  1. Leader of Alternative für Deutschland interviewed
    Conflict Zone – with Frauke Petry FULL EPISODE 23.03.16 | 17:30 – 18:00 UTC
Tim Sebastian interviews Frauke Petry, leader of the Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) party.

Doing well in the polls, but rightists groups tend not to play well tegether:
// “Everything you are doing at the moment is complete shit,” hissed one board member. “How am I supposed to interpret that?” a dumbfounded Petry replied. “What about the word ‘shit’ is difficult to understand?” came the answer. //

  2. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchewan/porcupine-plain-bridge-fire-accidental-1.3509065
Some of you may have seen this article (or story) about a railroad trestle that was accidentally burned near Porcupine Plains, Sask. A local resident, Brian Foster, acknowledges that he set a grass fire that accidentally spread to the trestle.
Of course the CBC made a headline story out of what is essentially a CNR environmental disaster that was accidentally cleaned up. There are several places in Saskatchewan where railroad companies have pulled the tracks and abandoned trestles, railroad beds and other debris. If anything, Brian Forster should be given a Governor General’s medal for having cleaned up the mess. Abandoned railroad trestles will eventually fall apart, blocking the river or creek’s flow and causing flooding and other headaches for agriculture upstream.
I can imagine if an oil or mining company would abandon piles of creosote treated lumber near a river or lake, we’d have every environmentalist in Canada talking water and soil samples on site, the CBC would be on the scene, and Trudeau would be standing there with the collection plate in one hand and jar of Vaseline in another. But CNR, hell, that’s an old Liberal buddy, just let it go!

    Attention:
Someone has re-created my Facebook page that looks 100% like mine and is sending ‘friend requests’ to my Facebook friends.
Please beware of such impostors and report this jihadi to Facebook if you don’t mind.
    Thanks.

  4. I don’t attend church, except funerals and weddings. An old retired Baptist minister once told me that God lives within the heart, that’s where he makes his home, and not within the confines of a cold stone church.
As for disrupting a Catholic mass, I don’t condone the move, however it does happen. I grew up in a predominantly Catholic community. A hypnotist arrived in our town one day, however the priest condemned his act that was to take place at the local movie theater. Hypnotism was considered sinful. The condemnation however did not sway the community. Saturday night, the theater was packed, the hypnotist gave a great performance. This was 1966.
On Sunday morning, the hypnotist walked into our church. He got up in front of the congregation, and started out by telling the priest that he should mind his own business and allow those who were in showbiz do their thing. A couple of parishioners walked up to the hypnotist, however the guy was about 6’6” so they backed away. He told the priest off royally, then walked out. I wasn’t in church that Sunday, nor do I know whatever happened to him, however if I recall, his name was ”The Great Albert.”

  5. Reading the comments to this article really sheds light on the utter stupidity of some people. Comments about having to rebuild the bridge, making the new bridge out of steel and wasting money on a bridge that sees only three or four trains a month gives you a good picture of the average CBC viewer. Can these people not read? Do they not understand the concept of an abandoned railway branch line? This particular portion of rail line was abandoned in 1999. The rails are gone. The ties are gone. There are no more trains and there never will be. Reading such comments gives me some understanding of how the Liberals got so many votes.

