Yesterday, the Mayor of Oakville, used this story as a basis for an attack on Canada’s veterans. He compared them to the brown and black shirts used by the Nazis and Mussolini’s fascists prior to WWII.
Political attacks on veterans has heretofore been a decided no-no, as the 2006 Liberals found out.
I call on the citizens of Oakville to reprimand their mayor for such ludicrous statements about our veterans.
The Lorne Scots
The Lorne Scots provided soldiers to assist Canadians during the 1997 Manitoba Floods and the 1998 Ice Storm in eastern Ontario. Overseas, the Regiment has provided troops to peacekeeping missions around the world, including operations in Cyprus, Cambodia, Croatia and Bosnia. Most recently, many Lornes have served with the International Security Assistance Force in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan.
But all that aside, I’m sure Halton Company is enamored over their Mayor calling them Nazis and fascists.

Just remember this and other comments Mayor Burton, has made and vote accordingly, next time around.
Don’t care for his attitude or comments, get rid of them and him at the next election. Maybe this will energize people to get out and vote for the next Mayor, the usual turnout is appallingly low. Wake up Oakville!!
great blog and post, I enjoy reading so many comments on blogs, but I also like to watch documentary films, don´t you?
If you are travelling, plan towards transportation and accommodation. They are told that we are
celebrating the birth of CHRIST. While I love my doll collection,
and I would love to add to it, I am leaning toward
more practical items this year.
