  1. Too bad Quebec electricity can’t be smuggled into Ontario…I’d get me some of it and maybe stop eating peanut butter for a change.
    Fact: Quebec hydro is cheapest in North America. Ontario has the highest rate. Side by each. Go figure.

  4. Some of it supplying Cornwall. Ottawa could have had it easily but they turned it down. Hydro Quebec execs still scratching their heads over why Ontario didn’t buy Quebec’s cheap pretty darn green hydro electricity. Instead contracts with foreign company Samsung and lots of liberal friends. Ontario now negotiating to buy some electricity, but sweetheart contracts for solar and wind power already signed for many years.

    Heavily subsidized basic needs to keep the gullible poor
    onside with the commissars results in corruption, and
    distorted economies. In the USSR, freshly baked Russian
    rye bread was so heavily subsidized at one time that it
    was being used as cattle feed on some collective and
    state farms with “good contacts”.

    I do admire the francophones, the way they periodically time it just right to play the ‘if I dont get my way Im taking my ball and bat and going home’ card at just the right time to blackmail TROC.

    I just spent 3 hours grinding a blasted ridge off the sidewalk by my place so the spring melt didnt puddle and turn into an ice rink, getting me sued for ‘negligence’.
    gawd Im glad we dont live in cummuniiiiist chirer in the 60s. Id have a nasty sign taped on my back for being a ‘capitalist dog landowner’.

    One cent a gallon gasoline,though!And, I betcha, free health care every bit as good as Cuba’s!
    If our new PM is paying attention, a few months after Paris, we should be in as good ‘a shape as Venezuela.

  11. Hydro electricity is anything BUT green. In fact, the James Bay project construction was “first build, then paint green.”
    Hydro dams do enormous environmental damage…..including causing earthquakes.

  14. Communist economies are run by the soviet (commissariate) system – this is a rationing regulatory system – why you may ask are they rationing? Because once you replace the capitalist profit motive with a profitless command/monopololy market system, producers only make enough to meet quotas and expend only marginal effort on quality – the result is that demand for quality goods or commodities always outstrips supply – so supply is rationed and black markets supply the demand.
    But don’t tell that to Ontario producers sucked up into the single desk marketing boards – they think soviet supply control is just ducky – for them.

  19. Ken this simply ins’t true. The official Polish equivalent of NDP, the SLD aka the people’s democrats renamed to ZL aka the Unites Left are out, but the largest opposition party (previously the governing party) the Civic Platform is an equivalent of our Libranos and US democrat party. Also in the parliament there is PSL the peasants party which is a left wing party drawing support from rural areas, think orange rural areas of Ontario.

  21. Also again PiS aka Law and Justice is not conservative in the western sense. They are socially conservative center-right (slightly) party, think Mike Huckabee not Tea Party or Stephen Harper.

  24. This has already begun since the liberals have been falsely elected as the leading majority. Alberta has experience records job layoffs and small businesses closures since Trudeau was elected in the sham election. The NDP has formed a collation to destroy Alberta as revenge for Trudeau Sr and his hatred of the West. The homeless rate in Calgary and Edmonton has tripled since October 19 alone for God’s sake. And then to add insult to injury, the provincial NDP’s have blocked renaming the Calgary airport after the greatest PM al all time.

    The geological survey done before a hydro electric dam even turns the first shovel of earth is extensive; usually numbering some volumes.
    Rule #1: No dam is ever built anywhere near a fault zone.
    Hydro dams only do ‘enormous damage’ in your imaginings.

  29. I think there has been some misreporting or mistranslating on the Polish election results’ story. I think it’s really supposed to be “the first time no Communist or other far-left party has not won seats” but it’s being misreported by some media/conservatives as “no lib-left” types. (And I’m sure your view on the parties’ true types is correct.)

  30. Yes absolutely. To add to confusion the word Liberal means effectively a Classical Liberal or Libertarian in Polish. Which would (to an extend) be Kukiz, and KORWIN. No wonder presstitutes get confused.
