Hillary’s breathtaking lack of concrete achievements or even minimal initiatives over her long public career doesn’t faze her admirers a whit. They have a religious conviction of her essential goodness and blame her blank track record on diabolical sexist obstructionists. When at last week’s debate Hillary crassly blamed President Obama for the disastrous Libyan incursion that she had pushed him into, her acolytes hardly noticed. They don’t give a damn about international affairs–all that matters is transgender bathrooms and instant access to abortion.

She just generates her word salads with no reference at all to reality.

Paglia makes two very good points in this. The first is this:

Of course it is. Bush I was followed by Clinton I, in turn followed by Bush II. In the current race, Bush III has been forced out, and Hillary is trying to become Clinton II. The Great Republic is reverting to an earlier model when great families ruled the empire.
And Paglia is also correct in pointing out that Clinton’s career is devoid of any positive accomplishments, but instead littered with abject failures.
Hillary should be in jail. that she is running for the highest office in the country shows how far the intellect and morality of Americans has fallen.
If you want commentary and you like a left wing viewpoint …. Salon is you best choice.

I love reading Paglia. I don’t always agree with her, but I can appreciate her point of view because she’s more willing than most leftists to be critical of her own side.
Queen worshiping, always wondered what the term was for her popularity. Years ago the Royal York hotel in Toronto changed its name to the Fairmont. Reason being that Americans were/are adverse to anything with a monarchy connotation. Hillary has become that which she HATED … when she was an excruciatingly homely college girl hanging on Bill Ayers every word. Hillary is a thoroughly modern leftist elite. The corridors of power and $$$ have embraced the leftists who FEED their corporate interests with abundant tax dollars from the little people. The Average American has been sold out by Big Business interests who now curry favor of leftist politicians. The new left is the same as the old right. I wonder how long before the average leftist voter wishes-up, like Paglia certainly has ?
As I said to a friend whilst watching the Dem debate the other night: On what planet and amongst which electorate is she a candidate? All she does is scold, obfuscate, and screech at all within earshot.
Paglia is simply pointing out the obvious, that Mrs Clinton cannot point to a single legislative accomplishment in 25 years as A Democratic insider, White House assistant, Senator from N York, even wife of Arkansas Governor.
As Secretary of State she was a spectacular failure, and remains under investigation for her actions in that office.
But she does know how to raise huge amounts of money, and that appears to be all that is required to ease her way toward the White House. And yet still many support her, perhaps like Canada, real accomplishments are so yesterday, when measuring fitness for office.
The name was never changed from “Royal York”. ‘Fairmont’ was added to signify the hotel belongs with other Fairmont-branded hotels, after they bought them from CP (Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, Fairmont Chateau Laurier, etc.)
Well it is a mean cruel world out there, outside our borders there is little human kindness in the ruling bodies.
So maybe those who support Hillary see themselves as realists.
