I tried that once. I wrote a letter to my MP about something that concerned me. Rather than being contacted directly by him, his secretary called me and gave a marshmallow response.
When something like that happens, it makes one wonder why one should even bother. It’s like when I’ve written to certain corporate executives. Usually some low-level underling telephoned and talked a lot of air pudding. Nothing was ever resolved.

Liz, I have written prime ministers, premiers, and mp s, it was and continues to be a waste of time. I have been lied to face to face by our elected members and have nothing but contempt for most of them. how we always manage to have some of the dumbest people in Canada running for political office is beyond me.
Given, as every day passes Harper looks better and better compared to these schmucks, this is a good move by Justin.
