Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

So they give the cops weapons to what? Shove up their butts?
Excellent.
I hope the armed security for these Commissioners are the first to obey their wisdom.
Time for the Police Chief to organize a fact gathering tour for the Commission, to the worst hell hole of his city, on welfare day and then have the cops providing security…Run Away.
Funny how the self Important Parasites demand police protection, yet seek to prevent the police from protecting themselves.
Attacking on duty cops with weaponry is properly called suicide by cop, or evolution in action.
Frankly, I think the cops in the U.S. should go out on a 48 hour strike just so society can be reminded of what happens when they aren’t around.
“The Los Angeles Police Protective League, the labor union of the city’s police officers.”
Hmm…. The Police unions & their lawyers have been protecting racism in the membership for decades… The whole profiling issue was/is a cover for racist officers who abuse power, the Union and Courts protect the status-quo. The truth is that each successive generation produces more racism..White racism & Black racism…
Until the Unions/Lawyers/Courts have a zero tolerance for racism.. racism will always be suspect in every judicial & police action.
Nothing in my comments may, or may not, apply to particular incidents
That’s the way I saw it in NJ & NYC
Well … of course it has come to this, what did you expect after every other method of non-lethal force has been attacked by the criminal rights lobbies? Tasers ? Nope, they can cause heart arythmeia. Bean bags ? Sorry, they have been known to leave massive subdermal hematomas. Choke holds ? Don’t be silly. Nothing left to do but run-away. The lefty anarchists are WINNING ! Nothing left to do but self-arm, and self-protect. Say … can I start paying 20% less in taxes supporting law enforcement and law enforcement pensions ?
We hire police to protect us from armed people. If they are going to run away from armed people we could fire most of them and deal with armed bad guys ourselves.
This reminds me of something I read on a different website a few days ago.
Someone, presumably affiliated or sympathetic to BLM, suggested that hostilities could be reduced if there was less policing of blacks. Therefore, he went on to say, shoplifting at Wal-Mart should be made legal because a great deal of animosity arises from being caught engaging in such petty theft.
Wal-Mart giving away free stuff as part of its business….. yeah, right.
We need Law & order…The Soros demonstrators are crossing State Borders to engage in Riot/Looting/burning… That is a Federal (FBI) crime…Obama is mute..I hope Trump will insure that State demonstrations are not infiltrated by interstate criminals….
No way Deplorable Kenji!
Just look at Canader, and what our cops are tasked with here, for example, in Wangcouver and Whacktoria, the cops are literally tasked with helping junkie addicts hold their needle and protecting them from harm.
That’s the new dynamic, along with chasing all those evil taxpayers using their cell phones, for $550 fines. THAT’S more important than shooting threatening, “harmless”, armed black criminals
Oh those poor poor cops, always vilified never at fault. “This is how bad it has gotten for cops these days: GA policewoman shot by a black man while on duty finds herself charged with 4 felonies, all because the black guy didn’t exist…and she wasn’t actually shot”: http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/police-officer-charged-with-fabricating-story-that-black-man-shot-her/ar-BBwyRoK
Well at least in NC the governor and legislature are going to help, “the (law) law would balance “public trust” (good one) with the rights and safety of police officers”, Translation: “no more police dash cam videos for you peasant, we cops know better what you need to see”. http://www.cnn.com/2016/09/25/us/charlotte-police-video/index.html
Jackbooted thugs one an all.
“Jackbooted thugs one an all.”
Wow! That’s a harsh generalized statement.
I know some cops. They are top drawer people.
I expect some cops are a little suspect in their character. However, in the main, my observations have been that they are decent humans.
Colon, you have great ability to prove ignorance on a wide variety of topics.
Hope you need a cop some day and you eff up on dialing and get my number, I’d just kick your stupid a$$ for you
Well, you’ve got one thing right … only law-abiding WORKING citizens actually PAY fines for infractions. The criminal poor IGNORE the fines … and COST much more to prosecute … so their fines are usually dropped or lowered. Sadly, it is a lot less expensive to be a poor criminal.
When they stop behaving like an occupation force, when they stop opposing any measure of oversight I will listen. Until then they are the enemy just like the thugs they occasionally fight street battles against.
“Hope you need a cop some day and you eff up on dialing and get my number, I’d just kick your stupid a$$ for you”
Hope springs eternal. Just make sure you don’t bite more than you can chew little Chihuahua.
One of my relatives was a police officer in two different places. He quit his first job because of internal corruption and he left the second one because things got too dangerous and he and his wife at the time were going to become parents.
Someone I grew up with joined the RCMP after graduation and stayed with them for about 20 years. Afterward, she worked with the school system, maybe because of what she had to deal with during that time.
They do not like oversight, so they grab a guy legally filming them and then accidentally record themselves while conspiring on what fake charges to throw at him. They are stupid, dangerous, petty and vindictive. https://www.veooz.com/news/ZLapFVt.html and none will be fired, and the only punishment will be in the form of their sergeant chewing their asses that they got caught, and all their previous fraudulent testimonies will stand, and innocent people they lied about will continue wasting behind bars.
Jackbooted thugs one and all.
“We hire police to protect us from armed people. If they are going to run away from armed people we could fire most of them and deal with armed bad guys ourselves.”
Oh please we do not hire police to protect us. Police are there to prevent us from protecting ourselves, to arrest us if we do.
There’s been a decided change in how Canadian cops act, and what their political masters instruct them to do.
And now, at least in Canuckistan, their orders are to monitor and fine law abiding taxpaying citizens, as you say, they pay their fines (We are all suckers). ALL of us are potential customers for the politically correct Canuck police.
