“Once outside, the fight escalated with the introduction of brass knuckles, chains, knives and eventually guns.” As police attempted to intervene in the fight, bikers opened fire on police and police returned fire. No officers were shot.
The local management had been refusing to cooperate with police prior to the event; and welcomed the biker business. Police were aware something was ‘going down’ and had the tactical unit on site. ie could have led to far more casualties possibly involving innocents.
One news site ridiculously suggested the fight broke out over a ‘parking spot’.
More like who was going to run the drug trade or some such…

A few years ago, before the last election, I was watching a CTV political program,I think it may have been Power Play,I can’t remember the name, I don’t think it was QP. But Mike Duffy and Craig Oliver were speaking. They cut to commercial, but not quick enough. Craig turned to Duffy and said. “It is going to be so much fun to bring this gov’t down”.
The Conservatives are doing the right thing by taking the debates away from the ‘consortium’. The argument about a decline in the number of people watching is a red herring. How many people in Canada have ONLY the CBC as their link to the outside world ?
The NDP and the Liberals have promised to restore the funding cuts to the CBC, the Conservatives will not.
That is the crux of the biscuit. The CBC desperately needs to control the debate to ensure that Canada stays progressively deluded and their employees can maintain the lifestyle that they have enjoyed for decades.
If only he had praised Islam all would have been forgiven and ignored. But he’s a man of faith and he was proud of that.

Re: Strange sounds.
There are strange sounds everywhere!! The trumpet like sound could be a ships horn, they do emit a strange sound during foggy or low ceiling conditions. The horns on some of the new container ships are extremely powerful and can be heard for miles.
I compare this to flying saucers or UFOs. I’ve spent thousands of hours on farm and construction equipment that had no cab. Only once did I see a strange light, it was explained the next day in the Regina Leader Post. It was a meteorite that was headed straight for Southern Saskatchewan–it disintegrated before hitting the soil causing a bright white light.
Sounds are the same. An impact wrench on an empty steel building will drive you nuts up to 300 yards away. A pile driver, even worst!! Who knows what lurks in the dark! As I’m writing this, a kid is gunning his Dodge diesel pickup, turbocharged with no muffler. Does make an eerie sound at night!!

The Liberals (and Co.) are upset because they perceive a TV ad as being ”Conservative” in nature.
I guess if you ignore the fact that our National Flag was originally raised while displaying the same colours, and as an almost identical photocopy of the logo of the Liberal Party of Canada, then yes, the ad could be perceived as conservative (note small ”c”) in nature.
And by the way–is the CBC not in the advertising business??
