Here, Tell These People Something They Don’t Know About Me

Politico: Donald Trump said last night after winning each of the five Acela Primary states by 29 or more points: “As far as I am concerned, it’s over. … I consider myself the presumptive nominee – absolutely.” He’s right about both. To the pundits who’ll try to infuse next week’s Indiana primary – Ted Cruz’s last stand — with melodrama and cosmic significance: Good luck. Trump won Connecticut by 29, Delaware by 40, Maryland by 31, Pennsylvania by 35, Rhode Island by 39. I think the voters are trying to tell us something.

  1. Indiana is the test. Trump has to win to keep on track to win on the first ballot.
    He knows that.
Just as he knows that if he doesn’t win outright on the first ballot he loses.
So he can bluster all he wants. And you can bet he will be campaigning hard in Indiana.

  2. Time to suck it up Establishment/National Review and act like a man. (I’m picturing that scene from the Godfather when Don Corleone smacks around the Sinatra dude.)
Mind you I’ve been a Cruz supporter this whole time, but the writing is on the wall fella. You need to go.

  3. I was hoping that Cruz could take on Trump one on one and win.
Ted Cruz pretty much got his wish, and Donald Trump is beating Ted with Trump is getting over 50% of the voters too.
I wanted Ted, but I will happily vote for Donald.

  4. If they deny the clear people’s choice this time around … that may spark the civil war that the USA has been headed for since the rise of progressive policies that are destroying that country.

  5. You need to close an italics tag in the post please.
It is bleeding italics down the page.

  6. IT was over when Trump won Virginia & Florida…The science of Polling has the same problem a AGW Models. The freak’s fake negative numbers & create mythical conflicts. The reason that Kasich polls well against Hillary is the result of bogus or lack of data… If a John Doe beats everyone, flush the flawed system.
Trumps negatives are exaggerated beyond believe.. He will totally destroy Hillary! The Media has to start telling the truth, or they will lose their most loyal followers. NYC & the east Coast know Trump and the childish BS doesn’t Work.
The sweep of the East Coast & Southern States has an absolute prediction for “Congressional” Republican success following Trump into the general.

  7. I was really hoping for a Trump vrs Saunders. A right vrs left instead of the vanilla pudding down the middle choices over the past 25 years

  8. Cruz simply proved to be a horrible candidate. Awful. Truly awful. He lives in an old-fashioned, bash-you-in-the-face, evangelical, Christian, time warp. Jesus will help with his entry into heaven, but he hasn’t promised to help Cruz into the White House. If Cruz truly IS a Christian … then he should YIELD to Trump. He should render unto Caesar, that which is Caesars. He should get out of the way, and go back to work in Congress … hopefully by supporting President Trump.

  9. Trump ain’t exactly “right”. He’s just another New York democrat and has been all his life, but he’s sure got the low information voters fooled. A skunk can hide his stripes for only so long…..

  10. After last night’s slaughter, I bet Lance had a hard time getting out of bed this morning.

  11. Uh … you’ve been saying that about every “next” state after every MASSIVE Trump win … for several months now. Only, this time we are much further down the road. So can I count on you to say Cruz is FINISHED after another Trump win in Indiana ? With or without Kasich withdrawing from the ballot (my guess for the “big” Cruz announcement today). Can I count on you to get behind President Trump ? Or will you support “Independent” candidate Cruz … just to spite Trump ? THAT could be the final trump card played by a malignant GOPe. The GOPe created Trump … so they might as well support “their” candidate.

  12. As much as I am an ‘anybody but Trump’ kind of person and would have preferred Carson or Cruz I think Trump sealed the nomination when Cruz and the establishment decided to skip the primaries in Colorado and Wyoming. It played directly into Trump’s hand and his ‘establishment is out to screw us’ message.

  13. Newsflash: there are few true conservatives in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island.
Who knew? Who knew that A democrat running in the GOP primaries would get a lot of votes in Democrat states?
Frankly, I’m still rooting for Cruz since I don’t want to see a presidential election between two Democrats, one of them a crook and the other a celebrity (can’t wait for Schwarzenegger 2.0).

