Blog Notes

I’m back from our annual trek to Montgomery County Kennel Club near Blue Bell, PA, and still catching up on both the news and my energy levels.

We did well, with all the dogs we showed consistently in the ribbons. The weekend highlights: Homebred AmCh.Destineez Wild Blue Yonder was Best of Breed at Hatboro and Best of Opposite Sex at the National Specialty, while his brother AmCanGrandCh.Minuteman Justified (pictured above) took two awards of merit and Select Dog at the National Specialty on Sunday.
I’ll post more photos a I find them, and blogging should be ramping back up to near normal levels by tomorrow. Thanks for your patience with this canine obsession that takes me away so frequently, and to Lance et al for holding down the fort!

  1. We killed Lance and buried him in the woods. Oops! Did I just say that out load ? 🙂

  2. Can’t hold a candle to my old Greater Glengarry Moosehound, Jerome, but I gotta admit, that ain’t a bad looking little pooch.

  3. Welcome back, Kate …you are always missed when you’re away.
The curiosity is killing us …driving through the U.S. to and from Pennsylvania what was the ratio of Trump signs and bumper stickers to Hillary signs and bumper stickers? Enquiring minds need to know. Thanks in advance!

  4. We drove from North Dakota to Millwood, VA and the only Hillary sign said “Hillary for Prison”. I didn’t see any genuine Hillary signs until we were near Philadelphia, and those were all on public property.

  5. Kate? Is that a wedding band on your left hand or an engagement ring with the stone turned palm in?

  6. Sorry … I cannot EVER get the characters from Best In Show out of my head whenever I see dog show photos.
Which Character closest approximates you Kate ? Christy Cummings ? No no no … maybe Cookie Fleck, because she and Gerry Fleck were showing a Terrier. Then again … I could certainly envision you getting as agitated as Meg Swan in her desperate search for a bumble bee toy … ?

  7. “Best of Opposite Sex”? I didn’t know there was an “opposite sex” anymore.

  8. Kate you gotta do what you gotta do and you can’t go wrong with dogs. As a life long lover of dogs so far I have not looked back on that decision. All of my dogs have been adopted from one source or another and have taken every one of them in as family members. Understand your pride in them. All the best.

  9. Oz…you’ve been around for a long time…thought everyone knew Kate is married to a ‘regular’ on here who does a great job of ‘holding the fort down’.
Congrats Kate! Thanks for the good news about your dogs and the lack of signs.

  10. Welcome home Kate.
He is just a beautiful pup… you deserve a medal too for your perseverance and hard work.
and, thank you Lance – love your stuff, especially your ‘recipes’.

  11. Did not know Kate was married to lance. I do have to say that considering the things some people say about lance generally that it’s amazing that some people aren’t lambasted for saying those things.

  12. Hi, Kate! Welcome back and a big congratulations for your success!
The Clinton Crime Family has a lock on most of the media, but Trump has inspired a great swath of the American people. (The next month is a nail-biter!)
