  1. Pallister a old Reformer takes MAN. Congrats. Add Brad Wall in SASK and hopefully WildRose in AB, eventually. All with Reform roots.
That leaves B.C. My brother-in-law recently got involved with the provincial Liebels on an advisory committee in Kelowna. He quit after 3 months as meetings quickly became more a top down one way experience. More a fishing trip for $ contributions. In my riding there is no organization. This is in huge contrast to the Dippers who have an elected MLA and who consults regularly with her constituency. I suggest this government is at serious risk of losing to the Dippers next election. Their org is actually worse than the CPC was prior to that disaster.
As an old Reformer who argued against moving the party to eastern Canada I would suggest that a united western Canada is an absolute necessity to protect the West from eastern Canadian imperialism and quite frankly possible protection from eastern DEBT. A Reform minded party in B.C. is absolutely critical. I suggest the Liebel Party in B.C. is extremely weak and can be ‘redirected’ from within.
The last federal election was little more than a ‘high school’ popularity contest which did not, as usual, debate any of the serious challenges faced by the nation. Only a united political movement that controls all 4 provincial governments in the West can effect change.

  2. Macleans? I stopped reading that leftard rag years ago, when they ditched Mark Steyn’s column, although I still like their toothpaste.

  3. Macleans is unlikeable … they just haven’t realized it yet. Self awareness is an important survival tool. Goodbye Macleans

  4. Macleans is only used to decorate Dentist office waiting rooms so why would anyone read, let alone pay any attention to it. It’s only in existence because they got the Spawn’s father’s government to chase “Time Canada” out of the country with Can-con BS.
Kudos to Kenny. The public needs constant reminding that Harper had a higher popular vote percentage than the Spawn.

  7. Stopped reading Macleans years ago. I refuse to even pick it up in my dentist’s office – I get ill each time I open it so ignore it now.
Good for Kenney for pointing out the bias in the media….it never goes away.

  8. McLeans eh…they lost any respect I might have had after the Steyn HRC case with those POS Muslimes from Ontario.
I would agree with CT on the uniting of the West into a unified force to combat Eastern Imperialism….one can see evidence of this: Billions for Bombardier..where it is not required (tax money from across Canada)…and outright finger in the air No, to a little handout to the 100,000 unemployed or ANY move to speed up the Pipeline approval process ….one can smell the rotten odor of Gerald Butts in much of this.

  9. What ever will the care bear tag team in the PMO do when the west turns solid blue again?
Why, turn on the pipelines again and tax the shit out of what is exported through it of course.

  10. If you mean the national popular vote, there’s really no such thing is there? You can track it but it’s irrelevant.

  11. I am so proud of Manitoba voters for seeing through our NDP supporting media and voting the PC party into government.

  12. I’ll say it again; cabin boy just got in under the wire of the blowtorch of voter discontent with cynical politicians by getting his mediocracy buddies to push Harper into it, whose greatest failing was not totally distancing himself from establishment politics, though that’s easy to say now.
Change the federal election 3 to 6 months either way and Harper wins again, even the unethical circle drainers of our dinosaur media couldn’t have stopped it. The Conservatives must avoid establishment old school politics with complete disdain. Show leadership not just by appearing prime ministerial, but by demonstrating solid leadership and policy discipline based on the premise of limited government being best.
People call Trump a blowhard because of his terminology. But his imprecise tone is that of the disaffected, who care nothing for ideology, political correctness or free stuff that isn’t free. The code is easy; when Americans say they don’t trust “Wall St,” they mean crony capitalists who committed fraud & instead of doing time, got a fine that was more than compensated by excess profits. When Trump talks about stopping Muslim immigration, he’s talking about security & illegal immigration. When he talks about making America great again he means limiting the size and scope of government and its job and growth killing policies, instead opting for tax cuts to stimulate the economy from the bottom up rather than the white elephant stomping about in the room of government, as we see now with the self-serving political class.
Tap into this with a positive message that we’re in good shape for now, but cannot continue with tax, spend and borrow policies that ultimately drive down prosperity with the attendant coercion of big brother require to keep a lid on dissent. Consistency as always is the key.
This is happening now, here, not in some third world despotic regime. People are fed up with this but at the same time enough of them go for the nice hair fueled by incoherent ABH trances because they were deeply cynical of all government which included Harper, so no risk was seen in removing him.
We can’t get caught up in that again. Justin must be turned into a one term wonder for our grandchildren’s sake, given we’ve already sold out our kids.
The chill over freedom of speech is but a harbinger of the future coercion required to continuing seizing of our productive capacity and thus our freedom, until all private incentives disappear and socialism, which causes poverty and fear, pretends to give us all free stuff as the cure for their fatally conceited megalomania. Free becomes meaningless, since all things are made by some according to the means, and given to others according to their wishes, but with no exchange of values – just direction/coercion.
Put value and values back into society, not by edict or “management,” but by consistent application of the principle of good & limited government.