  14. If Cruz wanted to establish himself as “Establishment Man” he could not have done better than this half assed,Stop Trump fiasco.
Cute bit of voter manipulation with the remaining candidate and the party backers.
Too cute, blows his “Outsider” credentials all to hell.
What are we gonna call Indiana?
    Cruz’s last Stand?
    Alamo Two?
Or the Black Knight returns to fight again?
I predict, after Cruz loses, his supporters will be claiming;”It is just a flesh wound”.

  16. Blowout. Obliteration. Bury. Annihilation. Extermination. Elimination. Eradication. Wipeout. Destroy. Decimate. Massacre (last syllable pronounced “Cree!).
Ceilings? We don’t need no steekeeing ceilings!
Even Fred Barns is coming around although that idiot Bozell isn’t. He just penned an “open letter” at BB (who published it with a YUGE  disclaimer at the top).
Damn, last night sure was satisfying…
Oh, and that black homosexual Don Lemon beat Miss MeGYN last week during that drool-festival over the pervert Prince.
That was good to read as well.

  17. Plus there’s also that poll out recently showing The Trump at 50 percent nationally.
Not even Shrillary gets 50% nationally.

  18. How many times can Trump say the same ‘nothing’ in a victory speech. Pretty brutal. It makes me think there is not much depth there but how fair is that conclusion? Like many Trump supporters I have to assume there is depth there. He has built a company in a pretty brutal industry and quite frankly his family interviews very well.
Contrast Clinton’s victory speech where she did a pretty good job talking to the converted and setting up the yardsticks of her presidential campaign. One does have to wonder how the debates go.
Trump’s biggest challenge will not be Hillary but the MSM. CNN panels did not even try to hid their contempt for the man. After every debate these people will tear Trump apart. It won’t make any difference if he adds depth to his thoughts or not. At least one panelist, a token Republican, got out the comment about how every GOP presidential candidate had been vilified back to 1900. The DEMs clucked about that but had no real comeback.

  19. The fact the main stream media is trying so hard to destroy Trump tells us they know he is the most likely to win.
If he was unlikely to win, why would they work so hard bashing him?
Trump will almost certainly be the next President of the USA and he will make the USA great again or at least greater than it has been lately.

  20. Levin is a Nut Case…He is certifiably mentally disabled. What responsible position has he held in the last 30 years?.. An “LEGAL” opinion from the funny farm.
BTW: Democrats elect sleazy Lawyers.. Cruz is what? What Jobs do lawyers create? Does wealth distribution quality?
    JMHO

  21. Actually, when he said Bernie Sanders should run as an independent, I had a bit of a chuckle.
    Haven’t heard that before.

  22. ct: I share your concern about the depth and relavance of Trump speeches. We’ll see with Trump’s foreign policy speech, underway as we speak. I notice he has not changed his delivery that much, just a little more deliberate, with a calmer demeanour and some meat on the bone too.
Though foreign policy is the lower of national concerns, Americans are tired of government, and tying the Dem’s ludicrous claims climate change claims demonstrates nicely Trump’s argument that the Democrat statist governance is out of touch, which damages all their credibility, not just Hillary’s.
If Ted’s monster announcement today is to announce the known support of the Indiana governor, he will look the fool, trying to move the channel from Trump’s foreign policy speech and town hall with Greta at Fox today.
Trump won’t win on the first ballot because there won’t actually be one. He doesn’t need Indiana at all, though he currently leads. Cruz could take all their delegates and Trump will still secure his majority, unless his overwhelming support in California suddenly vanishes.
Trump started the campaign by more or less underperforming polling going into primaries but still prevailing with voters. Now he is overperforming polling on vote day. That trend will continue. I’ll trust my model which has more correctly called the NY and yesterday’s races; he surprised even me, securing 109 delegates, not counting the free range Pennsylvanians, whose votes at convention won’t be required.
It’s over; turn all the guns on Hillary; now. I wonder if the Donald will pull a big rabbit out of his hat by offering Rubio VPOTUS, though Trump vehemently denies any choice for now. Maybe Cruz has beat him to the punch today. No worries, just pivot to Christie, Fiorina or Carson.
I agree on the media, stuck behind the curve. CNN was apoplectic with outrage over Trump’s negatives, well dealt with in Kate’s related thread:
“Your brain has not yet compared Trump (alone) to Clinton (alone). You have only compared conflated concepts of a Clinton/Sanders creature to a Trump/Cruz/Kasich/Romney/Ryan creature. You think that isn’t happening in YOUR head, but it is. That’s how all of us are wired. We don’t compartmentalize as well as we think. When the race gets down to a clean Trump versus Clinton contest, and people realize there are no other options, the comparison changes. Trump wins the matchup against “crooked Hillary” with ease, based on skill, not policies. You haven’t even imagined that contest yet. Your brain won’t let you.”

