Ted Cruz vs. a Leftist Regurgitator

Aaron Mair is the president of the Sierra Club in America. He’s not a scientist but a politician & social justice warrior. Here’s his LinkedIn summary:

Aaron Mair is a 31 year veteran urban environmental activist; regional and national Environmental Justice organizer and strategist from the State of New York.; Current National Board of Director of the Sierra Club (750,000 members); Former Atlantic Chapter Chair of 41,000-member NYS Sierra Club Atlantic Chapter; New Your State Pinbush Preserve Commissioner; New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s Environmental Justice Advisory Group; Environmental Protection Agency Region Two, Year 2000 Citizen Environmentalist Activist Award recipient. Won a $1.6 million federal RCRA settlement with New York State for the community of Arbor Hill in Albany, New York and used it to create two nonprofit community service organizations.; 1990, 2000, & 2010 Reapportionment GIS technical expert to the Albany NAACP that won the creation of four majority Minority legislative seats in Albany County.

Senator Ted Cruz recently had some straightforward questions which Mr. Mair found very uncomfortable:

Note: The Sierra Club has some interesting preferences when it comes to political donations.

  1. When someone, like Mr. Mair, has to ask someone else about a question, they don’t have an answer, don’t understand the question, don’t want to look foolish, and don’t have it within themselves to formulate a plausible answer. The point Mr Cruz was trying to make is that science must look at the real data, or it misses the point completely. And reciting “97% of scientists agree…” begs the question. So in trying to avoid looking foolish, Mr. Mair accomplished the image he tried to avoid. Science, without real world data, is fantasy.

  2. Mr. Mair walked a fine line. He did not directly lie to the senator, and so he’s unlikely to face jail time for this.
La la la la 97% la la la la 97% la la la can’t hear you. Followed by a strong finish by Mr. Cruz, “ten million jobs are at stake…. they ask us to take their word for it.”

  3. Asking the president of a propaganda org NOT to spew ridiculous talking points is sort ofr pointless, isn’t it?

  4. Anything to do with these manin-stream eco-freak groups(Sierra Club,Greenpeace,Audubon Society,EDF, Etc is bad for the nation and its citzens since their Watermellon envromentalists(Green on outside Red inside)and have gotten into this rediclous ideology that modeern man ruins the enviroment and primative man saved it(Crap like Avatar are a example)and their trying to reverse us and return us to a primative way of living Maybe they should watch the movie GREEN INFERNO

  5. When he gets around to putting his fellow GOP reps on the stand and grilling them about taking lobby payola, then I’ll take him seriously.

  6. Damn, he’s on to us, what now, are there others Jack,…..What a line of Bull this whole glowball warming/climate change theft has been, and still we have morons like Kusty and Angry Tom out there with a compliant media trying to scare to the grannies into pouring their money into these scam artists pockets. I hope Maurice dies in a firey way, it would be fitting. 99 percent of the thinking public and thinking people believe the thing THEFT.

  7. Sounds like every conversation I’ve ever had with a leftard.
Two more minutes of questions he can’t answer and the big 97% parrot would have brought up the colour of his plumage.
    No offense Spurwing.

  8. Ted Cruz is fun to watch…he has a very straight-forward, no B.S. approach. Hope he sticks around long enough to get some serious debate time.
Bright guy, quick on his feet an nothing to hide.
    Canadian lad.

  9. Global Wringing Warming Alarmist have no where else to turn.
Their AGW data is like a slimy rock overturned, (18 years of non-global satellite warming)
    They are dodging like cockroaches.
They know it, they know that we know it,
and they know that 97% of the monies they took was stolen from the Ponzi scheme.
Al Gorable and David Suzuki need to be put in a prison cell with a big hairy transvestite that believes in man made Sexual Changes..

  10. The AGW nonsense has zero science
A preponderance of the evidence is NOT scientific: preponderance is 51% (more likely than not) a legal standard that a non-scientific jury member may be expected to believe. It is the goal of the scam artist he will use to convince a Mark to buy his Bullshit
A group of Monkeys, or Village idiots could be expected to select 51% of the correct answers to a nuclear physics exam (random choice) if they were prompted with banana rewards, or an open bar at a convention.
Would anyone fly a plane that was designed by (Preponderance) 51% of the science?
Would you cross a bridge that was designed by (Preponderance) 51% of the science?
Would you take medication that was designed by (Preponderance) 51% of the science?
A Mission Critical System is expected to be (Five 9’s) 99.99999% scientifically valid……

  11. AGW is a lie. It is based on consensus, a bunch of pointy headed parrots who are given a bunch of talking points and then debate them around banquet tables of food and expensive wine in exotic locations all on somebody else’s dollar, what’s not to like about staying on that gravy-train band-wagon?
Ted Cruz brilliantly exposes that scientific facts are not at issue but a belief system.
Guess we won’t be seeing that on any of the MSM any time soon

  12. We ‘Learn’ something everyday…
I didn’t know that Ted Cruz was born in Canada.
He might win the Republican nomination,
    and even more notifiable,
I will vote for him if he does..