  13. It’s very important nowadays to know your source. Then the message from Macleans makes perfect sense.
Pallister wins Manitoba. Is he a Lib? No?
    Unlikeable.
If he’d won all 57 seats he’d be more unlikeable.

  14. I guess at MacLeans support for the Never Done Paying cretins runs deep, of course not as deep as their man love for the Liberal Child God.
This year is going to be highly entertaining, I have been watching Notley appearances ,she seems to be realizing the old saying;Careful what you wish for.
Reality seems to be breaching her careful aura of delusion, perhaps the realization of personal incompetence might trigger some humility and self examination.
Of course the knowledge that she is out in 3 1/2 years, no matter what she does(short of governing as a realist), probably frees her limited conscience.
Time to screw with the Progressive Conservatives of Canada, I think I will renew membership after all,in the CPC, then insist on Harper as leader.
The media has already spent millions demonizing the man, selecting him as leader once more would blow their minds and establish the rules of engagement on conservative terms, never surrender.Never negotiate with treason.
Harper derangement syndrome has served the haters, now let it serve the rational.
Best of all, Harper can claim, he tried incrementalism and we got Just-In.
Save the West dump the rest.
Of course if we could find a real media savvy bomb thrower, then Steve can continue his well deserved rest from the slander and abuse.

  15. this just shows the different scales used by the lying main stream media to convince us of the truth of lies.

  16. Jason Kenney…PRICELESS!
Hence federally 61% find JT “UNLIKEABLE”…I’m sure that will make the next issue of the dinosaur media on the front page at Macleans.
    Cheers

  17. So Pallister’s the poor basta** that now has to negotiate with the Manitoba Metis Federation AND the Manitoba First Nations, and then try to get any businesses to locate there
This election, one of the poorest Provinces in Canada finally got sick of their communist masters and turfed ’em, but with over 50% of Manitobans earning their keep via the government, taking away free stuff or negotiating with PS Unions is going to be interesting..
A small victory, but a victory nonetheless. Congratulations to my home Province for finally smartening up.
Now for f***’s sake patch those axle busting potholes in Winnipeg.

  18. Harper 2011: 39.92% of the poplar vote =not a legitimate government, no national mandate.
Trudeau: 2015: 39.47% of the vote: overwhelming national mandate.
On average an Alberta PC PM got 40K+ votes to win; most Quebec liberal MPs got in with fewer than 15K votes. Four liberals in PEI together represent about the same number of votes as one Calgary MP.

  19. A Mcleans was the only thing left that I could find to wipe
with in an outhouse once, couldn’t soil myself, just got up and left, something about a liberal rag being that close was more than I could bear.

  20. That’s awfully nice of Mr. Kenney to take time out from his pandering to immigrants to notice the rest of Canada. How sweet.

  21. Kenny was personally responsible for getting the Conservatives a large part of the “visible minority” vote, which was in turn responsible for its electoral success.
To do so, he had to win several arguments with Harper [& wear a lot of funny hats].
    {Sorry, it’s Maclean’s}
The inside story of Jason Kenney’s campaign to win over ethnic votes 2 Feb 2013
// Later, back in the car, Kenney notes the Conservatives won 24 of 25 suburban Toronto ridings: “Without the support of the ethnic communities, we could never have done that.” The Conservatives estimate that they captured 42 per cent of the country’s ethnic vote last election—more than 30 per cent of their total vote, and more than any other party. “I have no intention of stopping now.” //
    http://www.macleans.ca/news/canada/welcome-to-my-world/
But the two-tier citizenship that the Conservatives brought in undid a lot of that.
Harper went a little bit crazy towards the end.

  22. part of the CPC problems is they rushed legislation, without giving everyone a chance to pick it apart and make it better, some of the stuff that came out of them was good and other pure crap. Now I see more of their legislation is being overturned by the courts. Doing a bit less, but doing it well would have meant still being in power.
