The Liberals keep their election pledge – give or take – by changing one tiny detail:
The federal government’s much-anticipated Syrian refugee plan will limit those accepted into Canada to women, children and families only, CBC News has learned.
Clearly a last-minute change to minimize the political damage domestically. If it had been the plan all along, they would have announced it earlier.
The family reunion program will take this to 100000 in two years
Damage control no doubt and an obvious attempt to inject a little common sense into the whole debacle while, at the same time, not stepping too forcefully on the enormous ego of Trudeau. On the positive side, the limitations make more sense then allowing thousands of young men into the country with minimal, if any, vetting. On the negative side, the reckless plan to bring in 26,000 “refugees” by the end of the year is … well … reckless.
Wasn’t that the original plan put forth by the Harper Conservatives, except at a slower pace???
Children? They won’t make bombs. Wait for 10-15 years.
Cal2 nailed it. The Liberals family reunification program will, indeed raises the total to way higher than promised.
They appear to be discriminating against those most at risk, the Christians, Yazidis and Kurds, who are at higher risk of being slaughtered by either Sunni or Shia Islamists. Yet pose no Islamist jihadi risk to Canada.
The number of Muslim families with children will mean that Canadian provinces via Social Services budgets will support them for a generation or two, at least. And education and Health Care et al, a net drain for 20-40 years.
A jihadi father knows the Canadian state will pay to raise his children if he decides to become a martyr.
But the same amount of this money spent in a refugee camp would keep far greater numbers of them safe, fed, housed with education. Also, they’d be ready to repopulate Syria once the Russians have turned I.S. into desert rats hiding from their own shadow.
This announcement shows the Liberals, and their MSM partners in crime, bending a little to the polls shwoing how against this Canadians are. As well as who it going to get the blame, whenever the next Islamist jihadi attack in Canada.
The MSM ignores lone wolf attacks but a larger one, will defeat that spin doctoring.

The next step for them to take is to insist that the 25000 refugees are from those most at risk of persecution. 13% of the population of Syria are non-Muslim, which means there should be over 400,000 non-Muslim refugees to choose from. Let’s insist that we take the women and children from these ones first.
And we don’t dare put word in the ‘mouth’ of the Lib government.

Reading the comments at the CBC site and here I still cannot believe that there are that many dumb, moronic Canadians. The U.S. has a population of some 320,000,000 or thereabouts, and they are taking only 10.000 over the next year. I suspect one cold winter will see a lot of these people wanting to go home as soon as it is safe to do so. Nor are they terribly poor – it seems they can afford all those electric gadgets, phones and etc. so methinks they can pay their way once they get here. I have heard nothing about checks on their financial abilities – why not?
Um, they might want to check these “children” carefully. There have been reports of Syrian men 20 & up pretending to be 16 or 17 years of age in order to qualify as “unaccompanied minors”.

Soldiers and military personnel at a Kingston, Ont. base are being asked to clear their barracks to make room for an early wave of Syrian refugees arriving in just over a week, CTV News has learned.
Multiple residences at CFB Kingston are being cleared for Nov. 30 to house the refugees, according to an internal memo obtained by CTV News.
The orders will also affect some officer cadets attending the Royal Military College, many of whom are nearing exams.

Having emigrated to Canada over fifty years ago, I stayed in three boarding houses. All young men in their twenties. You are right. Terrorist attacks are not the only issue. There is a major cultural incompatibility. Muslims (mostly) do not choose to integrate, Oppress women, hate Jews. Many of their teachings are not compatible with democracy. The issue needs to be discussed beyond the risk of terrorism.

My point was that no matter how moderate or nominal many individual Muslims are, Islam is not a religion of moderation. Even the country that Obama and Ms Clinton cite as a paragon of moderation is instead restrictive and barbarous in its treatment of non-Muslim citizens. Did you even look at the articles I linked?
Therefore there is a risk involved in importing large numbers of Muslims to a non-Muslim nation. The Koran teaches that Islam must be dominant. This often comes to the fore when the Muslim population becomes the majority or even a significant minority. That many Muslims are currently moderate or nominal simply means that they are not practicing the religion that Mohammed taught. He was a militant and domineering man and, when practiced as he commanded, it is a militant and domineering religion. Do you know anything about Islam at all?