  23. Trumps speech was GOOD he took a few swipes at Hillary
    1. “She went home to sleep during the Bengasi attack”,,, No 3am phone call…
    2. International agreements that don’t respect American values and domestic economic control. (like AGW)
He hit all the usual hot buttons…Hillary has to counter

  24. I agree with both you and Phillip. Essentially short on details and substance and long on values and where the US should be. Sound like any past President we know? And the more outraged CNN gets, the more you know it’s working.
At this point, with Trump’s lead he needs to start forgetting about much concern about Cruz/Kasich. Act like the frontrunner and turn the thunder against the real enemy, the Hildabeest.

  25. Trump’s speech was right on the money! (Other than his mispronunciation of Tanzania:) He says out loud what others merely think.
    John Bolton was impressed.
    Cruz is toast.

  26. “I wonder if the Donald will pull a big rabbit out of his hat by offering Rubio VPOTUS, though Trump vehemently denies any choice for now” Shamrock
I hope Trump goes with Rubio.. The right fit.. Rubio has the RIGHT answer for illegal aliens & as VP could be tasked to push and obtain a bipartisan congressional bill very fast….
Rubio is on target with regard to Hillary. She lied to the families of patriots who died under her authority. What difference does it make? Rubio is good at hammering her
Rubio will relate to the Bernie youth…they need a GOP voice
Rubio is the GOP future, if he gets the chance
    JMHO

  27. “So he can bluster all he wants.”
He’s doing a lot more than blustering. Trump’s foreign policy speech came at exactly the right time.
Cruz’s slip sliding around helped put him out of the running.

  28. From the article linked…
TRUMP, quoted by WashPost Style section’s Reliable Source, describing “Girls” creator Lena Dunham yesterday on “Fox and Friends,” after she said she’d move to Canada if he’s elected: “She’s a B actor and, you know, has no mojo.”
F&*k them all Donald. On Sportsnet’s hockey roundtable when they were doing the Islanders Panthers game on Sunday, George Stroumboulopoulos dropped Lena Dunham’s name when referring to New York as the hometown of Lena Dunham. Rogers viewership is down UUUUGE since they took it over. The biggest negative feedback is that the host George Strombo, isn’t connecting with audiences. Who in the diddlyoo watching NHL Stanley Cup playoffs knows or cares about Lena Dunham? FFS
Our country will need a Conservative leader who is a bar room brawler with a touch for the numbers by the time the next 3 1/2 years of being bombarded by this current pansyism government and media. Punch them right in the F%^king face, kick them in the nads, stick a finger in their eye type of person, man or woman don’t care, just want them to possess the riot gene in their DNA.
Gord Tulk, you have made some very interesting and meaningful points over the past decade here, but I gotta say every post on this topic from you drops your favourable numbers in my book. You’ve made your point you don’t like The Donald, but all this scheming and skull-doggery you are supporting, not cool. Best to quit while you’re still ahead. You’re on the wrong side of this one, time to switch positions within the same team. JMHO

  29. A poll was just released same day showed Hilary creaming Trump 50-39. And that poll was in line with all the other polls.

  30. You claim the media is out to destroy Trump? Yet they are giving him 10 times the coverage of any other candidate on either side.

