedule our Skype talk,” wrote Mitchell, who died in February 2016.
Terri Mansfield, who describes herself online as “the Director of the ETI (Extraterrestrial Intelligence) Peace Task Force” has also been mentioned in one of Mitchell’s emails. Referred to as Mitchell’s “Catholic colleague,” Mansfield is also said to be attending the meeting with Podesta “to bring us up to date on the Vatican’s awareness of ETI.”
On her website, Mansfield describes ETIs as being “the highest form of intelligence working directly with God.”

  11. There is a simple solution to this earth-shattering problem. The Indians just have to wear their jerseys with Cleveland on the front and their caps with the “C” logo while playing in Toronto. Although some might classify this as pandering to the perpetually offended, it is the easiest solution and Mr. Cardinal, who is so horribly bothered at the sight of Chief Wahoo can stfu and move on with the self-righteous satisfaction of having accomplished something monumental. Besides, Miller and Allen can strike out Blue Jays regardless of their attire.
Mr. Cardinal is living proof that education and success can go hand in hand with idiocy.
And yes Ken …. “Our society just keeps getting sicker and sicker by the month.”

  15. More directives from the UN. Canada — first up at the plate to screw the economy for unproven ideological reasons. Whatever they replace hydrocarbons with will I am sure be expensive and pointless — just like that forced change to twisty (and expensive) light bulbs which are ruining everyone’s eyesight while doing nothing for the climate.

  16. just like that forced change to twisty (and expensive) light bulbs
Nobody was forced to buy compact florescent lights.
I had enough incandescent light bulbs ‘on-hand’ to cover my lighting needs until efficient daylight-spectrum LED lights were available, didn’t you? There was ample warning that common incandescent bulbs would be unavailable.

  17. Not sure where that diesel engine factory is, but it’s sure not in Canada. Not a single worker wearing a hard hat or safety glasses. And some of the practices on the shop floor that would be considered unsafe here.

  18. In that Bob Dylan story Obama is quoted talking about Dylan’s visit to the White House:
“He didn’t want to take a picture with me; usually all the talent is dying to take a picture with me and Michelle before the show, but he didn’t show up to that”
I was going to say something about Dylan’s strange ways but now I’m not so sure he’s mad after all.
