  1. The currency of Venezuela, the Bolivar has hit somewhat of a barrier today, easing up slightly to +500 / 1 American dollar… not very much is available at the “official” exchange rate.

  3. Indeed, but kids are much more resilient than our betters like to believe. The more overzealous the state the more cumbersome and incompetent it gets. Kids can smell bull$hit a mile away and it is never too early for them to start learning …

  8. I decided to check out the school via Wikapedia. I discovered this interesting fact:
    “The student population at CSIHS is culturally and linguistically diverse. In the 2010-11 school year, the student population was identified as 2.2% American Indian/Alaskan Native, 17.7% Asian, 2.1% Pacific Islander, 19.8% Asian/Pacific Islander, 24.7% African-American, 20.6% Hispanic, 31.7% Caucasian, and 1% Two or More Races. 54.8% of the students qualified for free or reduced meals.[3]”
    Oh dear me. Someone’s arithmetic skills are not good as the total above is 119.8%. It will be difficult to be more culturally and linguistically diverse than that.