  31. The hot rumour from Fox now is Cruz will choose Carly Fiorina as VP nominee, presumably to shore up California. That’s a good choice for him, politician running with a business person, but it won’t get him enough bang for his buck. If the rumour is true, this move again reeks of desperation because it is so premature for this type of announcement and takes the thunder out of that appointment being made later on.
If true, Trump can let it roll for a while longer then go for Kasich or Cruz, who would be the professional politician that rounds out his ticket.
No matter what, Trump still wins. He’s way ahead in California where Trump voters won’t abandon him for the Cruz/Fiorina ticket. He’s too far ahead, with his momentum growing, for this to work. Trump should definitely keep his powder dry and focus on Hillary only.
If Carly is Cruz’s VP nominee, has she accepted hastily, when she may have been on Trump’s short list, who’s said he likes all the departed candidates?

  32. If you think Rubio is the GOP’s future is, they deserve everything they get. Zuckerberg’s personal senator has DQed himself for his immigration stance. Rather like Jason Kenney should be.
Killary can’t beat Trump. That said, should she, they also deserve it.

  33. But Cruz can’t beat Trump and yet he’ll beat Hilary!
Do you supporters of Cruzman-Sachs ever listen to yourself? The majority of voters want Trump. They should get Trump. That is how voting works. You’ve lost. It’s over. Let it go. The people do not want your candidate.
The mainstream media’s coverage of Trump has been all negative. I find it baffling that you think that means they like and/or support him.

  34. Read the accompanying article about the “lead” Hillary has.
The fact Trump gets lots of coverage is irrelevant to the fact CNN and other media hate him and hope he loses.
The MSM would sell out their grandmother for more ratings, so grudgingly cover Trump, ever hopeful of their gotcha moment, from that Fields idiot, to moronic failed billionaire articles , to the criticism of telepathically induced directives to violent do-gooders, so succinctly coined by Dennis Miller.

  35. Trump is a strong conservative on issues that count MOST. The WALL, stopping illegal immigration and the migrant invasion, re-building the military, U.S. defense, proper care for veterans, fair trade practices, the economy and jobs, infrastructure, NO Common Core education, stopping stupidity re. ‘global warming’ and getting Congress functioning well. Etc.

  36. I don’t believe a word coming out of his mouth. And why should I? Trump says what he thinks u want to hear, like a used car salesman. He flip flops daily. His positions are the opposite of his positions prior to the campaign. Trump has been a Democrat his whole life and that’s what u can expect from him in office.

  37. ” That attitude elects Hildabeast, that reprehensible token vajayjay candidate”
Watch out Dan, Broom Hillary will soon announce that she is a trans in order to scoop up that minority demographic.

  38. “If true, Trump can let it roll for a while longer then go for Kasich or Cruz, who would be the professional politician that rounds out his ticket.” Shamrock
The Cruz/Carly campaign “issues” can be career ending for both of them. Cruz would make a good AG, but NOT if he is building a alternative political group to a Trump administration. He will be outside looking IN
Carly makes some weird decisions, maybe HP was right….funny no other Company offered her a position.. Good CEO are in demand even after they have a F*** up

  39. “If you think Rubio is the GOP’s future is, they deserve everything they get. Zuckerberg’s personal senator has DQed himself for his immigration stance”
If you follow the issue Rubio was “Not Wrong”, his mistake was getting in bed with Democrats who set him up…
The final solution, which America will accept, is very close to what Rubio articulated in the debates..
    I get to vote! JMHO

  40. Actually I meant to say Kasich or Rubio could be a good VP choice for Trump. Cruz has eliminated himself from consideration for VP or any other senior position, but then again six months is an eternity in politics. Cruz isn’t considered a team player in political circles, so he’s likely banished from influence.
I personally like Carly, if I were deciding she would likely be my choice. I don’t see her as a great choice for Trump VP, given she’s from business like he is. In Indiana, Bobby Knight backing Trump is a way bigger coup than Cruz getting Fiorina, and she cannot stop the Trump train in California.
My prediction is Trump will win both Indiana and California, though the former by the smaller margin.
Then can the GOP truly get its act together and back Trump, or will they skulk back into their circular firing squad suicide pact of Trump denial?

  41. “Trump has been a Democrat his whole life and that’s what u can expect from him in office.”
    That’s absolutely untrue.
As for political parties, I don’t know many people who stick with the same party for their whole lives. I certainly haven’t.
