In a socialist society standards of mediocrity are the norm.
I’m more inclined to think that aspiring to or rising to standards of mediocrity in a socialist society is a very serious offense. The standard is more one of absolute lack of competency and ethics. Anything at all higher feeds the system of inequality that must be abolished.
