Things are about to heat up in Montreal as Liberal Denis Coderre, known for taking a sledgehammer to the base of a new post office box installation, has taken a sledgehammer approach to labour negotiations by suspending for a week without pay at least 2,400 blue-collar municipal workers. Union president and several executives are also penalized two months without pay for letting the workers hold an illegal strike for part of a workday recently. The workers will revenge themselves by cutting back on services such as snow removal when the first big snowfall hits.

This is very embarrassing, and an affront to free speech. Canada us fast becoming a third world dictatorship. The media should be very concerned, but I don’t see them reporting on this.
@foobert: These kind of “you stupid hick” articles put blood in my eye. Yes, some ignorant comments made by Bobby Mann. But not really so much by Jane Mann as she was referring to the panels blocking the sun ….. and causing the surrounding plants in the shadow to struggle and/or die.
But more to the point is that the decision by the town to put a moratorium on solar farms had NOTHING to do with these comments. The FACT is they already have 3 other solar farms in that town. And there is a reason why solar farms want to be in that area …… because they have easy connectability to the grid. The people in that town were concerned about their quality of life, the taking of farmland for solar panels, and the question of benefit of solar panels for the town.
The jumping on these PARTICULAR public meeting comments entirely SHIFTS the conversation…. something that is, as I have pointed out before, a liberal tactic which, in this example, implies that you must be stupid or ignorant to oppose us.

Saudi Arabian coalition against (Shiite only) terrorism just posturing? Shutting the extremist madrassas, reigning in the Sunni terror supporting royal family, committing robust military forces and allowing refugees in their country would show real determination to eliminate Islamist terrorism, but no such luck I’m afraid:
