52 Replies to “Yes, the Mounties do want your guns”

  1. I’ve been expecting the authorities to come after semi-automatic rifles for some time. That’s why I bought a bolt action .308. Fortunately military grade rifles from WWI are also hunting rifles.

  2. Yeah like disarming the people will stop them from becoming violent Woo Hoo Yeah Sure tell me about it since most liberals think only become evil when they hold a gun and therefore all privatly owned guns must be confiscated and melted down into dumb Peace Bricks so these brain-dead liberals can go home feeling all warm and fuzzy inside since most liberals have been raised in stupidland by parents who visited those certian poppyfields

  3. I just wish they would get to the point and start the damn war that they want. Just get it over with.

  4. If you think limiting refugees based on what a tiny minority *might* do is bigoted, but banning firearms based on what a tiny minority *might* do is evidenced based policy making; you might be a Liberal.

  5. It should come as no surprise that the Liberals can come up with new ways to do stupid things . They always claimed that the goal of the gun registry was not to confiscate firearms. However I always believed that they were happier the higher the cost of the registry went. Once enough were registered they would say ” look how much this cost. It’s the responsibility of gun owners to pay this.” That way if you did not have a significant need or passion for the sport the yearly cost for registration would become prohibitive. What they did is create a lot of “criminals ” because I am sure many enthusiasts and people holding l firearms little used have never put them on the radar. Look for a ” job ” creation project here.

  6. Ah, Frank, so you have a “sniper” rifle, do you? Clearly you are an evil man and an enemy of the state. [/lib idiocy] Rust never sleeps. Neither does the lib intent to disarm you. They’ll want the bolties too.

  7. If you think legalizing a recreational drug is just great while restricting what property people can own, you might be a liberal.

  8. This design of rifle has become the evil “black rifle” for the Canadian prog gun grabbers. It was used by the muslim jihadist Gamil Gharbi to shoot some 20 people at ecole Polytechnique back in ’89 and in the recent shooting of 4 RCMP officers in Eastern Canada. In the later instance the shooter wanted to provoke a rebellion against the then conservative government of Canada. So he was a leftist.
Take home message: It ain’t the gun – don’t allow muslims and leftists to own guns.
In the meantime, the shooting massacres in Ft. Saskatchewan (9 dead), Shedden (8 dead) and Maythorpe (4 police officers) were all done with illegal, non-registered weapons by criminals who don’t care what the gun grabbers think.

  9. Remember that the RCMP is indeed a personal possession of the Queen of England, and may or may not answer to you as a courtesy only.
When Canadians cry and whine about guns or the Canadian Government just look at your beloved system of government and your place in it (a serf who is a possession of a congenitally retarded foreign monarch) and then start thinking about a Canadian Republic founded on democratic principles.

  10. How about the Mounties just take guns away from gun owners that vote Liberal? Clearly they are mentally unfit.

  11. And when they have taken all the semi-automatic sporting rifles, the sniper guns will be next. You know, bolt-action, .308, with a scope. See you later, Frank.

  12. And there still are lots of RCMP officers who went in with the admirable intention of protection our rights and freedoms from criminals who would infringe upon them, and most of them are still trying to do that job. But the organisation is corrupt – it is run by careerists to serve the organisations’ own needs so that the organisation provides them with their careers (privileges of authority, like deciding to carry a gun, the pay, the benefits, the pension.)

  13. jeez. Im worried.
I still have my slingshot from the days I had time to use it.
    they gonna take that?

  14. When they came for the smokers, I said nothing because I don’t smoke cigarettes.
When they came for the semi-automatic rifles, I said nothing because I don’t have one of those either.

  15. “… It was used by the muslim jihadist Gamil Gharbi to shoot some 20 people at ecole Polytechnique back in ’89 …”
Yes, and Gamil Gharbi had tried to modify his Mini-14 to convert it from semi-auto to fully automatic as the RCMP pretends to fear we could all do, but he failed. He instead broke his, turning it into a manually operated repeater. For each shot he had to cycle the action by hand to remove the empty cartridge case and bring a fresh round to the chamber. I can work my single-shot hunting rifle just as effectively, and against an unarmed crowd conditioned by our social-engineering to be helpless victims waiting for the police to save them, anyone determined to murder could have carried out that massacre with an axe. In a world without guns, only the able-bodied who invest much time and effort in practising with hand weapons – clubs, blades, spears – can defend themselves, and the small and frail are always at the mercy of the big and brutish. And we are then all dependent on our public servants to tell us what we are allowed to do – for our own safety and well-being, of course.

  16. The Alberta Conservatives almost get rid of these useless parasites on Alberta society. Speaking of useless parasites, Special Ed Stelmach’s last hurrah in 2011 was renewing the contract for the useless pricks for another 20 years ending in 2032. The proposed Alberta Police college at Fort Macleod was then cancelled. We came so close.