Do not mistake yesterday’s top shelf RCMP, for today’s PC pantywaist force.
FYI, My late uncle was a longterm policeman, starting way back with the BC Provincial Police, finishing as an INSPECTOR (as he corrected once, sternly!) with the RCMP.
That era of cops were cut from a different cloth. Today’s cop, in Canader at least, is a PC babysitter, looking to penalize taxpayers, while coddling the druggies and addicts. PATHETIC! Its all about social engineering.
American cops are just trying to maintain policing skills as they should be. Leftwing politicians, as we see, are constantly retying to cut them off at the knees.
What I wonder is, how many times does a cop, or group of cops, have to yell “DROP THE GUN!” before the perp (and the armchair quarterbacks) understand that, that means “DROP THE F_CKING GUN OR YOU’RE GONNA BE SHOT, MOFO!”
Do the cops have to write a letter at the time to spell it out to the perp? Or, as, the various apologists want, wait for the perp to actually point the gun before shooting? Are they really that thick? Oh yeah, cops are the bad guys, the black perps are just misunderstood. Repeat the meme, cops bad, black perps with guns misunderstood.
Is there an English comprehension problem with perps? Why is there an attitude amongst the perps, and their apologists, that they can randomly IGNORE police commands, and not expect bad things to happen? Is it an intelligence issue? Is it a hearing problem? Is it an attitude issue? Or are blacks above the law, especially the ghetto/project types? or are we all just Deplorable™ trash /sarc
“American cops are just trying to maintain policing skills as they should be. ”
Oh LOL, policing as it should be! http://www.steynonline.com/6524/cigars-but-not-close
“So the biggest government in the free world chooses not to keep statistics on how many people get shot by law enforcement. So be it. It does keep figures on “justifiable homicide”, which it defines as “the killing of a felon by a law enforcement official in the line of duty”. When is a police homicide not “justifiable”? Ah, well. At any rate, for 2012, the corpse count was 410.
By comparison, for the years 2012 and 2013 in England and Wales:
‘No fatal police shootings.’
In the Netherlands:
‘The average for the last 35 years is three dead and 15 injured…’
In Germany, a nation of 80 million people, police in 2011 fatally shot six persons. In Denmark, police shot 11 people in 11 years, and this was felt to be so disturbing that the National Police Commissioner held an inquiry into why his cops had gotten so trigger-happy. In Australia, 41 people were shot by police in eight years, and the then Justice Minister Amanda Vanstone (whose friend thinks I’m “eminently shaggable”, but I digress) thought that that was too high. In Iceland, police have fatally shot just one suspect. That’s one guy in the entire history of the country. He was killed by police last December.
So comparisons between the kill rates from American police and those of other developed nations aren’t worth bothering with. Indeed, the “justifiable homicides” of US cops are more like the total murder count for other advanced societies:
In Oz, the total number of murders per year is about 270, so a nation of 23 million would have to increase by 50 per cent to commit as many homicides as American law enforcement. In Canada, whose urban police departments have absorbed certain American practices, a dozen or so people get shot dead by cops each year, which is again somewhat short of the US rate. Indeed, that 2012 “justifiable homicide” figure of 410 compares to a total Canadian homicide count for 2011 of 598. In other words, in America 120,000 or so full-time law enforcement officers rack up the same number of homicides as about 24 million Canadians.
That strikes me as on the high side.”
Read the rest yourself.
“Repeat the meme, cops bad, black perps with guns misunderstood.”
So cute, he thinks that cops are shooting blacks. Newsflash for you, they are less likely to shoot blacks than non-blacks conditional on the same offense. Reason: blacks show up to the riot and JBTs take notice. When they murder a white man none gives $hit.
I agree with you Joey but let’s make it a couple of weeks. The people of the US really need to experience how much will go wrong if the thin blue line is not there to protect civilized behaviour from the animals.
They did that in Georgia (country not the state), all cops got fired… the crime rates went down.
It isn’t the cops themselves that are the problem. The problem is the police union. Without unions, bad cops would lose their jobs and/or go to prison.
Public-employee unions should be illegal. There is too much conflict of interest.
“DROP THE F_CKING GUN OR YOU’RE GONNA BE SHOT, MOFO!”
Sure, tell that Levar Jones, Charles Kinsey, Walter Scott, Terence Crutcher or Philando Castile.
Looking at some of the comments, I believe there are many different levels of law enforcement officers. RCMP are at the top of the scale, as are FBI in the USA. Some of the worst are local cops in smaller towns. We don’t have that problem in Sask. most towns are patrolled by Mounties. Bylaw officers are a pain, but they’re not armed. I have friends on Calgary police force, super guys!
I was hunting antelope on a ranch along the 49th, many years ago; I accidentally crossed into Montana. The Sheriff was either from Glasgow or Malta, I was about halfway between the two counties. He pulled behind me in a 66 F-100 with a star on the door. I apologized after he told me that I was about 2 miles South of the border. He laughed, and informed me that I was quite fortunate that the US Border Patrol were having a meeting, which is why he was on patrol that day. He informed that ”The Mounties were the best guys I ever dealt with.” I agree 100%.
A couple of years later I was stopped near Warroad, Minnesota at night. Minnesota Highway patrol. I was delivering a deep freeze to my sister in Fort Francis, Ont. They had shotguns out, they had me open the freezer. They were after escaped convicts. Scary experience for a Sask. farm boy. They were doing their job. When I stated that it was highly unlikely that a Con could survive inside a deep freeze, and that he would most likely suffocate, the older of the two, holding what appeared to be a Remington Bushmaster 12 replied, ”We’ll be the judge of that.”
