On Jan. 7, 2015, two French-born brothers killed 11 people inside the building where the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo operated, as well as a Muslim policeman outside. Over the next two days, an accomplice shot a policewoman to death and then stormed a kosher supermarket, killing four hostages. All three gunmen died.
(Emphasis mine, of course, lest we overlook the relative importance that religion played in the role of perpetrator and victims.)
Now back to Paris, where #JeSuisFrenchBorn commemorated the anniversary outside a police office;
French officials say the man shouted “Allahu Akbar!” (God is Great) outside a police station in Goutte d’Or, near Montmartre, where police shot and killed him.
Reports say he was wielding a knife and may have had a suicide belt. A police robot used for bomb disposal is checking the body in the street.
I’ll go out on a limb and assume he’s “French-born” as well.

“Allahu Akbar” does indeed mean “God is greater” but the implication is simply “God is greater than anyone or anything else”, a statement that works handily for Jews and Christians too. “Allah” is the Arabic word for “God” and, as such, it is the word used by Christian Arabs for God too (and indeed, Christian Arabs can also say “Allahu akbar”).
German “authorities”, too, were quick to assure us that their rapists, thieves and killers are not “refugees”.
Translation: “We, your authorities, are blameless”, and “You on your high horses, not the noble savages we import, are to blame!”

If you’re going to make a narrow theological argument, then there is no “Judeo-Christian God”. If God as worshipped by Muslims is not the same God as worshipped by Christians, then you should accept that God as worshipped by the Jews is not the same God as worshipped by Christians either.

Have to agree to disagree JJM. Allah was one of many gods, along with his daughters Allat, al-Uzza and Manat, that Mohammad’s father worshipped in Mecca before the onset of Islam. Indeed, Mohammad related in the Quran that these daughters were high flying “cranes” that had the ability to intercede with Allah. Regardless, the Muslims of Malaysia seem to disagree with your position as they recently celebrated an appeals court ruling that prohibits Catholics from using the term Allah, in Malay bibles, to identify the God of the Old and New Testaments. The court ruling makes it readily apparent that Muslims in Malaysia distinguish between the God of Abraham and Allah. Link refers.

Er, no it doesn’t. If you’re Muslim, Allah is the God of Abraham.
What Malaysian Muslims are insisting on is that only they can use the word “Allah” for “God” because the language of the Quran is Arabic. The Malaysian argument is a nonsense of course, even as an Islamic argument; Malaysian Muslims have somehow got it into their heads that “Allah” is exclusively an Islamic term.*
Notwithstanding the Malaysian ruling, the Arabic word for “God” – as used by Arabic-speaking Christians since, well, before Islam even existed – remains “Allah”.
The people of Malta are overwhelmingly Roman Catholic but their language represents a particular evolution of Arabic. The word Maltese Christians use for “God” is: “Alla”.
* It would be akin to, say, evangelical Protestants attempting to prevent anyone else from using the word “God” in their worship because the language of the King James Bible is English and therefore “God” must somehow be an exclusively evangelical Protestant term.

Meaning therefore they have a “different God”. Incidentally, if you’re Jewish, Jesus is quite decidedly not the messiah prophesied in the Torah.
If God’s existence depends entirely on our belief in Him then there are at least three Gods in this discussion: a Jewish one, a Christian one and a Muslim one.* If our belief is drawn from God’s existence then He is the One God whether you are Jewish, Christian or Muslim.
* You can extend this out further almost ad infinitum: Orthodox Jewish G-d, Reformed Jewish G-d, Catholic God, Orthodox God, Protestant God (heck, why not Presbyterian God or Baptist God?), Mormon God, Jehovah’s Witness God, Sunni Allah, Shi’ite Allah etc., etc.

Being in the business of religious satire where humourless murderous fanatics of one particular unnamed religion/political project freely roam the streets, I would have thought that Hebdo would have had more robust security arrangements than simple “police protection”. I guess that’s another argument against outsourcing adult responsibilities as important as self defense to the state.
At some point in the future, Europeans uninterested in joining or becoming slaves to savages really need to arm themselves as those running their governments are clearly at cross purposes and offer security limited to reaction only…. Not at all. If you will allow me one correction: where I said Torah, I should have said Tanakh. The Jewish Torah consists of their five books of Law, which are the first five books in the Christian Old Testament, also classified as “Law”. The Jewish Tanakh contains all of the Hebrew Scriptures including the Torah. At the time covered by the Christian New Testament, the Tanakh consisted of the same 39 books as the Christian Old Testament. Some had different names, taken from the Greek “Septuagint”, some were subdivided (i.e. the twelve minor prophets – one book in the Tanakh, twelve books in the O.T.), and the order was different. But the content was the SAME. The O.T. was, and still is, based on the same ancient Hebrew manuscripts. So the Christian God IS the same God that the Jewish people worship. Regardless of denomination or sect.

I have never read the Qu’ran, but I know that the content is dramatically different from Jewish / Christian scripture. Even to the point of being contradictory in many very fundamental issues, like the ten commandments. Therefore I conclude that Islam does not worship the same God as Jews or Christians. In fact, the more I learn about Islam, the more convinced I am that they actually DO worship the one Christians know as Satan.
The only legitimacy to their claim of being “Abrahamic” is that Ishmael, who was the illegitimate son of Abraham, was the Patriarch of the Arab people.
Every version of the Bible available today is based on the same ancient manuscripts (in the original language – Hebrew for O.T. and Greek for N.T.) that have been in use from the beginning. It is always difficult to translate exactly from one language to another and the challenge is exacerbated when the two languages are separated by markedly different cultures and two millennia of history. The Bible today is the most reliable and accurate historical document in the world – by several orders of magnitude. This is in spite of (or perhaps because of) people like you who have been attacking the Bible’s credibility as long as it has been in existence, for the sole purpose of gaining notoriety or profit or just because they can’t stand the truth.
The Bible is remarkable in the accuracy with which it continues to convey its original message. I am certainly not alone in believing that this is a direct result of God’s continued inspiration.
