  1. So? Activity isn’t achievement. And if that’s the best that can be said for Martin, then he should take a hike.

  2. Martin noted that Ouellette lives in Winnipeg’s South St. Vital neighbourhood — a part of the city that he said “looks like Calgary to me.”
What, you can see the mountains from there? Another dog whistle, I suspect.

  3. Ha Ha Ha the left eating itself checkout the second video lower down on the CBC website (via this link) of a female cornering Angry Pat. Hey Patty, you reap what you sow. Years and years of pandering to shape and form these parasitical entitled beasts and now whatcha gonna do?

  4. “the media don’t think me and my party’s sexy enough,” Woodstock said.
    Elizabeth May isn’t sexy?

  5. Holy moly. FRS referred to the second video and my takeaway was that Martin, having sold his house, is now waiting for a co-op to be completed so that he can move in there.
From the NDP’s perspective, he’s ‘raising the bar’ in the community so that his poorer neigbours have someone to aspire to. The theory of ‘mixed-housing’ is supposed to express empathy by the well to – nothing to do with saving them money or taking advantage of their privilege of course. It’s an NDP tradition, following in the footsteps of Jackie Layton and Olivia Chow.
Then he has the temerity to announce that he has a ‘summer cottage’ that he uses just a few weeks a year.
    Clueless.

  6. I neglected to mention that Martin’s little cottage happens to be located on one of Canada’s most desirable pieces of real estate – Salt Spring Island. Home to poets, troubadours, trust fund babies and hedge fund managers.
This little fixer-upper for instance, is on the market for a mere $670,000.

And it ain’t easy to get to from his co-op either. Fly Winnipeg – Vancouver (watch if he doesn’t find some kind of ‘people’s’ business to avoid paying personally), then either a float plane or a two hour ferry across Georgia Strait (no, I don’t call it the ‘Salish Sea;) to Vancouver Island, followed by a half hour drive from Nanaimo, then another ferry followed by another drive to ‘home’.
Hey, we’re all entitled to our entitlements.

  7. Is it possible to imagine that Pat Martin having earned the dubious the title “elder statesman” just because he’s been there awhile, is starting to grow up and realize he can never satisfy the “more free stuff” crowd. I doubt it too. Really, the source of his frustration seems to come from people trying to “outleft” him.
And JW….Too bad for your candidate that the conservative didn’t show up because she could have acted as a heatsink for him. Patty would not have been the target simply because all the stupidity and ugliness would have been directed at the conservative.

  8. So what was that reference to the GPC guy as having been here only 4 and a half years…..does he mean he lived somewhere else in canada and moved to Winnipeg or that he immigrated to canada only 4 and a half years ago.
That second statement would be quite problematic.

  9. The NDP is chock full of candidates who, like Pat Martin, aren’t there to serve the Country or their constituents, but to act the part of the loud-mouthed rebel, while accepting all the benefits of the system they bitch about so much.
The man is an embarrassment to Winnipeg, the NDP,and Parliament.

  10. Pat Martin was being honest, he was describing himself. What sort of people elect such an obnoxious individual to represent them? It’s one place I’d not want to visit.

  11. The Conservative was out door knocking speaking directly to the voters. Who would want to be on a stage with potty mouthed Pat Martin. I still remember him drilling Bev Oda over the orange juice in the HOC committee…what a loose cannon that guy is. He was just as ignorant towards women on political talk shows too. Not sure how he manages to get elected. Unions I guess.

sounds like pattie-cake needs to get down to the “velvet touch massage parlour” for a “naked shiatsu”.
just file it under “what would jack do?”

  13. How is “RABID PAT” doing, settling up his lawsuit LOSS?
I used to worry about Mulcair losing it and stabbing someone.
    I’ve changed my mind.
Seeing him here in action, rabid seems a bit soft in describing this loon.

  14. I am voting Conservative. But their candidates need to be able to show up, and mumble something somewhat intelligent…otherwise they don’t deserve to be MPs.

  15. i find it funny how two progressives can actually not get along pat martin being grilled bye another leftist wow.

  16. Of course to our betters in the media Pat is not angry, he is ‘pugnacious’.
Only older white males who vote conservative are angry.

  17. Ouellette is probably the best Manitoba candidate (of all parties). I don’t care which party he is running for (it is the Liberals). The House would be better off with him in it. It is time for blow bag Martin to go!

  18. JW.. perhaps I was being a little presumptuous about your original message. You are right that a candidate should be able to defend the position they represent. My knee-jerk response to such a venue is that just like what goes these days with the parliamentary press gallery, a conservative just can’t stay afloat above all the nonsense. Of course that’s the Catch 22 for Harper. Criticized beyond reason whether or not he places restrictions on the time he gives to reporters. That just seems to be the reality of representing maturity and reason in an ocean of liars and idiots. It’s like inviting Plácido Domingo to a karaoke party.

  19. Hmm…
Ordinarily I don’t have much use for the NDP – and least of all Pat Martin – but going “Trump” on a Green Party candidate?
    Magnificent.
