The LPC Broadcasting Corporation

Graeme C. Gordon on The CBC’s Insolent Election Bias:

The Mother Corp’s darling Trudeau is given affectionate Putinesque coverage by our state broadcaster. Perusing the CBC’s website, one can see Trudeau boxing with his trainer; Trudeau sipping a beer; Trudeau cuddling his baby boy; Trudeau walking his other son to the park; Trudeau taking his kids to school; Trudeau paddling down a river in a canoe. Of course these moments are contrasted with less flattering pictures of the other two leaders at press junkets, but the intimate nature of many of Trudeau’s shots suggest he is either accompanied by a personal photographer or stalked by paparazzi.

And the bias goes far beyond the aesthetic qualities of the CBC’s selected photographs. A minute-long video of Trudeau paddling down the Bow River was inexplicably tweeted by our state broadcaster. No commentary provided–no story to be told–just a rustic scene of a man enjoying the outdoors. The video coincided nicely with junior Trudeau’s pledge to give CBC an additional 150 million dollars to its annual billion dollar federal subsidy.

  1. “Trudeau paddling down a river in a canoe.”
And you think that little Justin Trudeau won’t make a superb Prime Minister?
    How unutterly gauche of you!
Kisses to Mr. Trudeau! Kisses I say!

  2. If Harper somehow wins a majority, he is going to get my daily email recommending the CBC gets axed 100% with no tiny remnant left in business and no taxpayer supported Public Broadcaster of any kind. They aren’t even pretending to be non-partisan any more.

  3. As much as I’d like to satisfy my morbid curiosity and peek at CBC’s demented fawning over Laurentian royalty, I have to take a pass because every time I’m exposed to CBC’s toxic prejudices, my gag reflex gets the best of me.

  4. Harper should maintain the taxpayer subsidy but change CBC’s mandate to appoint it as the LPC Communications Department. Would anything change at CBC?

  5. SELL THE CBC TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER!!
Trudeau will destroy Canada as we know it. He is worst than his father Pierre Elliot Trudeau, he would never sell Canada to highest bidder. He is another Obama lead by his team Butts and friends.

  6. Relax. Nobody has watched the CBC for years.
That said, defund them and also please make them optional on cable bills. Since I unplugged long ago, I don’t pay cable fees to them but they are still a tax drain providing zero value.

  7. I finally stopped listening to and watching the CBC some years ago when they went on strike. Rather like I no longer use Canada Post since the last time they went on strike. I hope other government funded organizations, even departments, go on strike.

  8. Up until now, Tommy has been the CBC favourite. But I guess they got word from their Marxist overseer that Tommy isn’t going to win this one — time to suck up to the wannabe commie Justin (CBC philosophy: “a wannabe is better than no commie at all”).
I think everybody is beginning to realize that the “Orange Crush” is finished. It’s nothing but “Crushed Oranges” from hereon in.

  9. I’m confident that PMSH will enact suitable discipline after he wins another majority.

  10. The HARPER CONSERVATIVES can easily win a majority mandate if HARPER loads up Canadian FORCES HELICOPTERS with CANADIAN FLAGS and goes NORTH to the farthest reaches of NORTHERN CANADIAN SOIL planting CANADIAN FLAGS and TELL ALL COMERS to ASK FOR PERMISSION TO ENTER CANADIAN TERRITORY
    Putin and OBAMA included!
    NORTHWEST PASSAGE?
SELL ALBERTA OIL SANDS OIL TO EUROPE…… and F*@K the XL PIPELINE into OBLIVION …. FOREVER…!

  11. I was in Calgary before the 2011 federal election. One day, I listened to the local CBC noon hour “news”. They gave Saint Jack Layton over 5 minutes of coverage, including a few minutes of his spoken words. Then they gave the liberal leader, at least three minutes with a few of his spoken words; they spoke about the Bloc Quebecois leader for about a minute. The “report” ending by saying “Stephen Harper is on Vancouver Island.”
Stephen Harper’s riding is IN Calgary; yet he got a mere SIX words of “coverage”.

  12. How many politicians (or anyone) would get away with doing this ?
The baby, gobsmacked, rolled like a crazily time-lapsed rotisserie chicken, executing a flawless 360 in mid-air.
“He did the roll?” she asks, eyebrows rising. “That’s new.” Her voice takes on a tone of faux menace. ” Oooooh, Justin …”

    Isn’t that neat ???
You grab your kid (when the wife is gone) by the leg and give it a quick flip and catch him by the same leg.
    You are cool !!!
Only Conservatives would find something wrong with that.

  13. The obvious reason the laury elites are pushing so hard to have leisuresuit larry for PM?
They have figured out that if he doesn’t get elected with a majority he will be forced to let Muclair dictate terms for his support on a case by case basis, in other words anything Muclair wanted.
As most would already know the liberals may use a different colour for their party, but the difference ends there. However, ask any liberal and they will swear by the gods of progressiveness that they are nothing like those NDP people. The facade requires that at no time is the leader to make overtures of a coalition or merger or be seen to be letting them have any ownership of a liberal governments legislative agenda. So if a minority is out of the question, don’t even consider that a liberal leader would get a second chance (or his cheerleaders *cough*CBC*cough*) if they come second to the NDP.
Now here’s some news to warm your hearts.
The breaking news is that there may be an agreement soon on the TPP, ballyhooed as an absolute ginormous trade deal, which naturally being about trade the leftwing cheerin squad is dead set against….which by the way is the same left the liberals are going to have to woo away from the NDP and to the voting booth if the liberals hope to get anything more than a minority shot at government.
The petard young Justin will vault on to is if this deal is agreed to and then requires a vote in the HoC. Lets see? Justin declares he supports it and Muclair gets a proverbial 2×4 to beat him with, or oppose it and give the 2×4 to Harper, or try to sit on the fence and get hammered from both sides.
It’ll be the free trade election redux.

