In 1944, my aunt, an overweight 40-some yr old, invited my mother and I to join her for a day to one of the island prov. parks in our area. After a couple of hours, she decided we ladies could row across to an island on the American side to buy a few things at the grocery store (this was during food rationing).
(In those days, no one carried life jackets so if we’d been swamped, the three of us would have sunk like stones.)
As she was rowing through the choppy waters in the area known as the 40 acres, she said to us: Keep an eye out for the Coast Guard. What??
You had to be there to appreciate it.

I happened to be at that event as an observer. This moronic event has been going on for around 30 years. All it is is a bunch of pissed-up youngsters trying to float down the river to Marysville Michigan. Homemade rafts inflatable kids swimming pools and anything else that floats. Unless you are some kind of pervert that gets off on tragedies, it is a non-event.
Last year some kid drowned. This year they got lucky. I would have shipped them to the bridge and made them walk across the border to home. Just more of the same from the entitled little pricks.
One little Allahu Akubar and we could have given them asylum and 60 k a year!
