  1. Ant colonies are the ultimate representation of Western Civilization: 20% keep the other 80% living in the lifestyle they’re entitled to. I wish I could share this with my leftie acquaintances on FB, but they’re too idle to bother reading the article while I’ve got too many chores this morning.

  2. Their filming covers just over 2% of the time of the study period. That’s not enough to draw firm conclusions.

  3. But could they pick out any social worker ants or meth dealer ants servicing the useless ones?
If not, they certainly weren’t studying any anthills here in BC.

  4. Socialists and communists are great proponents of symbolism.
If we look at the symbolism of British-based globalist socialism we see the obvious intentions of socialists in the symbology used by the Fabian socialists – their logo was a bee hive – symbol of their perfect society in which (like bees) there is an idle drone class living from the efforts of the worker bee class – then there was a stained glass window installed in their meeting hall – the symbolism is rife in its depictions –
    * Socialist crest is a wolf in sheep’s clothing (obvious reference to their approach)
    * socialist founders seen hammer-forging the world into their desired shape
    * the “masses” are depicted abandoning their religious deities and worshiping socialist political dogmas
As if that wasn’t enough clues to socialism’s intent, the semi secret elite “Fabian” socialist society (progenitor of the UK labor party and Canada’s NDP) was named after a Roman General famous for avoiding open confrontations and attacking enemies indirectly – a hint that real global socialism will be accomplished not through revolution but “evolution” or attrition (slow erosion of the old order and ascension of the new socialist global order vial stealth)

  5. Did they identify the “Community Organizer Ants” surely they have very distinguishing features such
As extra large head parts. Or, forget it!!!

  6. I agree, this study is useless. They could have filmed continuously and used software to pick out individual ants 24/7 over the course of a typical ant life span, and then they’d have something. Because they sampled such a small slice of time, the statement “maybe ants sleep in shifts” renders the study inconclusive.

  7. Call me crazy, but If some asshat just painted me, I might not feel like doing anything useful either.
How do we know the paint doesn’t negatively affect ants at all?
Why are we even paying anyone money to research this?
There was an ant hill in my back yard when I was a kid, I used to play World War II on it and pretend I was the RCAF. I’m sure we could have just asked kids and come up with similar results.

  8. Oh come on, this study is as good as 90 percent of the ‘AGW’ bs al Gore peddles

  9. Well, assuming the methodology was sound, what this tells me is that the ant colony can survive on the work of a small fraction of its population. Those extra ants are essentially “spare parts”, held in reserve in the event of some calamity befalling the colony.
Run the study again, this time with an anteater gobbling up as many it can, and see if the idle workers get activated.

  10. So much for the story about the grasshopper and the ant. There are freeloaders in every society, but it is only under socialism that it is rewarded.

  11. Harnessing Hot Air would make Al Gore,David Suzuki and those silly Greenpeace twats very useful