  14. The CBC needs to know that the next time a majority Conservative government happens, the CBC is GONE!!! – or at least ALL of its government subsidy!! Let the bastards swim or sink!!

  15. I was interested in politics from a young age.
‘Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail’ hooked me.
A coalition gov’t is a done deal if there is the possibility.
They will still despise each other, but neither will want (or can afford) another run at the electorate.
They will both see it a huge step up.

  16. ” there may be an agreement soon on the TPP”
I guess this is OT, but it will be interesting to see if the dairy farmers in Quebec buy the deal or not. When dairy supply management does go, there will likely be a high priced buy out of existing quota. If the time is now, it would be very interesting. A high enough buy out price would see votes going to CPC. A low price would maintain support for the NDP and somewhere in between the votes would go Bloc to ensure future bargaining power.
It would be interesting to see the NDP being forced to take a stand on whether low income Canadians should continue overpaying for milk in order to subsidize millionaire dairy farmers.

  17. The CBC doing what they do best …
” For Addie Tinholt’s 8th birthday, she wants to sponsor a Syrian refugee family (and kill Harper)”.
    Really !!!
Most kids want a pony, it doesn’t have to be shiny.
But the friggin CBC found a kid that wants to sponsor refugees.
What are the chances of that?

  18. I put some of the blame for this on Harper & Co. They’ve had years to defund this worthless excuse for a broadcaster, and it still looms large: oozing leftist, liberal ichor at every turn.
Imagine the outrage if the cbc ranks were purged of the 5th column socialist trash and replaced with conservatives. The public outcry and newspaper editorials would never cease.
If the CPC survive this election with a (please, Göd) majority, I hope they go for broke and yank public funding from this socialist morass.

  19. “If the CPC survive this election with a (please, Göd) majority, I hope they go for broke and yank public funding from this socialist morass.”
It’s not that difficult to pull off. Just do it. But make sure that when it’s done, every Canadian knows exactly what it was costing us per annum. There are still too many liv who believe that the CBC is self-sufficient. Sure a small but vocal minority will wail and gnash their teeth for a few weeks but so what? The average Canadian won’t even miss it.

  20. “More than 50 per cent of the Syrian refugees are children who have lost everything,” Addie said.
Addie hasn’t been doing her homework.

  21. “If Harper somehow wins a majority, he is going to get my daily email recommending the CBC gets axed 100%…”
Let me finish that sentence for ya…
…and if he loses, he can sit there and wonder is things would be different had he axed 100% of the CBC at the same time he nutted and gutted the wheat board.

  22. The CBC obviously wants no truck or trade with those of the Conservative persuasion.
    Fair enough.
Also fair would be a re-elected Conservative government reducing the CBC budget by a minimum 35% to account for the ignored voting populace.
And another 30% just because they are such human excretive orifice resemblers.

  23. -The CBC have substantially reduced the amount of poll results because Harper is gaining. Mansbridge has even talked against polls ever since the Cons took the lead, before that, polls were shown every hour.
-The CBC (And other MSM) have stopped talking about C-24, the new law that revokes Canadian citizenships because they now know, like the niqab issue, it gives the CPC more votes.
Because of Quebec’s beloved French version, Radio-Canada, it will be next to impossible to defund the 1.3 billion dollar propaganda monstrosity in the near future.
The Country will have to go near broke before enough of us are for getting rid of it to save a Billion or so tax dollars for other services like Health care that will eventually go broke with an ever increasing elderly population.
    It will come someday.

funny… no more pictures of pspawn arm in arm with his buddy jian ghomeshi… or taking in pride parade in toronto with kathleen wynne and former liberal deputy minister & convicted child pornographer ben levin.
it’s like the old russian mayday celebrations where they airbrushed out the guys who got sent to the gulag.

  25. This morning I was listening in the gym to the announcement on the CTV News channel of the huge Trans-Pacific Trade deal that Canada signed and immediately went to Justin Trudeau for comment. What the heck? Instead of talking to the Gov’t to get up to speed on the ramifications of the deal the Media runs flat out to give air time to the wet behind the ears kid who can’t even work a calculator to figure out what his own campaign promises will cost Canadians. Then the top viewpoints story on Calgary’s “Metro” news is how the Niqab isn’t a big deal – not like the Blue Jays…but they still make the point. Of. Having. To. Tell. Us. Guess we all need a progressive talking down to.
The CBC is definitely a party of this Left-wing saturated news media we have in Canada. Everywhere you look there’s unhidden bias. I would hope Harper’s Conservatives see this and make appropriate funding changes immediately if they manage to get a majority.