  13. Hysteria pimping organizations must maintain the charade of CAGW regardless of reality as their grandiose lifestyles depend on compliant, brain-dead, faith-based, fear-mongered supporters and more importantly, their financial support. Their political donations demonstrate their integral connection with the institutional left.
It’s hard to imagine a more natural enemy of the poor than the Sierra Club but in the toilet bowel of the zombie-left they are in good company.

  14. Anyone with an atom of common sense would know that 97% agreement on any subject, even scientific, is not possible, especially within the extremely imprecise science of meteorology and any pretense that climate modeling is “accurate” is pure bunk.
The respected climate scientist Richard Lindzen, & a very recent study have shown what was known from the beginning of the climate change junk science charade – the models vastly overestimate the sensitivity of CO2 to warming, and thus warming predictions. But if warmists acknowledge the “pause,” they are forced to consider that the CAGW hypothesis is disproved. No way they go with the “3%” on that eh?
According to the 97% argument, Lindzen and many other CAGW scientific skeptics would nonetheless be on side with their version of climate change – always in the future, always catastrophic, and always requiring large piles of taxpayer dollars to the watermelons, and always the fault of “right wing extremists.”
Nobody cares about their junk science anymore. Mair and his ilk are just trying to save their phony baloney jobs. Carbon taxes are tax increases. Maybe we can start talking about real pollution instead of bogus “per capita CO2 emissions” and other “evidence” and self serving warmist claptrap.
Even the UN doesn’t believe their BS anymore in the quest for world government:
“A hoax, a scam”: UN admits NDP “climate change” scheme won’t lower temperature by 1/100th of a degree — even after 100 years.”

  15. Change. It has always happened and is happening now. Massive change that creates major differences in the layers of rock that form mountains. What we see today is the result natural change driven by powerful forces repeatedly acting over millions and billions of years. I believe that mankind may have an influence on the change happening today but does not have the power to create even one of these layers.
    Changes

  16. The Sierra Club turned from an ecological interest organization to a propaganda outlet in the 80’s, which is when I quit. John Muir would weep.

  17. Were that there was a Canadian politician with the courage and self-confidence to challenge the “global warmers” on the facts.

  18. There’s no point in wasting political capital on warmists – nobody cares anymore anyway except the watermelons and their one world green government fantasies.

  19. If CAGW were a stock market play, the promoters would be in jail by now. “Climate Change” is the Enron of science.

  20. There has never been a public debate between the Warmist experts and the Skeptic experts on the issue of AGW because their experts are hiding from an open confrontation.
The senate investigation would be a perfect opportunity to accuse a high profile group like the Sierra Club of perpetrating a fraud on the general public with AGW.
Then maybe the Sierra Club would sue for defamation and their experts could present evidence that our experts could refute in court.
    I’m dreaming here.

  21. The Mann v Steyn case could result in a lot of inconvenient disclosures regarding the global warming crowd. Mark Steyn is readying to shove the “hockey stick” right back up Mann’s backside, metaphorically speaking of course.

  22. Dr. Tim Ball says something to this effect on AGW: that climate is a chaotic and non-linear phenomena by nature. To make any predictions about it becomes exponentially more difficult with the passage of time.
The warmists give us nothing but an unsound computer model. The tedious 97% argument gets redefined with every one of these twits who speak about it. They ignore that in response to the 97% claim, approximately 30,000 scientists signed a survey indicating the exact opposite. To extrapolate, that would mean there are 970,000 scientists who have indicated they agree with the theory of AGW. That would have been a massive undertaking to make that determination. Included a lot of foot doctors and plastic surgeons I suppose.
Ann McElhinney told a rabid heckler attending one of her lectures, who invoked the 97% argument, to please produce the list of the world’s scientists, because to cite that 97% of them agree with the science of AGW suggests that there is a master list…..…
    crickets…

  23. So what else would one expect from a token AA hire from a corrupt organization?
I only wish Cruz had been more forceful.
Jim Jordan would have *really* eaten his sorry-ass lunch.

  24. The Heartland Insitute has been realy raking the Enviromental Defense Fund(EDF)over their lies they have been spreading to the public over this Global Warming poppycock cutting through their ten trey tell to the public in their little Junk Mail and their stupid petitions they want the usial suckers to fill out I mean its all about Money and Political Agendas the Green has become the new Red

  25. LindaL – 97% was achieved by watered down questions that almost everyone agrees with. “Is it warmer now than it was 200 years ago”, “does humanity have a significant impact on his environment”. Yes, and yes. You can’t pave an inner city area without having a significant impact on heat retention. Use of it without going into the details of what it means is a misdirection, but not a lie.

  26. These eco-freaks apove of windturbines that are harmful to birds and bats and the windturbines also make terrible noises and people living close to them are opposes to windfarms in their areas yet the eco-freaks and the Obama adminastration aprooves of them even the so called RSPB(Royal Society fo the Proteaction of Birds)and bought into this global warming ideology and support windfarms
