Retail rescue nears peak insanity;
On June 8, 2015, an adult female dog that had recently been picked up from the streets of Cairo, Egypt, and shipped by a U.S. animal rescue organization to the United States was confirmed to have rabies by the Virginia Department of General Services Division of Consolidated Laboratory Services (DCLS). This dog was part of a large shipment of dogs and cats from Egypt that rescue organizations had distributed to multiple states for adoption. During the investigation, public health officials learned that the rabies vaccination certificate used for entry of the rabid dog into the United States had intentionally been falsified to avoid exclusion of the dog from entry under CDC’s current dog importation regulations. This report underscores the ongoing risk posed by U.S. importation of domestic animals that have not been adequately vaccinated against rabies.
That’s right. Egypt.

I would much rather take in dog and cat refugees than Muslim goat molesters. The rabid dog is less dagerous than rabid Muzz terrorists. And we can euthanize the poor dog humanely. I say let’s switch from human “refugees” to dog refugees. Muslims tend to be very cruel to animals so the dogs are genuine refugees. Also they won’t get free health care , housing and welfare, they don’t need lawyers (paid for by us), they aren’t Muslims and they aren’t trying to kill us.
I thought that moslems hated dogs. How is it that there any dogs in Egypt?
And of course this is the REALLY insane part: “….The dog had been imported with an unhealed fracture of the left forelimb,….”. Not only unhealthy but damaged as well. Insane……..
I don’t really understand how the “rescue” industry became big business. Don’t you just go to the pound and pay like $50 and get a license and some shots for a dog and you’re done? Total value for a stray is like a couple hundred bucks tops no? Half the time pounds can’t even get rid of dogs at that cost and have to kill perfectly healthy mutts that can’t be placed.
My understanding was formed in the 1980’s when Pound Puppies was a big cartoon and I did some volunteering in the 90’s. I don’t understand how this rescue thing took off so much. Having a rescue dog seems to be the new granite countertops of the status set. Are people getting totally reemed with costs now or something?
With the millions of dogs and cats that need to be rescued here in North America, why are those imbeciles importing a dog from Egypt???
In a short few decades, Feminism and leftism have turned the West into an asylum run by the crazies.