  6. Other denominations would not condone hypnotism either.
But many of us could tell stories by the hour I expect.
I was at a meeting in a U.C. hall celebrating a No vote concerning bars. Can’t remember all that was involved but it greatly angered the Yes side. A big burly R.C. hotel/bar businessman stormed angrily into the hall ranting like mad. Our small gentle pastor quietly led him out the other door. (His mother would have been appalled at his behaviour, but not his father.)
An R.C. in our small town of nearly 5,000 was marrying his lovely lady-like Presbyterian fiance when there was a commotion and striding into the church and down he aisle was his loud-mouthed mother (organist at the R.C church)trying to stop the ceremony.
This one I personally like: my grandfather attended the church service before Nov. 11th (held at different denominations each yr) in the R.C. church. The priest said something about Protestants my 5’3″ grandfather took exception to so he got up and walked down the very long aisle and left. Wish I’d been there.
Also wish I’d been at the church in 1918 when the priest wouldn’t allow my grfather’s coffin to be taken to the front of the church (reason unknown as he was a practicing Catholic). My Protestant grmo wasn’t having that so the undertaker took the short cut to the Methodist manse while my grfa’s coffin was placed back in the hearse amd driven the long way round to the Methodist church. The minister performed the service and my grfa is bur. in the non-denominational cemetery. At least he can be with his family there. Unless the Protestant spouse turned on their death bed, he or she is buried alone while the family is buried in consecrated ground at the R.C. cemetery. At least my grfa was spared that as his 6 yr old son died of leukemia 5 yrs later.
This recent story happened about a month ago in a nursing home (R.C. owners). My friend and one of her daughters were alone at the time in palliative care. Her former R.C. husband was breathing his last she suspected, when all of a sudden in burst a big heavy nurse who dropped to her knees and began some kind of hand-waving mumbo-jumbo my friend and her daughter didn’t understand and a few minutes behind later came a priest they’d never seen before and some more mumbo-jumbo took place. After these two left without a word to the now widow, she and her daughter realized that the priest had given the last rites to her husband, which would have been against his wishes if he had been conscious. Turns out his R.C. sister in Que. had contacted the nursing home and made the request.
Not R.C. bashing as my brother turned when he married (but not a practicing one). We all know that “religious” people can behave quite oddly at times, as can all fanatical groups.

  7. “How high-tax Canada is driving away billionaire entrepreneurs like Murray Edwards”
    http://business.financialpost.com/fp-comment/the-tax-climate-refugee-murray-edwards
    ———————————————————————
This is bad news for Western Canada.
The Canadian oil billionaire from Calgary, who the U. of Sask. College of Commerce is named after, fed-up with Rachel Notely’s NDP and Trudeau’s Liberal policies,is moving to London, England.
The lost tax revenue will be significant for both levels of government, and his investment acumen and capital are vital for the Alberta/Saskatchewan oil business.
If this leads to lost investment, too. That will slow down or reduce the recovery.
It may be a very expensive loss for Western Canada. Elections have consequences.

  9. German rail service to roll out ‘women-only’ train cars amid fears over migrant assaults.
The Regiobahn line between Leipzig and Chemnitz will situate the new carriages next to train conductors to increase security for women.

This will finally stop all the rape and Mis…carriages of justice..
Thank goodness the Germans are making their women feel safer..
Uhhh… How do you put new carriages next to a train conductor ??

  10. “German rail service to roll out ‘women-only’ train cars amid fears over migrant assaults.”
Such train cars are a tacit admission of defeat. And who will enforce “women-only” cars if a couple of belligerent males decide to enter them?
Rather than juggle around with rolling stock, it would probably be no more expensive to simply add a burly (and quite conspicuously armed) uniformed police officer to the existing train crew.
But that would take gumption on the part of a government minister.

  12. I totally disagree. Those old trestles are a part of history and should be left. Without fires they will last a long time. You’re making a mountain out of a mole hill.

  13. Is this the same Murray Edwards that made secret deals with Notley and endorsed her Carbon Tax? Talk about political cronyism. No big loss, he can stay in London just don’t let him back in.
    http://www.therebel.media/alberta_oil_tycoon_who_backed
Murray Edwards, the Calgary oilsands tycoon, is reportedly moving to London, England, for tax reasons. Remember when he shocked the province by endorsing Notley’s carbon tax. That’s like a chicken endorsing Colonel Sanders!
We soon found out that Edwards company, CNRL, had negotiated huge subsidies in Notley’s carbon tax scheme — his company won’t be out a dime. They might even make money off of it. That’s how Notley got Edwards on board. The carbon tax will just be for the little people.

“Imagine the horrific fate of the losers after the climate policy debate ends”
“Summary: The appropriate public policy response to climate change is one of the great issues of our time, driving one of the longest yet inconsequential debates in modern US history. Yet everything comes to an end, eventually. This post speculates what that end might mean for the activists and scientists on each side if they lose. The consequences of defeat might mar the lives of ten thousand people in America (more around the world), yet has been little discussed.
Are you now, or have ever been, a climate denier?”