  17. “Actually all it takes is a piece of string to turn most semi auto rifles into full auto.”
I don’t believe they are necessarily all that easy. I might have knowledge on such things but have never done it because I don’t want to go to jail and lose the right to own guns. Pretty simple. I have also shot enough machine guns to know that someone is more dangerous with a light .308 in semi-automatic than in full-automatic mode. With the old C2 the first shot was on target, the second into the butts, the third over the butts and the fourth was bringing down a low flying aircraft.

  18. So the Liberals want to pass the responsibility of making rules and regulations over to the police. I suspect they want to do this because they think they won’t have to wear the political fallout from banning, then coming to steal our property. They will have to deal with he political fallout of trying to turn us into the type of country where the police make the rules. Also known as a police state.

  19. I knew when I bought a new Remington model 700 in .308 that I should have got the one with the nice polished walnut stock, instead of the one with the green synthetic stock with the word “tactical” engraved on the receiver. They’ll be after me next.

  20. “So the Liberals want to pass the responsibility of making rules and regulations over to the police.”
In the Firearms Act, they already did. The RCMP has the final say about the legality of firearms that are not mentioned by name in the Firearms Act. If you have a look at the brouhaha around the Swiss Arms rifles and Tavor rifles, you’ll see how it works.
For example, the AR15 is specifically restricted by name in the Firearms Act, meaning they can’t classify it prohibited like they tried to do with the Swiss Arms(which isn’t specifically named anywhere in the act). The RCMP are essentially lobbying to have the act changed so they can, or the act changed to outright prohibit these firearms.

  21. You’re right; they’ll come after bolt action rifles eventually. Maybe then gun owners will pull their head out of the sand and start refusing to play along. I’ve had zero luck as a pistol club president getting hunters to pay attention to our problems. “Never happen to us,” is what they told me. Also, “Don’t rock the boat.” Maybe now it’s time they DID rock the boat.

  22. Fudds will be fudds, they’ll never change and when JBTs knock at their door they will be stunned that all those conspiracy theorists they refused to listen to were right.

  23. Dude you bought that green abomination with a triangular barrel and a muzzle break? Yeah you should have brought the one with the walnut stock, or the one with the black stock or the one with the sand stock, or any other (just not that old pink one) :p

  24. “And there still are lots of RCMP officers who went in with the admirable intention of protection our rights and freedoms from criminals who would infringe upon them, and most of them are still trying to do that job. ”
Pray tell where were they in High River, how many refused to follow orders that infringed on peoples’ rights? How many quit in disgust after that?
    … crickets chirping …
What’s that you say? Befehl ist befehl?
One JBT is worth the other there are no good ones, they made a conscious choice to join an organization dedicated to hurting innocent people. When ordered all those good RCMP goons will cheerfully kick in your doors and take your property while terrorizing your family and killing your dogs.

  25. We have been waiting for this since the election. The RCMP,like every other lobbyist who recognize a friendly-to-them government, has been chomping at the bit for 9 long years, and now they’re going to have their way.
The anti-oil sands, climate change zealots, anti-pipeline,and anti-hunters will line up with the cops to do what they do, from shutdown of all industry to seizing our guns.
Harper failed us in that he didn’t rescind Bill C-68,which allows the cops to check the status of our guns without warrant at any time without warning, among other outrages. He gave us the minor sop of rescinding the LGR and refunded the PAL fee, once, though the charge of $60/five years was back in effect when I last renewed mine.
One way or another, we are going to lose our right to own firearms, the trend is against us and with the propaganda by the Left, we don’t stand much of a chance.
NFA should invite the new PM out to a Range and familiarize him with the sport and the people who partake in it. Can’t hurt, might slow things down a bit.
Anyone here buy any reloading components at Wholesale Sports lately? Last time I did, Summer of 2015, the guy insisted on seeing my PAL for a purchase of IMR 4064, and wrote my number down in a book they had for that express purpose.
When I protested that it wasn’t required by law, he grumpily stated that it was WS policy and if I wanted to buy the powder, had to allow it.

  26. “You’re right; they’ll come after bolt action rifles eventually. Maybe then gun owners will pull their head out of the sand and start refusing to play along.”
If you dig in your heels because your boltgun is now illegal, it’s far too late.
Everyone who owns a firearm whether it’s an AR or a single shot H&R Pardner has an interest in fighting this. If you can’t see that, you’re part of the problem.

  27. The left ain’t gonna win. It is going pear-shaped in a very rapid manner for them around the world.
    Obama’s Hope and Change: Failed.
The European Union’s dream of succeeding where the Soviets have failed: Failed.
    Rachel Notley’s “utopia”: Failed.
    Ontario’s provincial government: Failed.
They will try to double down and become more repressive and punitive as their desperation grows, but we saw how it turned out for the Soviets back in the day…

  28. The frogs went into the water when it was cool. Salary, mortgage, vacations, car payments, kids in school, pension investment, “what else could I do?” “sacrificing my career wouldn’t change anything”, it all adds up. Golden handcuffs are an invisible part of the police uniform.

  29. No I had the XCR “tactical” model, but I lost it when my canoe capsized on my last hunting trip in north western Ontario. You know how these things happen. I have however fired the one you are referring to, in .223. Its a nice compact, accurate little rifle. I quite liked it.

