  1. Gardner appears to be nothing more than a simpleton who fancies himself to be quite clever. I don’t think there’s an individual on this earth who can help Trudeau make better decisions. Gardner certainly isn’t the guy. At least he has enough smarts to take on a job as a well-paid sychophant. Oh well. At least Trudeau is paying him out of his own pocket. Right?

  2. This is my impression of Gardner also — someone quite impressed with his own intellect that he does not recognize his own shortcoming. He is a narrow and dogmatic thinker rather than a creative problem solver. He is the type of thinker who cannot see the forest for the trees. I don’t even think he has much policy background — although I know he has been editing Policy Options — not the same as developing policy. He is a pundit, that is about it.
I can just see the Trudeau crew realizing they need advice. “We need someone with intellectual heft.” “How about Dan Gardner?” Too funny. They are such simpletons. Unfortunately we will all be suffering for their lack of ability — and Dan Gardner AIN’T gonna save them.

  3. Parading one’s intellect or lack of by engaging in juvenile name-calling doesn’t seem to be a quality of a person hired to assist in making decisions.
Comparing Harper to Mussolini or James is something one might expect to hear at a public service union rally or a climate change get-together where like-minded little people gather to spew hatred and ignorance.
On a positive note however, Gardner did not, to my knowledge, refer to Harper as a Nazi.

  4. Oh, that Gardner, Dan Gardner. I was thinking Chauncey “I like to watch” Gardner. Chauncey had some very original thoughts and profound quotes.

  5. When we win the next election, it’s full bore ahead with conservatism just like it’s full bore ahead with liberalism/socialism/communism with the Liberals.
    No more incrementalism.

  6. Not even hiding the fact that he was hoping for a Senate seat.
Ollie and Fife will be announcing their appointments soon.

  7. We can only wish. Don’t hold your breath if a Progressive Conservative wins the leadership.
So Trudeau surrounds himself with a bunch of leftist scumbags. No surprise there.

  8. Win the next election? No chance, this generation has longed for Queen Selfie their entire lives. He’s at *least* a two term PM. If Orville Reddenbacher can’t get upended in Toronto, whatever makes you think that Queen Selfie can lose?
Plus we’ve got Rona…. and Michelle Rempel… and Boisvert. How lucky we are. :s

  9. Canada is a liberal country. Unless bongo starts acting like gee yawn – he’s he for a loooong time.
The U.S. can’t even find a conservative to rally around.

  10. Dithers Justine?
Sounds good, eh Paul? No? Yes? Oui?
    …-
“Michael Den Tandt: Delay-prone Liberals should be wary of ‘Mr. Dithers’ tag’”
“The Trudeau Liberals are determined to make no rash decision, to subject every important choice to rigorous critical tests — which is good, surely. But there’s a dawning political question: At what point does Solomonic mulling begin to look like dithering?”
“Former prime minister Paul Martin was nicknamed “Mr. Dithers” because of a perceived timidity in making decisions. That hurt him. It would be ironic indeed if Trudeau, the man who got his start by betting all his chips on a fistfight, were to fall prey to the same affliction.”

  11. I sense a hollow emptiness in the lives of Robert Fife and his ilk. Even yet there is the quick and snide reference to the Harper era. One priceless remark was that “the gray days of Harper are over”.
They must know it is a waste of breath. They cannot let go.
The euphoria of the election of Justine is gone.
There must be a void in their lives. Poor souls!

  12. Liberals always search for, and find, the lowest common denominator … don’t matter much if it’s a voter or an insider.

  13. Robert Fife, Craig Oliver and other dweebs like them are a disgrace to the profession. Unfortunately the mental disorder known as liberalism has swept the country.

  14. Gerald Butts is a master at winning elections as in Dalton, Kathleen, and Justin. Once in charge as the puppet master however, he cannot make a rational decision.
