Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

It looks like Trutardo”s strategy is to breathlessly blather endlessly and interupt at every opportunity… what an actor.
Sounds like they’re playing the laugh-track for him too.
His channeling his father’s spirit on the 15th anniversary of his passing was a sad performance.
Watching the debate now, – Mulcair sez he can stop ISIS with gun control ?!?!.
The Man-boy sez we will make the woeld safe by policing after someone else sacrifices to get the peace he will ride like a political pony.
I think I saw a unicorn chasing a rainbow in the back ground.
Good old Trudozo, HUGATHUG, HUG A TERRORIST, what a POS, defending terrorists, thinking they are hugable Canadians. Its just a root cause issue, dontcha know!
Bloody warm and fuzzy Liberals, no one is evil, just misunderstood.
How low can the Liberals pander for the thug vote?
The debate is best when Trudoz and Moolcair are beating each other up. Nice shot by Trudozo on Tommunist with his English/French, say it different in each language
Moderator asks Trudeau how he’d deal with Putin.
Audience laughs.
Priceless.
“Justin and Chrystia talked to Poloshenko, IN A NON-POLITICAL WAY.”
Was it a threesome way?
My gawd, he’s a eedeeot
Trudeau claiming Harper hasn’t stood up to Putin’s Crimean and Ukrainian incursions; hence the laughing.
PM Harper has long sounded opposition to Putin’s incursions.
Keystone XL cops, energy security, safer transport modality, Harper pushing the envelope.
Mulcair claims exporting “40,000 jobs” in Keystone XL goes through, laughable there will be jobs on both sides of the border.
Cheers

Trudope counted on a big applause on his ‘cancel-the-F35,more icebreakers’ spiel. …Crickets!
The applause came on Harper’s rebuttal.
On another point, Harper looking fairly svelt; must have dropped a couple of pounds. On the other hand the bearded Michelin Man will get no chastisement/ridicule at all from the ‘objective’ media!
So your lad Stephen wants to gamble with our free speech and say nice things about Obama.
Some conservative he turned out to be.
Oh well, anything for a buck, I guess.
How does the NDP expect refineries to be built (the loss of 40,000 jobs, supposedly)?
If they aren’t built under the CPC, they WON’T be built under the NDP, with their additional taxes and costs. Mulcair and his minions are dishonest to the effin core. Yet, they keep repeating the same dishonest lie. Is this the NDP’s new strategy? Go into the refinery business, and whitewash environmental laws? No explanation of the NDP’s duplicity.
Even May blabs on about exporting raw resources, implying that she’ll pop up refineries the instant she’s elected AND ensure they’re profitable.
Ok…GHG discussion…c’mon Harper mention our 1.8% emission. Smack these guys on climate change!!!
The boy brainiac just stated they HE has a plan for “Climate change reduction”?? H has a plan to reduce the natural cycles of weather – god like powers unleashed by cracky.
Poll that could go horribly “wrong”…

Apparently the ghost of Pierre is in this debate.
Yes , angry toms couple of years as a cabinet minister must have fed him well, he is a chunky monkey
The debate is OVER, you may now resume sweating for your taxes.
Zinger of the night goes to Harper on foreign policy: “It’s not CSIS, it’s ISIS that is the problem.”
Cheers