  30. XCR tactical is beautiful, sad yours rests now at the bottom of the lake, funny coincidence, that is exactly what happened to my beloved CZ 527 varmint kevlar. And my Benelli SuperNova tactical followed, what was I thinking taking it hunting in the first place? I don’t know.

  31. And so it begins, as we all knew it would once the government changed. The past two weeks have seen the Mounties feed their favourite mouthpiece, the CBC, two propaganda and fear-mongoring pieces. This one and the one about 10,000 missing/stolen guns in Alberta. It is true that the media will not challenge the information or even ask any tough questions. When we thought we had seen in High River the worst of what our national police force could do, we may have instead only seen the beginning.
I suggest that with the next version of RCMP uniform that the shirts become the proper colour…..brown.

  32. If you do not mind me asking what club are you with and is it around GTO? I am with one club now (BRRC) but certain developments make me re-consider my options.

  33. You are absolutely right to say that they will come after bolt action firearms eventually. Wendy Cukier has publicly stated that the eventual aim is to bqan all firearms. All totolitarian governments want to disarm the people. Lenin did, Hitler did. My father-in-law was about 13-15 around 1919-20 when the Cheka and Militz came through all the villages in southern Ukraine and confiscated all firearms.
Don Morris, I am a member of the NFA and according to an article in their last magazine they have lobbyists doing their best in Ottawa, but they could not even get that far with the Conservatives on Bill C-68 (too many progressives in the CPV) and I expect that it will be a good as hopeless with the formerly liberal democratic thinking Liberal Party of Canada.

  34. Oshawa gun club is nice. I am not a member but I have a mate who is. I go there a couple of times a year as a guest to shoot trap/skeet. They have a half dozen trap and skeet firing points, a sporting clays range, a 300 m rifle range and a nice club house. I haven’t joined myself because I wouldn’t get out often enough for the membership to pay for itself. I mate who is a member is retired and goes there at least twice a week.

  35. Kleptocracy Rules.
The bandits will attempt to disarm the honest citizen, for their own protection.
When a parasite speaks of;”The public good” it means the good of the parasite not you, the host.
I suspect compliance will be even more amazing than the Allan Rock fiasco.
Harper did serve us notice. By failing to protect property rights, scrap C-68 and punish the thieves of High River, he told us no political party has the taxpaying, property owning citizens back.
On the bright side, jail is cheaper than paying rent, complying with the demands of the biggest street gang in the country will not buy you peace or protect your assets.
Registering yourself as licensed to possess a firearm, denies you legal protections provided to every pimp, pedophile and drug dealer.
    Makes you feel real special?
This is why government by thieves for the benefit of those thieves goes pear shaped real fast.
Eastern Canada has shown us they support lying and stealing from government, for decades now they have rewarded such behaviour.
I am damned if I can see what I have in common with such people.
I would have thought the police leaders would have more sense, however they seem to believe they can rule without the help and cooperation of those they” serve”.
Ironic, they admit they cannot protect any one, yet seek to disarm the honest citizen.
    Who do they serve really?
Liberals are the enemies of civilization , they despise property rights, rule of law, equality before the law and that all citizens will be treated equally.
Rules for thee but none for me.

  36. ??? you are next … do you really believe Baby Doc and his thugs will stop at semis??
ever heard of High River Alberta?… Mounties kicked doors, in ripped houses apart and stole every gun they could find. locked up or not
Cretin wanted to ban , seize shotguns because he considered them full auto… fire many projectiles with one trigger pull
    ……………..you are delusional

  37. failed ? they are winning every where . Europe is collapsing , US has 90 million unemployed , 50 million on food stamps .
the Lyin Hawaiian has a year left to complete the destruction.
stock markets collapsing. Canada now has total incompetent Baby Doc. Ontario has Big Dyke. tag team of destruction… it’s over.

  38. “…start thinking about a Canadian Republic founded on democratic principles.”
With a democratically elected President-For-Life named Trudeau instead of a symbolic head of state with no executive authority, paid for by and living in another country.

  39. The Queen is the Head of State and The PM serves at HER pleasure. The PM is chosen as a candidate in a closed process within the Political Party and that party nomination process is closed to a select few. After a general election, the Canadian Government ( which is also a personal possession of the aforementioned congenital retard) respectfully requests the appointment of the PM. This is as far away from democratic as possible.
On two occasions in Canadian history the Crown has ignored these requests and installed their own choice for PM.
In the Canadian system that you call democratic, there are exactly zero executive positions that are elected. The closest thing is perhaps mayor of your town, All judges, Sheriffs, Premiers, PM’s, Senators among others are by appointment only.
Canada is a Constitutional Monarchy and is not a democracy, not even close.

  40. “there are exactly zero executive positions that are elected”
The members of cabinet are elected as members of the House of Commons in most cases and we normally elect the Prime Minister by electing more members of his party than any other. A few quirks were Abbott and Bowell serving from the Senate and Turner not being in Parliament until he won a seat in the election his government lost. The three anomalies add up to all of 3 years total.
The US appoints the cabinet. How much less Canada is that any other country is questionable.
