Further to this story about the cancellation by U of Ottawa student leaders of an on-campus yoga class on grounds of cultural sensitivity, it seems the “no” side wasn’t even less flexible than we knew:
Scharf even offered to rebrand the program as a “mindful stretching” class to distance it from any controversy over cultural appropriation, but that idea was rejected because a suitable French translation of the phrase could not be reached.
…then they came for yoga classes, but I did not speak out as it did not affect my goose stepping class…
