  1. By the grace of God and appropriate stewardship… I’ve had an Osprey visit my front pond on (at least) 7 occasions!!!!!!! This summer alone! I wish I had the chance to show my neighbours… sadley, tho’ they live in the countryside, they don’t notice…

  3. There was a hawk in our backyard in suburban Etobicoke just a couple of weeks ago. It was funny to hear all the small birds (like sparrows) in the area giving warning chirps and carefully moving away.

  4. I like hawks, I like to feed them , so it’s not uncommon to see a pair circling over a gopher field I’m shooting in – the .224 leaves lotsa fresh protein for growing raptors.

  5. Maybe the complaining neighbors will erect windmills on their decks.

  6. We have eagles
    we had a cat
    gory ending
    but you knew that.
Our 110 lb Husky had that shit eating grin on her for several days.

  7. Pretty cool. I once thought about getting into falconry to hunt rabbits. Now we just raise rabbits, so getting a falcon would probably just affect our meat production.
A bit off topic, we had an abnormal amount of northern flickers this year.

  8. Our Multi-state Utility sets peregrine falcon boxes on the sides of Power Plant smoke stacks. They help control the pigeon and sparrow population around the power plants. In the winter, the bald eagles like to congregate around the cooling water discharge, as the open water makes for good fishing.

  9. I stared into the face of evil one day not long ago. I rounded the corner of a building and came face to face with a peregrine falcon hunched over her freshly killed and partially eaten pigeon. The falcon’s face was covered with pigeon blood and its beak was open as it spread its wings and hissed at me.

The last couple of years we have had flocks (>20) of Northern flickers that spend all day in our Orchard yard S/E Sask… eating ground ANTS. Nice birds

  12. Probably the reason for our rise in numbers this year, given the dry beginning of summer. A lot of ants to be had.

  13. We get a Sharp Shinned Hawk visiting our yard on a regular basis, year round. Sparrows. Yum. They’re pretty fast at diving into bushes & snapping up a meal of brown fluff.

  14. I live ina a largly agricultueral area and the Redtail Hawk are quite plentiful but we also have Bald Eagles as well and lots of Turkey Vultures

  15. Perigrines yeah i have to be careful watch my back they can come diving at over 200 MPH but ima fighter and i can attack as well
