Students Boo Mandatory Diversity Class at University of Oklahoma
Well, not actually. More like very polite bitching.
I walked out on a first generation version of a “diversity class” in college. It was the day we were obligated to sit through “Oblio and the Land Of Point”. Told the instructor it was an insult to our intelligence, picked up my books and left.
These kids have no balls.

Gabby in QC, the video is still available through other uploaders on Youtube, it’s impossible to know why the original uploader is no longer with that account.

This is a perfect and prime example of why university is poison and destroys the mind. I am proud to be a non university tradesman and I made damn sure that my kids NEVER went to university. My son is a successful welder in Northern Alberta making more money than any university professor, doctor or lawyer. My daughter is a hair dresser and a beauty expert who makes a hefty salary off of arrogant female yuppie class downtown Calgary types. Now put that in the diversity class or whatever pipe and smoke it.
By coincidence, I am currently reading through “I Will Bear Witness” by Victor Klemperer.* It is now 1934 in Germany and the Nazis – always and ever “anti-intellectual”** – are gradually throttling the academic life of Klemperer’s institute in Dresden.
Today, it would seem that the universities need no help from anyone; they appear almost indecently disposed to stamp out the life of the mind themselves. A sad state of affairs.
* Klemperer, a professor and a Jew, would lose his teaching position in 1935 but would survive the war (and live through the Allied bombing of Dresden) in part because he was married to an “Aryan” and was a WWI veteran. Though of course, this would not prevent him being constantly intimidated, threatened and harassed by the Nazi authorities.
Irony of ironies, his first cousin, Werner Klemperer, would become well known to those of us of a certain age as “Colonel Klink” in Hogan’s Heroes.
** Yet there was no shortage of German intellectuals either in the Nazi Party or cheerfully co-opted by it (Goebbels was a Ph. D. from Heidelberg).
Universities might love to pontificate endlessly about intellectual freedom but academia has proved no more courageous an institution than any other when confronted with the various tyrannies of the age.

The educated elite in socialist circles have been indoctrinated to the point where they are unable to deal with reality. Whenever reality confronts them and proves their theory wrong, they ignore it and double down on their theory. Witness the policies of taxation being practiced by the governments of Ontario and Alberta. Excess taxes are causing declining economic growth so the solution is to increase taxation! Venezuela is another example.
