  1. Victor David Hanson: Trump is Our Napoleon.
    Excerpt:

What are Trump’s politics? Like Napoleon’s, no one quite knows. In the past, he has praised Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton. He may well have favored Barack Obama in 2008. He’s running as a Republican, but has not always been conservative — and he threatens to run as a third-party candidate if he is not treated nicely. Trump’s populist attacks on hedge funds and selfish international corporations sound like those of Bernie Sanders..

  2. Alberta is going to pay, starting from Jan. 01-2016, Notley and Co. will start cashing in on natural gas furnaces and automobiles, their number one target. Then for number 2, she’s going for the throat, the oil sands, and the coal fired plants. One slight problem. China, India, and most of the world won’t follow suit. Guess who pays??
The headline says, ”anyone who emits carbon will pay.”
    Like, who doesn’t emit carbon?

  3. Re: The carbon racket.
As I was reading the Financial Post feature and the carbon tax rackets, it suddenly brought to mind the ”health food” rackets of the 1980’s and 90’s. The fish oils that contained omega-3 promised to boost your brain power, bilberry that was allegedly used by WWII bomber pilots promised to boost night vision, the B complex promised to cure depression, and hundreds of others were going to stop arthritis or boost your sex drive.
Almost every day now, there’s a news report on the health food rackets. Few if any tests show them to be effective. Many formulations contain little if any of the ingredients that are listed on the bottle. Did we learn from all that?? Of course not. Now we’re embarking an much more expanded scheme. Taxing an invisible gas! How long will it take before Knotley, Trudeau, Clark, Wynne and other slopsuckers are brought to light?? The more things change, the more they stay the same.

  4. “How long will it take before Knotley, Trudeau, Clark, Wynne and other slopsuckers are brought to light??”
I doubt ever, as there have been snake oil peddlers since Adam and Eve, and suckers that fall for this stuff. Today it happens to be the snake oil of AGW.

In an interview with Sky News, the prince – who will give a keynote speech at the opening of a global climate conference in Paris next week – said there was “absolutely” a direct link between climate change, terrorism, and the conflict in Syria.”

“Metcalfe has long been a senior Liberal strategist and adviser and was prominent in the party’s inner circle.
He worked on Stephane Dion’s successful leadership campaign in 2006. Earlier he was campaign chair for Liberal John Manley.
Metcalfe was also a senior adviser to Dion leading up to the disastrous 2008 federal election, which saw the Liberals reduced to third-party status.”

  7. Watch how fast the MSM buries this story for their shiny pony
    ————————————————————-
OTTAWA — The Canada Revenue Agency says a prominent Ottawa lobbyist and federal Liberal party strategist has been sentenced to house arrest and fined $396,259 for tax evasion.
[Herb] Metcalfe is a co-founder of Capital Hill Corp., a well-known lobbying firm.

In other news, the Canadian socialist propaganda machine is in full frontal assault on anything that they don’t agree with.
Today’s Calgary Herald http://calgaryherald.com/ (Notley’s carbon plan wins praise from Ontario, federal leaders) loves it, apparently eastern media and political cabal likes it.
The only hope remains that those that voted for the socialists fascists gets screwed better than the normal people.

  9. Those of us who remember Trudeau Sr. and the glory days of the CBC all recall the Liberal’s abilities to use the public broadcaster to create stories that diverted our attention away from the real and pressing issues. This story I believe was made public but for one reason. To divert the Alberta public’s attention away from the real issue! Rachel Notley and Carbon tax!!

  10. They already did bury that story, Rob. If you read closely you will see that the sentence came down on Sept. 30, or about 3 weeks before the election. They try to cover their a$$es by stating it was a “recent news release” So the CBC was just doing its job of protecting the Liberal brand. Let’s give them some more money.

  11. I think there is a law that prohibits them from those kind of press releases during an election campaign. But it is curious that they waited a month to issue a press release. Still I thought it was common practice for reporters to go to the courts every day to see what came up. But nowadays they don’t seem to do any digging for stories, they just wait for press releases to fall into their laps.

“Burnaby loses pipeline court battle, ordered to pay company’s costs”
“In a ruling issued online, B.C. Supreme Court Justice George Macintosh agreed with Trans Mountain, saying the pipeline is situated, constructed and operated under the National Energy Board, which draws its authority from the act.
He says the energy board has the constitutional power to direct or limit the city in enforcement of its bylaws if Burnaby interferes or blocks regulation of the project.
Macintosh has ruled Burnaby’s bylaws don’t apply to the pipeline planning and has also ordered the city to pay the company’s court costs.”

  15. There is a law, but I think that is about releasing info about those who are under investigation.
Charges and convictions are in the public domain.
The CRA delayed the release of the information.
Maybe they had a legal reason, I can’t see one.
    This is from the G&M;
” Mr. Metcalfe’s wife Isabel has also been a senior party organizer who has played many roles behind the scenes. She has also run as a Liberal candidate.
The CRA issued a news release dated Nov. 18, 2015, outlining the fine and conviction. However the release did not immediately receive media attention due to public-service rules related to communicating during an election. (BUT,It wasn’t released during the election, Nov.18th is a month later )
Mr. Metcalfe was sentenced on Sept. 30, during the election campaign. But federal departments and agencies are under strict restrictions regarding the types of news releases that can be issued during an election campaign.
As a result, the agency quietly posted the news release on its website on Nov. 18, nearly a month after the election, and did not take the additional step of alerting the media that the information had been posted.

    Can you follow that tripe?
The CRA deliberately with-held information about a convicted Liberal insider because … well, who knows ?
Maybe because it was public info and the public should do the research themselves?
    NO.
Something stinks. The stench is Liberal.