Excellent debate format. Don’t think we’ll ever see another consortium debate, again, thankfully.
Angry Tom is concerned that the perma frost will melt and cause a massive release of methane. Ok Tom fess up do to impose massive carbon taxes so Canada can get colder?
(do you want to impose…
I agree, it was the best debate so far in terms of format. The problem is — and this doesn’t stem from the format — that when factual statements (e.g. that the Conservatives are the first government in Canadian history to lower GHGs) are never acknowledged or responded to, as one is required to do in a proper debate, but are rather “rebutted” with incessant talking-point accusations, it’s not really a debate per se.
It was close enough, though.
I’d like to see three lengthy one-on-one debates in a quiet setting, with no audience. I think it would give the best candidate/debater — Mr. Harper in this case — a decided advantage.
How many Edwardian plays did Zoolan er um, Trudeau audition for between Ultimate Frisbee Coach and Substitute Drama Teaching gigs?
While I was pleased there was less talking over each other in this one – though Zoolander certainly tried several times – I didn’t like that the moderator did not direct specific, hard-hitting questions individually to each of the candidates through the two hours. As EBD said, it just turned out to be incessant talking points through most of the debate.
Harper stood strong though and did well, I thought, and nailed Zoolander on revoking terrorists passports.
Mulcair also zinged Zoolander a couple of times, “I’ll leave the ‘pomp’ to you Justin”, and the other line where he said ‘Justin never really debates because he has someone write all his lines for him’. I also liked that Mulcair always refers to the PM as “Mr. Harper”, but to Trudeau as “Justin”… a small dig, but consistently delivered, he shows he really doesn’t respect him as much.
Another poll…which at this time has been overtaken by socialists:
http://poll.munkdebates.com
Missed it and can’t find a video of it.
I thought Trudeau came across as very superficial and inexperienced. His arguments are mostly cliches. I cannot imagine him leading the country. Let us hope he dies not get the chance.
How sustainable is 15$ a day day care with 15$ an hour minimum wage. How long can you sustain that?
And …. everytime Mulcair farts, there is a release of methane – if only we could somehow capture and use this source of energy. Did someone here call Justine a fart-catcher?
Really simple: massive subsidies extracted from those of us who aren’t using Mulcair’s daycare.
Hey Linda, Perfect Freudian slip on your final sentence there! He can bring out the bad in the best of us.
These aren’t debates. They are nothing more than showboating and shouting talking points. The moderators are not able or not willing to maintain civil discourse. Interrupting is the norm rather than the exception. The Prime Minister is too much of a gentleman and has too much class to lower himself to the level of his opponents and is therefore shouted down on a regular basis.
Other than showcasing the buffoonery of the likes of Mulcair, Trudeau and May, these so-called debates are absolutely useless. Anyone who doesn’t know where the leaders stand on the issues by this point is too stupid to vote. In other words, an NDP supporter.
I am skeptical that anyone who watched these debates hasn’t already made up their mind on how they are voting. The average voter has the attention span of a gnat.
The only effect these may have is when the media packages the result into a (usually biased) sound bite tomorrow, “****** won last night’s debate, now over to Ted for the weather”, maybe some potential voter may be swayed if only to follow perceived momentum.
Annie, if you go to the CPAC website tomorrow http://www.cpac.ca/en/digital-archives/ you will probably find it listed. It will also probably be rebroadcast on CPAC, so check their schedule.
That poor Trudoughead kid and his lisp is more than I can stomach, Harper is so far ahead of these two dopes with a moderator who is so one sided its sickening. Thanks cascadia I forgot about my best birthday present ever.
Zingers aside, most telling moment of Munk Debate on foreign policy
Moderator asks Trudeau how he would deal with Putin. Audience laughs.
Second most telling moment
Audience drowns out Trudeau rude interuptions of Harper speaking with “Let him speak”
Being a Monk debate I was hoping that the moderator would exert a little more control and tell Junior to shut up when it wasn’t his turn to talk but no, it appears that not one moderator has been willing to tell him to grow up and behave like an adult. As for his little sob story that today was the 15th anniversary ofhis father’s death, talk about a cheap and tacky pity shot!
While I admire the Prime Minister for his dignity a part of me wishes that he’d have had a little Trump in him and put a few shots over their bows. I did achieve a good relief of aggression by swearing at the two socialists from time to time.
every tome these jokers exhale they expel CO2. stupid does not begin to describe the CO2 nuts.
Not any more
Tom – $15 a day per child. $15 / hour per adult means (after taxes, CPP, EI, Workers Comp, etc) about $22.5 / hour. so, if it’s a 10 hour day, the costs for the employee only would be $225. This works out to 15 children per caregiver. Not the optimum ratio, some would say? Close enough for government work…..
Clearly 🙂
And Trudozo does his huggythuggy routine, protecting the rights of a hyphenated convicted terrorist, maybe a bigger hug and a parka will change terror boy’s culture.
Canadian citizenship is a PRIVILEGE, not a right, for the ‘naturalized’ crowd.
BTW if you missed them you can watch here
Breakfast Television: comments from Turdeau and Angry Tom, nothing allowed from Mr. Harper.
Turd-o: “Canadians are worried about their jobs because they have a Prime Minster who doesn’t like Barack Obama!”
Tommy: “Canada needs to become a force for peace.”
Keep broadcasting that kind of facepalm-inducing gibberish, MSM, and thanks in advance!
This is arguably the most important election in Canada’s history. It is also one of the strangest. I have talked to many lefties over the past month or so and tried to reason with them … no small feat. I ask if they would enjoy higher taxes. Would they welcome unlimited, unrestricted immigration? Would they embrace a carbon tax? (Most don’t even know what that is.) Do they favour leaving our oil and gas in the ground and instead purchase it from thuggish Middle Eastern regimes? Of course the answer in the vast majority of cases is a resounding “no”. Then I ask why would you vote anything other than Conservative? The predictable reply is, of course Stephen Harper is a bully, a meanie, a dictator, a control freak, etc. etc. etc. No concrete objections to his policies just personal attacks on the man himself. Then I enquire as to why they consider Harper to be a bully. Reply … because he’s a meanie. Why is he a meanie? Because he’s a bully. Why do you consider him to be a dictator? Because he’s a control freak. Why do you classify him as a control freak? Because he’s a dictator. And round and round it goes. No examples, no reasoning and no hard evidence of Harper being such a bad guy. Just crap they gleaned from the media, CBC in particular.
Boy do we ever need a conservative voice in the mainstream media. Now more than ever.
That’s all the left has or has ever had, here and in the US: circular arguments with no substance at all. Like parrots trained to spew profanity – they can talk up a storm repeating venomous second-hand slogans, but there’s no actual information and no thought process behind it.
Agreed. However all the mindless ranting, venom spewing and feces flinging, despite its absurdity and baselessness, still has an effect on the liv, many of whom view the Prime Minister as a heartless monster.
Unfortunately the CPC does very little to counter this impression and Mr. Harper has far too much dignity to lower himself into the leftist cesspool and prove them wrong.
What can be done especially with big media firmly entrenched in the lefty corner?
Based on the last election nothing needs to be done.
